Clasping his hands behind his back, a man clad in black plate armor with bright silver hair gazed at the barren wasteland before the castle walls he stood over. "Say, Geoffrey, is there no way to prevent a battle between the dragons and the titans?"
Shaking his head, an old man with long white hair replied as he looked at the man in armor, "Unfortunately, John, I don't see any possibility of stopping the war, other than if the gods were to intervene themselves."
"Haaah, I see. So then it is safe to assume that His Majesty and his family have already fled the city?" John let out a sigh.
"Um-hum," Geoffrey nodded with his eyes closed.
With a slight nod, John spoke, "Huuuuf, ask William to start evacuating the citizens. I contacted the elves, and they said they will keep the citizens safe until the war reaches them."
"They agreed to that?" Geoffrey asked as he looked at John.
Nodding his head, John replied as he sat on the castle walls, "I too was in shock when I heard the words of the elvish ambassador. However, once I heard his reasoning, it made sense to me."
"Mind enlightening me on your conversation with them?" Geoffrey leaned against the walls and looked at John.
Letting out a small sigh, John spoke, "They have decided to place their bets on us to end this war somehow. I think even those arrogant fools know that aside from us, no one stands a chance against those two races."
"I see. Well, I suppose the Elven Queen wasn't as foolish as you spoke of her, old friend," Geoffrey said with a laugh.
"Hahaha, well all I can do is regret that we never really got the chance to grow a family, I suppose," John replied with a bitter smile.
"Huh, I see you still regret your decision to let her leave your side all those years ago," Geoffrey said as he looked at John before turning his face towards the city inside.
"How could I not, old friend? How could I not," John replied with a sad laugh.

One week later, on the barren wasteland before the fortress, two large armies stared at each other. One was made up entirely of massive human-like giants, and the other was made up of gigantic dragons.
Right in the middle of these two armies stood a small group of five people, standing back to back with each other.
"Hey, John, how sure are you that we'll survive this?" said a man who stood beside a massive red broadsword as he faced John, who wielded a simple blue spear and wore a majestic black plate armor that complimented his long white hair.
"You serious, Edward?" John replied with a hint of surprise and annoyance at the well-built man.
"Right, I expected as much," Edward said with an awkward laugh.
Diverting his attention to the matter at hand, John looked at Geoffrey and spoke, "Geoffrey, you and I will approach the leaders of the two races and try one last time to see if there is a way to end this diplomatically. If not, then let's be prepared for the worst."
With a slight nod, Geoffrey gripped his wand firmly and replied, "Huff, okay! Edward, William, both of you follow me, and Henry, you go with John."
"Okay, guys, let's meet on the other side after this fight's over," John said as he looked at the others.
"FOR VICTORY!" The group toasted before going to their assigned tasks.

On one side of the battlefield, standing before a gigantic black dragon with golden streaks running through its body, John spoke, "Lord Pallas, it is I, the imperial knight of the Imperial Dominion, and I come here before you once more, seeking to find a possible diplomatic solution for the war at hand. Your majesty, please heed my words, as your war with the giants will harm the two ancient races and cause unfathomable damage to the rest of Gaia itself. Your Highness, please reconsider this war of yours."
Scratching his chin, the dragon lord spoke to John with an almost amused expression, "Hmm, John, I believe, was the name you told me the last time you came before me. Human, I commend your effort, strength, and bravery to have come to me twice to ask the same thing, Perhaps if you were one of my kin, we could have been good friends..."
After a slight pause, an incredible aura began to gush out of the dragon lord's body as he spoke angrily, "But human, do not take advantage of my patience. Those bastards have killed the heir to my throne. There is no option other than all-out war."
As such, the negotiations with the dragons broke down. Similarly, the talks weren't faring any better on the other side of the battlefield.
"I, Geoffrey, the grand wizard of the Imperial Dominion, come here before you, Lord Kostas, emperor of the titans, once more seeking a diplomatic resolution for the war at hand. Your majesty, your war with the dragons will harm not only the two ancient races but will likely leave the rest of Gaia itself in an unrecognizable state. Your Highness, please reconsider this war of yours," said Geoffrey as he greeted the titan lord with an apt warning.
The titan emperor considered Geoffrey's words before shaking his head. "I understand your concern, but my hands are tied in this matter. The death of my son cannot go unanswered."
"Unfortunately, your majesty, it seems that we have reached an impasse. The lives of countless innocents are at stake if this war continues. Is there not a way for us to find a resolution that does not involve further loss of life?" Geoffrey implored, hoping to find a way to prevent the impending conflict.

As the group stood in the middle of the battlefield, the tension was palpable. The armies of dragons and titans towered over them, their eyes locked in a fierce gaze, ready for battle.
Clad in his black armor and wielding his spear, John turned to his companions. "We've tried everything we can to prevent this war. But it seems that our efforts were in vain. All that's left for us now is to fight with all our might and hope for a miracle."
Geoffrey, the grand wizard of the Imperial Dominion, nodded gravely. "I agree. We may not stand a chance against these ancient races, but we can at least try to minimize the damage to Gaia and its inhabitants."
Edward, the burly warrior with the red broadsword, let out a fierce battle cry. "We'll show them what the Imperial Dominion is made of! For victory!"
"Let's do this then," Edward said, gripping his red broadsword tightly. "For the sake of our families and the future of Gaia."
Henry nodded, readying his bow and arrows. "For the people who depend on us," he added.
William unsheathed his sword and held it aloft. "For victory!" he shouted.
Geoffrey sighed and closed his eyes, muttering a quick prayer under his breath. When he opened them, there was a fierce determination in his gaze. "For our loved ones, and for the world's peace," he said.
The group stood back to back, ready to face their fate. As the armies charged toward them, they closed their eyes and prayed for a miracle.
