Chapter 2 - Army Attacks

As Gabriel berates Necro, he sneers and stabs the bottom of his spear into the ground.

Gabriel then says:" You ready to give the order now?….because they won't listen to me ", then he gives a fierce shout...

"Listen up, all of you filthy fucken rejects of the lower order," the leader sneers, his eyes scanning the crowd of cowering soldiers. "You will obey Gabriel's commands, or I'll kill you, your family, and the whore you fucked last if you disobey her."

He glances over at Gabriel. "They're all yours to deal with, Gabriel. Even if you tell them to kill themselves, they'll follow through. Otherwise, demise awaits them either way."

Gabriel watches in disbelief as Necro sits back down beside his spear, the lower demons trembling in fear.

She knows that she has to follow the commands of her God, even if it means working alongside Necro and his monstrous underlings. She takes a deep breath and soars into the air, her voice ringing out across the battlefield. "We are not here for revenge or petty squabbles," she declares. "We are here for one purpose, and that is to defeat that thing!". She points at Damian

Damian smiles, then looks behind him as if searching for someone else. "You there, hiding in the shadows," he calls out. "I would run if I were you. This doesn't look good."

S: "Damian, this isn't a time for jokes, but a nice one" a voice sneers. "It's time to have some fun hahahaha"

As Damian grips his dual short swords tightly, he looks back and sighs. "Thanks," he says. "I know, but why not joke a little before death?"

The armies, both angels and demons, stare at Damian in shock and disbelief. They can't believe that he's still cracking jokes at a time like this. But as the demons start to unleash their dark energy and the angels release their divine energy, Gabriel knows she must act quickly.

"Ground angels and soldier demons, to the front on the ground," Gabriel commands. "Ranged users, take to the air with the higher angels and higher demons. Ranged users, fire everything you've got first then ground troops advance after ranged attacks land and the target is still standing. Don't fight each other for supremacy. Higher angels and higher demons, stay back and wait for my signal to fight."

Necro sneers to himself, thinking that the angels always have a battle strategy and formation, but they never work when chaos enters the fold. But Gabriel continues, "Now, can everyone get into formation and prepare to attack? That's an order."

All the warriors take their positions, with the ground troops forming a semi-circle shape and the ranged fighters hovering just above them, charging their attacks. The higher angels, numbering 20, and the higher demons, numbering 31, are at the back of them.

Damian watches in silence as the armies work together seamlessly to get into position. He wonders to himself how long this peacefulness will last before the real fighting begins.

S says, "Those foot soldiers are not a problem. Just have to dodge their weapons and block. Their metal armour has longer durability than your armour and they underestimate you with the ones they brought. We can help you with the Absolute Beings when the need arises, but it's gonna be difficult. You can't kill them as you are now, especially those two."

Damian nods his head and tightens his grip on his swords. "Thank you for the help," he says.

L chimes in, "Don't thank us just yet. Remove your restriction bracelets. This is gonna be a hard fight and you will need everything. Those Absolute Beings are on another level, but we have an advantage. They have power restrictions. I agree with S, it is achievable if you listen to my every order." Damian readies himself to do as he's told.

"L, good to hear your voice in this fight. I'm in your hands when it comes to fighting. No better strategist," Damian says.

S scoffs, "WTF, I'm right here you know. Plus I say we just run straight at them sword swinging and heads rolling."

Damian remains silent as L continues, "Ahh, Damian when they launch the range attacks, they're all gonna be blinded. Appear behind the Higher Angels and Higher demons and take as many wings close to the spine and heads as you can so they fall. Their armour is light."

S:" Are you insane? The two Absolute are right behind them. They won't stand idly by."

Damian:" Umm… L, are you sure about this?"

L:" Trust me, I have a plan."

Damian curses his luck as he grips his swords tightly and prepares to quickly appear behind the enemy lines.

Gabriel bellows, "Prepare... Range fighters, attack!"

In an instant, a storm of dark and light arrows, fireballs, spears, poison darts, flying blades, ice spears, and balls of energy are launched at Damian. The ground shakes and flames engulf the area for 500 meters as the lake water boils and evaporates in an instant.

With a deafening KABOOOOOOOOOOOM, Damian's body was reduced to atoms as dark energy clashed with light. The ground shook violently, flames engulfed the area within a radius of 500m, and the lake water boiled rapidly, evaporating in a matter of minutes. A giant crater, 20m deep, was left in the wake of the explosion, and the trees surrounding the lake were left damaged and ablaze.

The once picturesque landscape was now a barren wasteland, with only the sound of the waterfall trying to fill the void left by the destruction.

The Soldier's demons erupted into maniacal laughter, most clapping and taunting, "He didn't even move," "Talks big but freezes," and "What a joke."

The Angels were visibly irritated, muttering among themselves, "Really, what a waste of time," "Why did we even come," and "What a beautiful place destroyed."

Necro, standing off to the side, spoke in a low, ominous tone, "Idiots, dropping your defence... don't you even realize?"

Gabriel, watching from a distance, thought to herself, "You younger generation don't know how to fight... why were we ordered to stand back and watch this? My Supreme Light!!! I'll step in when the numbers drop below half. I can't watch innocent lights fade."

She mind-linked with Necro, "I know you won't do anything even if they all die, but will you help me when they go down by half?"

