Ryder stood there in shock. He can use Magic, and apparently Magic exists. He isn't the only one in shock at this revelation. Ironwood and Glynda are stunned beyond belief while Kairos shows visible shock as he looks at Ryder. Ironwood couldn't believe it, the only beings capable of wielding magic besides Salem and Ozpin were the four maidens. But now before him stands a boy capable of wielding magic and this boy has an evolutionary semblance. The amount of potential Ryder must have is insane.
"Ozpin, do you have any idea what this means?" Ironwood asks. "A boy with an Evolutionary Semblance and Magic. Do you have any idea how powerful he could become?"
"I'm fully aware of Mr. Falcone's potential." Ozpin said calmly.
"But how could he wield Magic?" Glynda asks.
"Perhaps Ryder's world had a history of Magic." Ozpin said.
"Earth had many legends. The Wizard Merlin is among a few famous ones. So maybe Magic did exist at one point, and we just forgot how to use it." Kairos theorizes.
"Then it begs the question, can Kairos use it too?" Ironwood suggested.
"If he could, it would've manifested by now." Ozpin said. "Kairos has been here longer than Ryder."
Ryder was too caught up in his own thoughts. He can use magic. That's only something you see in fantasy stories.
"I can use magic." Ryder mumbles, loud enough for everyone to hear him.
"Indeed, you can." Ozpin confirms.
"Someone needs to train him to use his newfound strength and his Evolutionary Semblance." Ironwood states. "Perhaps i could train him?"
"No offense James, but you don't wield magic." Glynda said.
"A fair point, Glynda. Which is why I'll be the one to train him." Ozpin said.
"Ozpin, are you sure?" Ironwood asks. "I could always train him for you."
"I'm sure James." Ozpin said. "That is of course, if Ryder wants this."
Everyone looked at Ryder. Ryder looked down in thought. He's been needing aid in training anyway to begin with, and being trained by the best Huntsmen around could help tremendously. So why not?
"Alright. Let's do it." Ryder said.
Ozpin smiles a little.
"I uh, also think I should tell them about the orbs." Ryder said.
The others beside Ozpin looked confused.
"Are you sure?" Ozpin asks.
"You told me we'll need assistance in tracking them down." Ryder said. "So, I'm getting help."
"What is he talking about Ozpin?" Ironwood asks.
Ryder reached into his hoodie's pocket and pulled out the One Star Dragon Ball he found a while ago. Glynda, Ironwood and Kairos gaze upon the Dragon Ball with curiosity and wonder. Kairos didn't even know what it was. To them, it was just an orange crystal ball.
"What's so significant about a crystal ball?" Kairos asks.
"This is a Dragon Ball. There are seven in total. Once you've collected all seven, you can summon a great dragon named Shenron who will grant you any wish of your desire. As long as its within Shenron's power." Ryder explains. "These aren't from Remnant, they come from Earth."
"An Earth relic? Here on Remnant?" Glynda asked.
"I don't know how they got here, but after hearing about Salem. We could use them against her." Ryder said. "While i do want to return home, this Salem person is clearly a big threat."
"How many wishes can be made?" Ironwood asks.
"Only one. Once you make the wish, the Dragon Balls will scatter and in one year the orb's will be ready for you to make another wish." Ryder explained.
Glynda is amazed, as is Kairos. Kairos was wondering why he didn't know they existed. Now that he thinks about it, Dragon Balls. That sounds very familiar to him. It then clicks to Kairos. These are the wish orbs from the Dragon Ball Anime. He was going to interject with this revelation but decided against it, mainly because people would think he sounded crazy, and he guesses that's why Ryder didn't say that. Ironwood looked elated to hear this information.
"Ozpin, do you have any idea what this means? We have a clear shot at defeating Salem!" Ironwood said, happily.
"I realize that, yes. However, locating them is a challenge in itself. They could be anywhere." Ozpin said. "Besides, if Salem discovers their existence. It would be a race to locate them all."
"Maybe we can build a sort of... radar device to locate them?" Ryder suggests.
"Elaborate." Ironwood said.
"The Dragon Balls give off an energy signature. We use that to track the others down with a sort of Dragon Ball radar." Ryder explains.
Ironwood thinks about it for a moment.
"That could work. I'll just need to scan the orb to get a reading on the signature and have a device made to track that specific signature down." Ironwood said.
"You get the scanner and I'll hold onto the Orb until then. No offense, but I'd feel a lot more at ease with it still in my possession." Ryder said.
"Not a problem. Getting the scanner shouldn't take too long." Ironwood said.
"In the meantime, you and I will train while everyone else is shadowing Huntsmen." Ozpin said.
Ryder nods. Kairos looks at Ryder, not realizing that his partner could get even stronger. Guess he has to keep training to keep up.
