#Chapter17
Choices
Nora
People say our choices lead us to a path. Each path leads us to our destiny. The first time I met Matthew was by chance. The next time I saw him, it was fate. When he came to install a light fixture, not knowing I moved across the street from him, it was destiny.
If we didn’t end up together, none of that would have happened. For five years, we had missed chances with each other. I’ve gone out with other guys, but they never compared to Matthew.
Matthew stared at me with anticipation.
/"You leave me no choice./" I made Matthew wait for my answer. /"Yes./"
/"Yes, as in, you’ll move in with me./" Matthew wasn’t sure of my answer.
/"Yes, I’ll move in with you./" I gave him a slight smile.
Matthew’s lips curled into a smile. He leaned towards me and kissed my forehead since my face had become bruised and swollen.
/"Now call your work and tell them you won’t be in./" Matthew handed me my phone.
