I feel the tourniquet grow tighter and tighter as the room grows colder.
Looking into Damon's eyes, all that looks back is 'The Demon' and I start to lose feeling in my arm.
"I-It's not what it l-looks like!" I stammer out in my defense.
"What's not what it looks like?" Damon says while still tightening the tourniquet.
"I... Um... Uh... Help!" I look back to Kira who seems just as panicked as me.
"Damon! Stop! He... He shit himself!" Kira blurts out.
"What?" The doctor and Damon say in unison, and despite being accused of shitting myself I can't help but sigh a sigh of relief.
"Lance was embarrassed that he shit himself last night and I saw it when I went in to check on him in the morning and he asked me for a change of clothes and to get rid of the sheets!" Kira quickly crafts a believable lie that thankfully Damon seems to accept as the tourniquet returns to its appropriate tightness.
"Oh... Um... You should probably get that bullet wound checked out..." Damon says pretending that he didn't almost just remove my arm himself as that switch seems to flick sending 'The Demon' back to sleep.
Much too happy to put this awkward moment of attempted murder behind us, I quickly agree, "Yeah, I'd prefer not to bleed out any more than I already have today." I say giving Kira a knowing look as I thank her in my heart.
"Ah, that's my cue. Come along young man." The doctor says as if remembering he has a wounded patient bleeding out on the floor.
He helps me up and takes me back to my room, where he begins disinfecting and stitching up the wound while I see Damon talking on the phone to someone and Kira lies in her bed looking at me with concern.
After dealing with my gunshot wound the doctor begins examining my other wounds to make sure I didn't refracture any of my injuries from the car crash.
And then my Mom and Sammy come in, panicking when they see the blood all over my body.
"My baby! What happened!?" My Mom shouts which draws the attention of Damon who wraps up his phone call before coming over to check on the commotion.
"I apologize Ms. Kaito, it was all my fault-" Damon starts to explain before my mom cuts him off.
"You shot my son! I'm gonna-" Mom begins to shout as she starts to lung at Damon as if she's about to choke him. Stunning everyone but me as I leap forward to hold her back from her motherly fury.
"Stop! Mom! That's not what he meant! There was a crazy woman shooting up the place, I tackled her after she shot me and Damon grabbed the gun and shot her. He didn't shoot me! He saved my life, now stop trying to strangle them!" I shout pulling her away from Damon who was too shocked from her accusation to fight back from her 'pummeling'. Which was probably as painful as butterfly kisses.
