I had nothing to do at home, so I decided to go outside to look at this world. There was still fear inside me that I would be smashed if I were to go outside, but I had somehow suppressed my fear and walked outside after changing my clothes. I had no idea why I did, what I did. I wore a hoodie and pulled up the hood to cover my face. Maybe it was my protection mechanism to my handsome figure. I had just walked out of the door after locking it, that my cell phone rang. I was curious to check who was calling me at this time. Surprisingly the name ID was Gwen. I picked it up, and said, "Bruce Wayne here, who's it?" There was silence on the other side of the call, and a stuttering reply came from the other side, "Gwen.. Gwen Stacy. What's wrong with you Bruce? Why are you talking like that?"
I replied in the best normal voice as I could, "Nothing, just practicing what they call professionalism. So what's up?" Gwen was silent on the other side, but then she said, "So Peter had decided to take all of us to lunch, and he has asked you to come. " I joked, "It sounds like I got a date for myself. " It was just meant to be joke, but when I heard Gwendolyn's reply, I was surprised. She said hurriedly, "No.. It..It is not a date.. Just a casual meeting between friends. " I smiled at this and reached a conclusion, "Gwendolyn.. If you had planned a date for me, just say it. No need to involve the single Peter in it. He would just feel awkward being there alone. " Gwen hate the fact that I call her Gwendolyn. This was her original name. She didn't like that name very much, so she usually introduced herself as Gwen. So no one other than Gwen's family, Peter and me knows about her real name. Not that she has any other friends, though Gwen was the most beautiful person I had seen, or the Bruce Wayne, the previous owner of the body had seen in his life. I had no idea why, but despite being handsome, he was still single.
Gwen humphed on the phone and ended the call, after saying, "It's your wish. If you want to come or not. I won't force you. " I noticed her angry tone and smiled to myself. Meanwhile, Gwen Stacy, a natural blonde, whose hair was close to white than blonde, but her lower lip in frustration. She was angry when her crush, Bruce Wayne had teased her by calling her real name. She really did hate her name. It was as if her father George Stacy, never wanted opposite gender to come close to her, by naming her Gwendolyn. The name does sound ancient.
She was frustrated because she was afraid that by listening to her words, if Bruce really not go to the lunch, that would be the worst possible thing to happen on their first date. Although she didn't want to admit it, she was clear in her heart that she liked Bruce Wayne. He was everything a girl could ask for. Kind, caring, handsome, smart.. Though he had those first two characteristics only in front of those he want to. Just when Gwen was frustrated, her focus broke away from the thought of Bruce, when her phone dinged. It was a notification. She picked it up, when she saw it was a text message from Bruce. Fearing that Bruce was probably angry with her, her hands shook a little. But taking a deep breath, she opened the message. It was a simple sentence, "You have to tell me the location before hanging up the call, Gwendolyn (wink)." Gwen's face turned red when she read that text. She understood that he was teasing her, but he was right. She did really hung up the call, without giving him a location for the date. And Gwen was in no mood to stretch the topic, so she immediately typed the location and time on her phone. Just as she had sent the location, she received another message from Bruce. When she read it, her face was again red. The text read, "Would I get a kiss, considering it our date (eager face emoji)?" Gwen was somehow able to get over the shyness, and text back, "Nope. Good things need to be earned. " Then she smiled to herself victoriously. But her victory didn't last for too long, since the next message was, "At least you agree that this is our date. And there is still a chance for me. So I will just make sure to get it. See ya later at our date. " Gwen was surprised at Bruce's skills. It really made her doubt, although she knew Bruce was smart, but for someone to become smart enough to get something from other smart people, that's hard.
She did consider herself smart, and so did her best friend Peter Parker. She had known both Bruce and Peter from her childhood. Bruce was the guy, who protected both of them from being bullied. But mostly he protected Gwen from getting bullied, because of being beautiful. She did get a lot of love letters over her school years, but she had obviously rejected all of them, since she had someone in her heart. Just she was afraid to admit it openly, in the fear that the other person might not feel the same.
She did like Bruce a lot. He was like the knight in shining armour for her. Peter did stand up for her a few times, but Gwen considered him as nothing more than a friend, well probably a brother too. Since she already wanted one, and Peter was the closest to what she thought of a brother. And Peter, who had been the only child, and had no idea where his parents were, also saw Gwen as his younger sister. He did have a crush. That chick was the worst, Mary Jane. Gwen wanted to tell him to stop focussing on her, since she was the worst choice. She was practically like a slut, sleeping with almost everyone. She had slept with the rich kid, Harry Osborn. She had slept with the famous bully, Flash. There were also rumours that she had slept with some teacher to get good marks. There were also other rumours like she had slept with a director to land a role in a play.
Shaking her head, she cleared her thoughts. Because today, it was all about her and Bruce. There would also be Peter, but she had decided to send him to other table, so as not to disturb her first ever date with Bruce.
