Chapter 6 - Sun set show

The sunset show

Her mother rushed to the door where Aranya was standing. "What happened to you, my dear?" Karla asked worriedly, hugging tight which made Ara wince in pain while her father just stared at her while waiting for her response. " Mom Dad I swear they have nothing to do with this don't blame Teaz and his team for this it is entirely my fault I should have called them earlier when I sensed danger" Aranya spoke with teary eyes when she saw the way her father looked at Teaz it was scary.

Lan cleared his throat and said "Wait in your room laying down on your bed I will be there in no time" he said with a hoarse voice that gave Ara no chance to protest. She went straight to the stairs and climbed upstairs trying not to show that she was in pain, but too bad her father's observant eyes didn't miss a single detail. After hearing the click of their daughter's room he turned to Teaz who was standing at the door not daring to go inside after his failure. " sorry Madam and Master I failed to protect her and I will accept whatever the punishment would be" he paused before reporting the event based on what Aranya told him and the copy he got from his colleague that was dealing with the cctv but mid-way the masters face softened a bit after hearing what his daughter did from another person this time his wife Karla was confused but understood what happened latter 'It must be that they were with her' she thought.

"Don't worry about this anymore, just make sure it doesn't happen again," Karla said softly. Teaz was so shocked at the same time Happy for not getting punished it was understandable that he would be shocked when he hears that he is not being punished by the same man who was giving him deadly glares in front of Aranya and now nothing was happening. He just stayed standing at the door for a couple of seconds before Lan spoke again making him even more shocked. "Don't stand like that. I knew this before you arrived here and even at the time of the commotion because I have installed a controller on her phone secretly so that is how" he grinned meaning fully at him which Teaz understood immediately. Indeed the first part was true but the latter was partially true it was Karla who continued this time "Look Teaz don't be too surprised as you know our daughter is not unreasonable we just wanted to let her know that she shouldn't do things like this she should call for help because she could be hurt in her reckless actions. But I am so proud of her she can protect herself darling your hard work paid off" She smiled at her husband at the mention of being proud he also smiled before saying "Of course who do you think I am" and he rushed to his daughter's room leaving Karla to deal with poor Teaz and luck Teaz.

It didn't take Lan too long to reach his daughter's room. He smelled the lilac flower and he saw the things around her door. There were plants and the lilac he smelled. His daughter was the kind who adored nature and he liked this behavior even though she was always childish he knew, but he also knew that it was not the case with her classmates; they thought of her as a heartless rich girl who would get whatever she wanted. For them she was a bully, for the school she was a chance of fortune except for Samarta who admired her intelligence and all of her. She didn't care about the rumor that her grades were tampered with and her parents bribe the school. She didn't believe any of it because she saw how talented Araniya was. For her relatives she was precios well at least for her grandparents she is but the rest despised her for being the next heir of the company they always set her up to trap to make her look like a bad girl, but even if the world believed them and think that she was a terribly spoiled teenager it doesn't work on her parents; for her parents she was everything but bad they knew her mind and trust her with all their heart for them she was their little luna no one can change that. Lan chuckled thinking all of that. Now he knew exactly where she was; on her balcony enjoying the sunset despite his order. He knocked on the door for a formality.

Aranya was finally at the door of her room after the most painful climbing of the stairs. Her body was sore everywhere. She opened her door and she saw the window to the balcony open and the sun was disappearing below the horizon. She giggled excitedly, she looked back and forth at her bed and at the balcony. In the end, she went to the balcony and started enjoying the mesmerizing view, and sat down on the floor without a care in the world. But soon she heard a knock on the door. She didn't mind it as she knew who it is, instead, she remembered that she was supposed to take a rest, but it was too late now. " you can come in Dad" she yelled with the little energy she could muster. He entered her room and he wasn't surprised to see her on the balcony.

"Little Luna, I clearly remember that I told you to lay down and try to relax. I didn't say there is a sunset show. Or did I? Hmmm" Lan spoke softly as he approached her "Come take my hand," he said as she looked up at him with guilty eyes. She took his hand without a question to stand up. They went back inside. "I will go bring the first aid kit and some medicines till then change into something more comfortable. wait here" he said and went to her closet he grabbed a blue pajama and threw the pajama on her bed. "it is better if you wear your pajamas because you are not leaving your bed today," Lan said as he helped her sit on her bed. She winced a little when she sat. He left her room to bring her medicines.

"Aww" Ara whined as she changed her clothes. "Why didn't I call them earlier? I am so stupid; now I can't even leave my bed" she murmured to herself. 'Dad is going to stitch my wounds, I am so doomed!!!' She almost cried thinking of the needles. Her hands started sweating and shaking when the door of Her room opened. Lan strode into the room while pushing something that looked like a cart in a hospital. Ara looked at her dad who was looking like the cool guy from the movies, except for her he wasn't because of the things that he brought with him.

