#Chapter18
The Barn
Ian's POV
Night fell upon the city like a black towel. The sky was adorned by numerous stars, each having its purpose. A cool breeze ran through the tall elephant grasses, causing them to rustle.
I had arrived at the barn a long time ago but waited for midnight to strike. Right now, I was standing next to a tall umbrella tree, planning my next move.
The barn was a few meters from where I stood. Yellow veins of light escaped the openings of the wooden structure.
There was a man in a white suit standing next to the entrance door. He held an assault rifle and was on strict alert.
I would have gone in for the kill, but I needed to rescue the elders first. The only way to do that without having them hurt the hostages was to go in as one of the guards.
The weak human at the door would serve this purpose for me. Stealthily, I crept to my target, brushing past the tall elephant grasses.
