#Chapter28
The child shakes her head, her grip on my shirt tightening.
/"Is it anything that I can help you with?/" I ask
She glances up at me with glossy eyes, her tiny thumb in her mouth.
I mentally furrow my eyebrows at this action.
This is the first time that I have seen her suck her thumb.
Hmm.
I wonder what it means?
/"How do cookies sound?/" I ask as I remember that most kids love sugar
She slowly removes her thumb from her mouth to speak.
/"What kind of cookies?/" She asks as she places her hand in her lap
I take a moment to think over what kind of cookies we have in the house.
We have oatmeal raisin which I doubt she will like.
We have peanut butter but I do not wish to run the risk of her having an undiagnosed peanut allergy.
The only option left is chocolate chip.
/"Chocolate chip?/" I suggest
Victoria practically hops up at this suggestion.