" Are you angry? Did you do something to Teaz?" She asked the bugging question in her mind. "No little Luna, I am not angry. I was upset to see you hurt whatever you did. It wasn't entirely your fault so don't feel guilty and the kids are not badly injured. They fainted because you hit them on the right spot and they won't face any problem except a sore neck. you took your lesson from me after all" he boasted proudly before he continued "And about Teaz I didn't do anything obviously I know you are difficult to deal with so…" he teased her while giving her a glass of water and an analgesic tablet. He noticed that her throat was dry when she spoke earlier; this is how he is he doesn't miss a single detail of whatever he was dealing with and it was a piece of cake when it came to Ara.

After a few minutes, the room looked like a hospital ward. He set up the glucose on the corner of her bed, the bed had long posts. Ara was staring at her father while he prepared everything before he asked her to try to sleep. She closed her eyes obediently. Her intention wasn't to sleep but to avoid the sight of the needle and thread plus the IV was a real headache to her. As if reading her mind her father cupped her face with his hand "Don't be scared I will be gentle as always and I can help you sleep first before I start okay" he assured her he moved his hand to her neck and started massaging the right side just below her ear making her relax that was her weak spot that she was born with, a little bit touch and she would sleep like a baby.

But right now she was scared of sleeping either. "Dad, I don't want to sleep, actually I am not scared of the stitching and all the stuff" she lied smoothly.

"Are you having that nightmare, is it bothering you again?" He asked her and she nodded truthfully, in fact, he knew that she would be having nightmares as it has been three months since Alex and Kace came. Of course, Ara has no idea who those people were or what they did to stop her nightmares of the massacre.

"I will be here, and I will wake you up if you start to have it. I will know it easily from your breathing if your sleep is peaceful or not." He tried to convince her while checking her vital signs. He saw that she was a little warm and he noticed she was stressed about the possibility of having a nightmare. He asked her to try to relax more. "My dear little Luna you are having a fever and also it looks like you didn't eat much today, and have you felt dizzy somewhere in the day?" He knew that she didn't eat and that she felt dizzy because Alex had already mind-linked him on what he did to help her.

"I didn't eat because I wasn't feeling hungry and I felt dizzy when I was fighting. I am sure that someone hit me from behind, but I don't know who. And it got my vision blurry for a moment but I got over it quickly" She smiled proudly at how capable she was. With that proved, Lan grabbed the IV tube that he prepared earlier. He cleaned her hand with something that smelled like alcohol. She flinched and retracted her hand from his at the sight of the needle.

"Ara, you should have eaten and now you have no other choice, but to be a good girl. I promise you that I will be gentle and you won't feel pain." He coaxed her as he took her hand back and wiped it again. He looked into her eyes which reflected the fear she was in despite the trust she has for him. He knew his little Luna was sensitive when it comes to needles, he wished to know the reason she cowers away at the sight of needles while she is always brave to do anything a sane teenager would be scared of. He always wondered if it was somehow related to the past.

"You can close your eyes," he said " I don't want to sleep" she answered him curtly. He looked at the window as if something caught his attention and was amazed by it. Ara got curious and she turned to face the window. Lan used this chance and inserted the needle gently into the back of her hand. "See it wasn't that bad, was it?" he asked nonchalantly, making Ara realize what just happened while he removed the needle very gently and warped a tape around the tube and her hand.

"You tricked me" she accused, but she was happy that she didn't notice it. "What can I say I have some tricks up my sleeves don't underestimate your father" he retorted the look in his eyes said 'I fooled you yey!' and continued "How do you think I deal with difficult patients and your angry mother very rarely" she giggled at the mention of her mother.

"But thank you! anyway," she said in a tired voice.

"Don't force yourself to stay up. I told you I will wake you up if you have any nightmare" he said, his hands going to her neck again. " but" "There is no but I will be here and I bet you don't want to be awake while I stitch your wounds" he shushed her just like that. She was in a dilemma between the nightmare and the dreaded needles. She closed her eyes and a few seconds later her breathing turned even, indicating that she was asleep, but he knew better than to be fooled by his mischievous daughter and kept on massaging the spot just below her ear, he knew she was struggling not to fall asleep. But too bad for her Lan is determined and she can't resist the tiredness she was feeling because of the massage 'agggr that stupid massage' she thought and she opened her eyes just before she could sleep.

"Dad please! I don't want to sleep please I am scared of those ugly dreams," Ara almost cried. Lan leaned on to her and kissed her forehead softly and creased her face " It's okay I will be here with you and I have been peacefully asking you to sleep right?" He asked her and before she could answer him her eyes turned heavy and her breathing got deeper and even.
