As though Atlas had grown weary of the weight that had been bestowed upon his hardened shoulders, the world seemed to crash down on Ronan. It wasn't a graceful fall, and the pressure blistered away at him until he had to crank his jaw open and gasp in air by the mouthful.
He didn't want this. He didn't want it to go down this way. Call him weak. Call him pathetic. Hell, call him whatever the hell you want, but he didn't want it.
/"Birdie?/" he whispered, his eyes dancing between the twins. They were side by side. Angel looked thoroughly bored. He was leaning against the door, using his body to block Raven from going back in, and Raven looked as though he was contemplating using brute force to make the guy move.
/"Yeah?/"
/"Don't hurt him any more./"
