Chapter 84 - Chapter 83 – Scourge of the Caustic Wastes (Boss Fight) Part 1

Coming to my senses, I scanned the dungeon core chamber and noticed nothing out of the ordinary. Well, there was a pile of ash sitting at the base of the dungeon core's supporting obelisk, the amulet of Lucas' ancestor which was worn by that wraith from earlier resting atop the pile of ash. I guess, I succeeded in freeing that wayward soul (requiescat in pace, anima persa). Picking up the amulet, I once again faced the dungeon core and placed my hands on it. as a result a message appeared,

"Congratulations, you have completed the Quest: Master of Dungeons Part 1

-I shall claim all dungeon for myself! Try and stop me, challenger! – Random Dungeon Master

"Notice: You have completed the maximum difficulty for this trial and our awarded complete control over the dungeon and all its inhabitance and resources. You may also transport places and creatures who exist in the dungeon Core realm."

"Please note, the Dungeon Core Realm is currently powered by: Baleful energy. To convert the energy source into different power source, the dungeon must be transported to another location."

That's nice to see! Additionally, I switched to my system menu and saw even more additional menu options.

~System Menu~

Seeing the new menu options, I was tempted to start browsing them, but stopped as I had more pressing matters to attend to. Still with my hand on the dungeon core, I spoke out,

"Show me the current state of the dungeon."

"Inquiry received! Calculating…Please wait… Inquiry Results tabulated… Dungeon: Baronac's Cradle currently known as Baronac Dungeon is operating on standby with a focus on… Error… contamination detected… Commencing decontamination protocol… Error Decontamination not possible in current state. Manual removal of contaminants is required. Alert: Energy reserves are at 15%... dungeon shutdown will commence is…100 sols. Notice: Dungeon master has not finished registration. Would you like to complete registration?"

The systematic response to my command was very pleasant as a female voice almost like S**i spoke to me. After hearing the question, I responded with a "yes." Much like the system menu calibration, I experienced in and out states of consciousness, but I did not fall to the ground as magoi supported my body during the process. Once finished, Dori (the name of the female assistant voice. I named her myself!!) spoke up again,

"Registration complete. Dungeon Master: Henry Markov-Lysenko… Authorization Level: Divine Overlord… You are now able to fully access the Dungeon core. Please choose from the following options…"

After speaking, Dori presented six commands I could choose from,

Status // Guardian Command

Floor Controls // Core Control

Master Protocol // Log off

Recalling the whole contamination thing from earlier, I decided to logoff and head out of the chamber, evoking the portal back to the 3rd floor. Once I arrived, I noticed everyone's gaze facing my direction. Not surprised by their glances, I headed over to my party who had many questions, but I could only answer with the following,

"I have completed our quest within this dungeon and became the new master. It is time for us to leave this place."

Saying this much, Cavilhaugh, Anansi and the two ladies prepared to head back to the dungeon entrance, when the floor began to shake.

RUMBLE!!

Off into the distance, I was able to see a giant serpentine body burst through the roof of the floor and with it a swarm of some kind of grotesque monster. Shii… that bastard serpent decided to rear it head after all this time. Not standing on ceremony, I put my newly obtain powers to use and summoned the floor guardian here. I even channeled energy into the withering Abyssal treant and activated his now deceased body as a colossal golem.

In a flash, the four floor guardians assembled with a host of dungeon residents floating around them. Additionally, using the dungeon's remaining energy, I evoked Ra's domain over the floor guardians and my party to ensure no one dies during this final clash of the titans. In response Midgardsormr spoke out in indignation,

"Little Bobble!! Did you think I would not find you? Did you think you could leave my influence? How dare you try and usurp the authority that is rightfully mine!!! Die now for your insolence!"

"For a bastard snake, you sure talk way too damn much. Not to worry, I watched how one floor guardian almost sent you to meet you maker. Now all four will not waste a single ounce of effort to completely destroy you. Know this, you corpse will be the best material for me and the dungeon. For that, I thank you for your sacrifice. Kill the bastard snake and spare no effort to exterminate its fouls ilk!"

I said in response to the snake. Learning from its interaction with the 1st floor's floor guardian, I knew this bastard would try to run when it noticed death knocking at the door. Therefore, I had the four guardians enter their most powerful state and bombard the serpent with their ultimate attacks. The result, a colossal explosion which stretched as far as the eye could see. The blast seemed to affect my ability to hear, as no sounds of any kind could be heard.

Everything happened extremely fast. The 1st floor guardian expanded its four wings while creating a giant beam cannon out of its axe. The 2nd floor guardian assumed the same appearance as Midgardsormr, only she was covered in lava and flames. The guardian fired a plasma beam as wide as the Burj Khalifa is tall. The 3rd floor guardian stood up and ripped a hole in its bark chest revealing a dark space which fired a tiny black hole that expanded the moment it was close to its target.

Lastly, the 4th floor guardian which I had obtained from the trials quest took on the form of my Bloodlust avatar. It appearance was a Colossus with four heads wearing dragon masks. The Avatar wore dragon scale plated armor and had a dragon's tail above its butt.

Jetting from its back were 6 wings. 2 were feathered dragon wings stretched out to the sky. Then 2 membranous dragon wings wrapped its waist. Lastly, the remaining 2 wings were ethereal dragon wings made of the dungeon's energy. With its 12 arms wielding plasmasabers, the 4th floor guardian fired a barrage of sword waves which fused with the other attacks sent by the other 3 floor guardians.

The blast was enough to wipe out Duxley as a whole. But instead of creating an epic scar of destruction arrayed with debris, the Abyssal Treant's black hole absorbed every shockwave and all debris. Thereafter, it began shrinking down and dissipating into thin air.

Everything appeared as though the giant blest never existed. It gave of the impression nothing was able to withstand this attack. Or that's what I hoped for. Instead, a pale, almost ghastly green barrier blocked the attack just now. Silence filled the floor, but not for long. Soon a laughter replaced the still silence,

"Hahaha…HAHAHA!!! Yes!! Struggle with every ounce of your being, little bobble!!. Only then can you call yourself a child of the firstborn!!"
