Chereads / If These Walls Could Talk / Chapter 40 - 39 Tuesday

Chapter 40 - 39 Tuesday

My day was uneventful at work. Janet is still looking like crispy bacon, slathering aloe all over her arms and face. I told her to take a vinegar bath when she got home to help with the pain. Her moaning about how she was going to smell like pickles tomorrow was the funniest part of the day.

I'm waving bye to Kim as I head to my car, when my phone goes off.

"Hello?"

"Hey Lirael, are you coming by my office to talk or would you like me to go to your place?"

It's Brian and by the sound of it, he's gotten through his patients early today if he's already asking me this at only five.

"Whichever you prefer, I have to take a shower though." Working in a hospital has made me conscience of cleaning myself of the possible microbes that I may be around, before I can relax.

"Sounds like your place it is." Brian says matter of fact. "I'll stop and pick us up something to eat from El Mejor. Before you say anything, I know, no Pico de Gallo."

"Thank you, Brian. You know me so well. I'll see you at the house shortly. Come on in, if I don't answer the door."

We hang up and I head home after stopping to pick up a bottle Jameson's and Peachy Crown Royale for the house. I poured a glass for myself and Brian, leaving his on the table by the front door so he could enjoy while I finished up in the shower, if I wasn't out in time.

Brian and I have been good enough friends that we can do stuff like that. He knows my likes and dislikes and I know his. He's one of the few people I know I can trust with making certain decisions if I'm not present. In fact, he was the one who made the decision on the paint color of my walls when I had been recuperating in the hospital from donating some bone marrow. He made the perfect choice after the contractor informed him that the original color I chose was no longer available. I guess that's why he's the only one who knows where the spare key is to my house. He did help bring it to life.

I hop in and wash myself off from a day at the hospital, turning the water off and grabbing my towel to wrap around me. I grab another for my hair and get it wrapped up. I dry myself off quickly and put my lotion on before going to my closet to grab something to wear. I slide into my underwear and bra, pulling a dark blue, lace collared, dress that went to just below my knee with a pleated skirt. I slip into my ballet flats, pulling the towel off my hair, drying it as much as I can with it. I twist my head full of long hair up into a clip, and add some mascara before shrugging and heading downstairs.

I get to the bottom of the stairs and smell food.

"Mmmmm! Something smells delicious!" I announce entering the dining room and see the food set out but no Brian. I look around, confused.

"Brian?" I walk to the kitchen and see nothing. "Brian?!" I call out louder, thinking he's in the bathroom, but as I check it's empty too.

"Brian?" I walk out to the living room and see the drink missing, but no ones in the house. I open the front door and walk to see his ass bent over cleaning something out of his car.

Seeing a perfectly good opportunity in front of me, my hand twitches as I quietly and quickly move up behind him to bring my hand down on his ass.

*SMACK*

"HOLY FUCKING SHIT!"

I'm clutching my sides, laughing hard, finding it hard to breath as he jumps up rubbing his backside. He's still cussing, rubbing his ass cheek, but smiling seeing me unable to stop my laughter.

"You think you're just hilarious, don't you?" Brian takes the towels he'd been using to clean something in his car and tosses them in the nearby trashcan.

I stand up a little straighter, still laughing, but beginning to control it.

He gets a glint in his eye and says lowly, a playful smirk on his lips, "Let's see how funny it is, when I get you back."

My eyes widen and my heart pauses before adrenaline kicks in and I'm running around the car, squealing as Brian takes off after me, laughing like a maniac.

My hair is falling out of my clip, my feet making a slapping sound against the stone pathway.

*Thump-thump-thump*

His feet sound on the porch right behind me as I giggle and attempt to open the door before he gets me.

The air in my lungs leaves my body as I'm suddenly pulled away from the door and thrown over his shoulder, screaming and laughing as he opens the door and walks in.

He's carrying me with ease, laughing as I struggle, when I feel his hand connect with my ass.

*SMACK*

"OW! I couldn't pass up the perfect offering you were presenting!" I cry out laughing, now rubbing my stinging ass cheek, as he sets me down. I cross my arms and give a light pout, making him chuckle.

"Don't dish what you can't take then." He teased, lifting my pouty chin up with his knuckles. "Now, let's eat before the food gets cold." He wanders into the kitchen as I rub my still stinging ass again.

"If I can even sit..." I grumble, realizing, he hit me hard enough that I probably have a giant, hand-shaped welt on my right cheek.

"I'm sorry, what was that?" Brian sticks his head back out of the dining room and I shrug, shaking my head.

"I didn't say anything, weirdo. You're hearing things." I give him my best performance of absolute confusion, making him raise a brow in thought.

I walk past him, smacking his ass cheek lightly where I had got him earlier, making him flinch.

An evil snicker escapes me as I sit down and start to enjoy my food.

"YUM! This is so good!" I take a huge bite as Brian sits across from me looking amused and annoyed.

"I bet it does, but you say that about everything that fills your mouth like that..." Brian's sarcastic response nearly has me choking on my bite. He scoffs, "Wow, and you're choking on it too..." his eyes twinkle, "you must really enjoy it then."

*Cough*

"BRIAN! You ass!" I finally choke down my food, flipping him off, laughing and coughing as he just snickers at me.

"Me?!" He scoffs, even though he's smiling. "You are mad at me because you make it too easy to tease you? HA! Maybe you should attempt to make things harder for me, than you could handle it better..."

My eyes widen as I catch his innuendo and suddenly my food has my full attention.

No! He did not just say that!
