2781 years later
"Congratulations, Miss and Dr. Amana, you are now parents of a healthy and beautiful girl," the nurse informed the couple that was holding hands with each other like they were on a cliff, trying to pull the one who was falling. The father was the one who looked like a mother. His face seconds ago was in so much pain as if it was him who was the mother. Compared to him, his wife didn't look like she was in pain, but she had been in great pain in her life. But now, after hearing the sweet cry of their daughter, every bit of pain has vanished as if it never existed.
" Honey breath, okay," Lan said while landing a gentle kiss on her forehead. " You are the one who needs to breathe here. She just did good, but you were like the worst patient ever yelling and crying and choking your colleagues like mad man" Kace, who just got in the room, mocked his teacher as if he knew every detail, which he did. "You punk!! you are saying this because you think you got an A on your exam, then No and I haven't checked it yet, and what you said now counts okay!!" Lan retorted, adding some threats to his poor student. At least that is what everyone in the room except him, his wife, and Kace thought. but there is more to their banter than just a very blunt teacher and humorous teacher. Well, they know themselves, the father, the former king and the king's son.
"But I got an email saying I got an A+ on three of your subjects Anatomy, Physiology, and skills of suturing course that you gave last term. What nonsense are you talking about now?" Kace retorted back with a pouty face then his face suddenly paled " Oh !!! No!! Do you mean you will consider it again?" He asked with a sad and sulky voice which earned him a smile of sympathy from everyone except of course the cause of his misery. To add more salt on top of his fresh wound Lan said " well I am glad you get it now" with a voice that sounded more like ' isn't that obvious from the beginning?'
In paradox, the nurses in the room were sad for Kace when he started mocking his teacher. Why? Because they all adored the handsome and smiley Kace. If only they knew how much agony he feels every day.
"Fine!! you know what? I take it Ba.." just when Kace was apologizing there was a knock on the door and another Dashing young man came holding a tablet in his hand and a file that looked like patient records in the other hand. He was wearing light blue scrubs and he came forward to the new parents to congratulate his teacher and his teacher's wife Karla.
The head nurse who looked in her forties came to the side of the new parents holding a beautiful baby cradled with a soft towel that was triple-checked by Lan himself. She gave the baby to her Mother. " Here holding her like this will be one of your best memories. It is just the beginning" said the nurse, putting the baby on her mother's chest. The baby relaxed immediately and started to search for her mother's breast. Karla was being washed with a feeling of relief and joy. She forgot every pain she had gone through with the presence of her daughter in her arms. Her eyes got moist, and her smile broadened.
The father, on the other hand, was hoping against hope that the nurse was going to let him hug the baby first but it didn't happen. The change of emotion could be seen on his face, especially since the two brothers in the room didn't miss it. Kace made a mental note to mock his father later on.
"Okay, everything is alright, so we are going to leave you and give you the space to name your daughter." The nurse told them and left with her team. Living the couple and baby and the siblings alone.
"So what were you about to say when I came?" Alex asked about the thing Kace was about to say when he came into the room. But instead of Kace, it was Lan " well your brother is completely the opposite of you sometimes I doubt that you are siblings" he jested making sure that Kace received a nice glare from Alex his best friend and brother in law " brother don't stare at me like that you should have seen how father was acting Kace defended himself.
Meanwhile, Lan didn't care about what Kace would say anymore, actually, he was just kidding from the beginning as his mind was occupied with his daughter. He felt betrayed when the nurse who knew him more than she knew his wife gave the baby to his wife. Anyway, he was thinking of a good name, but he couldn't get the right one except for the one he knew before. So, for now, he just looked at his wife with pleading eyes "Darling, come on I want to hug her too don't be mean" he said. His wife Karla felt sympathy he always knows what to say, oh! this adorable and cunning husband of hers. She gave him carefully, placing her in his arms. " don't play mind tricks on me, okay!!" She said, half sobbing from the joy but she knew that Lan was being like the father he is. She felt happy for her daughter; knowing Lan she would for sure grow up pampered just like in the past.
