Chapter 3 - 3. Loss

"He is Chris. The top host, I would say. He is responsible for hosting many world famous shows as well as national and international level events. I know that's nothing you don't know about that. The thing you don't know is that he and I went to the same tuition classes and have been great friends since then." Jace concluded as he stood behind the next person.

"And this is Mathew. I call him Math because that's the one subject he hates to his bones. He is the top comedian of the industry with many notable works. He is also my first friend since I debuted."

"Next up is Dylan and Averi. Yes they are the best actor and actress and has numerous trophies and awards in their bags. But Dylan is my childhood friend with whom I share my childhood memories while Averi is my middle and high school friend with whom I share some of the most wholesome and embarrassing memories."

"And the common thing among you all besides being my cherished friend is that all of you are of a similar character when it comes to friendship. So I want to take this chance to be the bridge between you guys and make you friends and not just friend of a mutual friend. And yeah, before I forget, sign here Ave."

Without even a second thinking, Averi grabbed the pen and signed on the place Jace pointed. Only after she was done with it did she ask, " what's this?"

" A contract saying all your properties now belong to me."

"Oh… really? Then I think I should talk with grandpa Smith and say I accept all the deeds and money. What do you say?"

"You brat…"

"You started it."

"I don't have the time to fight with you. Anyway since you signed it, it means that starting today, you will flim a variety show with me."

"What's the pay?"

Jace picked up all ten fingers and showed proudly.

"Do you think you can sign me with this measly amount?"

"It's a whole hundred dollars."

"Done." Averi even banged the table to show her eagerness. " I thought it was only ten dollars. Great, I earned ten times of that."

"Damn." On the other side, Jace slammed the table because he had apparently made a 90 dollar loss.

Looking at the two of them acting like this, the other three didn't know how to react. Who knew that the two people who are at the top of their career with millions of dollars income would act like this in private, as if a hundred dollars wasn't just a hundred but a billion.

Unknown of the thoughts of the other people in the room, Averi was smiling proudly as she held the hundred dollar bill to the light and looking at it with a bright lovely smile while Jace held his chest like he was in great pain.