Necro looked up and let out a wicked laugh before nodding in agreement.

Just as the explosion had subsided and the army is still laughing and complaining among themselves, loud, pained screams filled the air.

All the demons and angels stopped in their tracks and looked back to see 21 Higher Demons and 12 Higher Angels falling to the ground. 20 Higher Demons were dead, 1 was gravely injured, and 7 Higher Angels were killed, with the rest sustaining injuries to their wings or spine.

All the warriors were startled, wondering how this had happened. They had seen the attack land, his body even disintegrated, yet how had he managed to get behind them and take out so many higher beings in a matter of minutes without them noticing?

With a fierce yell, L commanded, "Damian, move! Don't stop! Jump into the middle of the ground soldiers. The ranged fighters won't be able to attack you fully then."

Without hesitation, Damian followed orders, slicing through the lower warriors with precision, aiming for their heads to ensure death.

L continued to give instructions, "Damian, cast a lightning net, making the rest of the higher soldiers, also ranged ones, dazed and fall on the lower ones."

With a fierce determination, Damian channeled all the static in the air from the explosion earlier, looking towards the ones still in the air, and cast a net spanning 50m by 50m, sending it hurtling downwards.

All the angels with earth powers saw the net and cast protection spells, while the demons with fire powers coated their bodies to protect themselves from the incoming net. Damian also coated his body in lightning to protect himself from the electric shock.

'Cracks... BANG...' Bright flashes filled the area as most screamed, and burnt, limbs fell, blood sprayed everywhere, and some lay on the ground convulsing, unable to move.

Gabriel spoke in a low voice, "Why are none of you working together? You're all trying to get recognition. The ones with protection abilities aren't shielding the others that can't. They're even killing each other in this madness." Gabriel closed her bright red eyes in sadness.

Necro, on the other hand, let out a wickedly loud laugh, causing some of the soldiers to look back at him with fearful eyes, others with pleading eyes for help as they lay on the ground, hurt and screaming, "Don't look at me, you weaklings. I'm not gonna help."

...

L continues to guide Damian, "Damian, the angels have weak armour by the ribs and knees, while the demons are weak by the hip and under the arm."

Damian thanked him while targeting the areas L had indicated.

S chimed in, "Use those new earth powers."

Damian made pillars appear, impeding vision then used lightning to generate steam from the water attacks...

"Time to die all of you," Damian snarled as he expertly dodged a twin blade coming at him while cutting into a demon's body with his sword.

With a fierce determination in his eyes, Damian unleashed a powerful spell, "Lightning Smite!" Spikes of lightning erupted from the pillars, charring the warriors around them.

With his eyes locked on his next target, an angel lady who was desperately trying to shield herself from the lightning, Damian rushed towards her.

"Time's up," he growled as he swung his blade from behind her, cutting her neck with a swift motion.

"Splat," blood spilt out as the angel fell to the ground, desperately grasping at her wound and pleading for help.

But her cries for aid fell on deaf ears then she see a demon coming rushing towards them, her faith levels increasing even though it is a demon.

The demon grinned wickedly, "Fire Whip!" A lengthy whip with spikes and six sabres swung towards Damian and the angel.

With a regretful sigh, Damian used the angel as a shield and raised his swords to block the attack.

But it was too late.

With a deafening 'Whooosh, Boooom', the six sabres cut through the angel, killing her instantly.

"That wasn't very pleasant, she asked for your aid," Damian said as he stood, shaking off the mud mixed with blood.

"Hahahaha, she was already dead to me. So, fuck her. You're mine," the demon sneered as he rushed towards Damian, pivoting his whip quickly.

Luckily Damian is ready, "Vine and Earth Cage!" He lifts his hands and a huge prison covers everyone around him.

As the sun begins to fade and the ceiling closes in, the darkness made it difficult for them to see. But the demon's whip lights up the inside, helping them to see.

"Steal the air," Damian commanded, and with a clap, the plants began to steal all the oxygen in the cage.

Standing in the epicentre of the cage, Damian surveyed the scene as everyone readied their weapons. Then the fire whip starts withering away so the demon looks at it.

The demon snarls. "What the fuck, Fire...Fire...what do you think I'm terrified of the dark? I am born of darkness," he sneers brandishing two black curved blades now.

Damian is unfazed. "Then bring it on, demon. Why are your legs trembling like the others?"

As the demon lunges at him, Damian calls out, "Nature's Protection!" A creature erupts from the ground, grabbing the demon by the hands and pummeling him into the floor, shattering his body as bones break.

"Shit, these earth powers are insane," Damian mutters as the creature vanishes.

The other warriors try to break out of the cage, but Damian cuts them down quickly. "Hmm, I wonder if barbs..." he muses as massive spikes suddenly impale all of the remaining soldiers outside, sending some fleeing in terror.

As the cage collapses and the angels and demons fall dead from the barbs, Damian comes into view. The remaining warriors back away in fear as they see the carnage inside.

"Damian, don't halt. They are scared now. Persist in your assault," L's voice echoes in his mind.

Damian continues his assault for 30 minutes, listening to L's every command as he wields his weapons, powers, and martial arts. The angel and demon army launch a barrage of attacks at Damian, but he easily deflects or warps away, using the confusion to strike another being. The battlefield is soon awash with blood and death as Damian decimates his enemies with merciless efficiency.