Lan cradled his baby like she was so fragile, which of course she is, but he was trying to be the most comfortable bed for her to sleep in. He felt so warm having his daughter back again, which was truly a blessing from God, and he thanked God for making their family together again. He smiled and felt sad at the same time when he looked at his son who was arguing with his son-in-law, his friend's son, Alex. His son will also save his wife, and he was happy that the two of them will have a happy future that they didn't have before. Maybe this is their chance for both the kings to be happy maybe….
"Darling and you two brats have you thought of a name," Karla asked them and then she added " I was thinking but couldn't find any except the previous one. I feel like nothing else suits her." Lan looked at his wife apologetically because he was in the same boat himself. He turned his face to the two tall guys in the room (excluding him of course.)
They were sitting a couple of meters away. The room didn't look anything like a labor room; the room was VVIP which is very wide, reserved only for the Amanay company and their close relatives. He cleared his throat and asked them to come closer to the bedside and look at them meaningfully.
"Aranya" Alex said and looked at Kace with the look of 'haha I said it first' and Kace who was unusually quiet agreed to the name being the same as in the past. He approved it with a sweet grin that stretched his face and made him look like a handsome clown.
After that, everyone agreed on the name. Alex and Kace were watching Lan like how a cat would watch another cat drinking milk. They desperately wanted to hug Araniya, the adorable baby girl; with blue eyes like her father, raven hair like her mother, a cute nose, and sweet cheeks …Their happiness was limitless which is driving them almost crazy.
"ahmm" Lan caught their attention, interrupting them from their thoughts, and he gestured for them to open their arms. That made them both beam in excitement. Lan then went close to Alex, almost giving him ; silly Alex thought he would get to hug her first, but to his dissatisfaction, Lan turned to Kace and placed baby Aranya in his arms that were prepared like a warm nest. And Kace poked his tongue at his brother and best friend, Alex didn't care though, all his neurons were thinking of Aranya.
Kace stared at her for a long while with teary eyes he said " I missed you so much sister, welcome back dear. This time we won't leave you unprotected, we will protect you with all our might!! Welcome back." He smiled at the end. He inhaled her scent which was his favorite even though he liked his wife's scent; This one will always be different and deeply valued. He knew this scent since he was 20 years old when he was blessed with a sister, a pure child. That was one of the happiest moments in his life. He got his sister, his only sibling except for that brat Alex of course who he grew up with. And now he felt the same feeling after thousands of years. Then he looked at his dear friend and he gave up on being childish and he gave Aranya for Alex to embrace.
Just as Alex cradled her in his arms, he gave a thank you to both the brat and his in-laws for their trust and the blessing they gave him; it was a "go" sign they were giving him, telling him they won't back down.
He stared at his dear wife who loved him unconditionally but never confessed that she did, but she gave her life that was the symbol of her true love for him. He chuckled sadly remembering that.
His hands were shaking from the fear of breaking her as he gently caressed her soft and fluffy cheeks and he brought her close to his face and inhaled her scent, which sent happiness through his veins. He had been longing for this scent for thousands of years—the scent that assured him of her presence. He loved this scent so much that he wished to make her stay with him starting now, but his sanity said no, it's not the time yet.
"My darling, you have no idea how much I missed you, this time I will never let you go. I will love and protect you with all my life. I will share everything you feel, be it joy or sorrow, anger or despair. I will be with you and protect you from all that is bad," he said to her softly, his voice getting shaky while trying to hold back his tears. He caressed her face again before returning her to her mother's embrace. That was because the bed for the baby wasn't here yet or maybe Karla deliberately delayed it to have time with her daughter. Everyone knew it was her, but they chose to stay silent about it.
" The bed for the baby is ready," one of the nurses from earlier announced to receive a look from Karla who she blushed in response to. The nurse checked on Aranya and Karla and went out of the room after assuring them everything was going well. " your Doctor said that you can go home tomorrow, but she also told me that you should rest. Now give me Aranya. She needs to learn some independence." Lan infuriated his wife, who wanted her daughter beside her 24/7.
" mother don't worry you can spend all your time with her later", "but listen to father only this time" Kace started the sentence and Alex finished it making Klara laugh 'this son-in-law of mine I will show you what not supporting me means' Lan mused annoyedly, " I think you two should go we don't want any suspicion about your identity right?. .. our Identity I mean" saying that Lan kicked the boys out of the room.
