Tobias reached out for me, desperate to touch me again. His happiness at seeing me alive thrummed through our bond. I turned away from his outstretched offering. He'd failed me, they both had. If only they had got here on time, if not to save me, but to stop Bianca. Who knew what that bitch was doing to my little boy. My son, the reason I lived again, the one thing that brought me back from the depths of death because there was no way in hell I'd die without making sure he was safe. I would rip her apart with my bare hands, I would feast on her blood as I drained her dry. I didn't know if that was possible for vampires but I sure as fuck was willing to try it, and I didn't give a damn about the consequences afterward.
