Swallowing hard, he shrugged. /"I don't think I ever have been. Not that young, at least./" He'd felt tiny before. But never that small. His mind had felt . . . fractured. Too many parts to it, and it had made even the simplest of tasks, like talking, way harder than it should have been.

The thing about apologies was that they could mean everything, or they could mean nothing. There was sincerity to his friend's tone, and pain living in the depths of his eyes. With a nod, Ronan accepted it.
