Well…Shit… I was hoping the serpent would have been done in by that blast, but I couldn't have been more wrong in my life. To make matters worse, the Dori kept sounding alert after alert,
"Alert: Dungeon energy reserve is at critical. Switching to "Conservation mode". Note: Portal creation has been reduced to dungeon exit creation only."
"Alert: Highly toxic anomaly detect!! Auto-decontamination in progress… Alert: Auto-decontamination failure, energy reserves are too low. Manual decontamination is required."
"Alert Dungeon overall energy is at critical. Auto energy conversion is in effect. Note: floor guardian may be destroyed during energy conversion."
Although Dori's messages mentioned the energy reserves were low, the dungeon still managed to remain operational… for now. As a side note, the floor guardians can be killed if I am not careful. To prevent them from dying while fighting the serpent, I need some kind of alternate energy source. Thinking this much, I inquired of Dori,
"Can these abominations be used as a temporary power source?"
"Query received, analyzing. Please wait… Notice: Highly mutated lifeforms detected. Potential energy contamination likely."
"So that's a no…. Okay, convert geothermal energy to temporary baleful energy from floors 2 and 6. Prioritize powering combat active floor guardians."
"Command received. Energy conversion in progress… Notice! Please be advised energy conversion rate at .07% per second. Estimate time for energy reserve to reach full capacity is 3 sols, 12 weeks, 4 days, 27 hours, 31 minutes and 29 seconds… "
Finishing my interaction with Dori, I turned my focus back to the serpent and its legion of mutants. There is no way my party and I can face that massive swarm of monsters by ourselves. With the floor guardians facing Midgardsormr on the back foot, I need to somehow muster an army large enough to buy time. Just enough time to allow the guardians to recharge and fire another volley. Turning my attention to the Abyssal elves, I relayed my intent.
"Although I had not seen you as a part of elven society, I will withhold my bigotry. As right now, this dungeon is under attack by an intrusive demon of a dark age. I will not command you to fight and die for me, especially after the events that led to my arrival here. What I will ask is that you fight for your elder who is to be the first of many elves restored to their former glory. Those who survive, will receive the same blessing the moment the dungeon is reformed."
Not waiting for a response, I assumed my usual combat stance and took to the air; both swords in hand. Behind me on the ground were Anansi, Cavilhaugh, Ivy and Katya battle ready and charging a head. They didn't need me to give directions nor did we need to come up with any tactics. There are no useful strategies in the face of undoubtable might. Therefore, I didn't even bother trying to plan my way out.
Once close enough, I released my Bloodlust Avatar which is separate in appearance from the avatar currently acting as a floor guardian. This avatar retained the appearance of a fully armored like an Egyptian pharaoh with 4 heads covered in masks. I also evoked Ra's Domain around my party and headed straight into the densest pack of enemies. Cavilhaugh summoned the Valkyrie with a blazing greatsword, Ivy evoked her bulldozer vine beasts and Katya had her golems use their modified laser beam attacks.
"Whatever happens, stay alive!"
Ivy said to the others before separating from the group. I'm not al too sure why she ran off, but I know she can handle herself at the moment. Anyway, its time to rid my dungeon of this mutant monster filth! Raising my swords, I fired a volley of sword waves. My volley was then followed by my Bloodlust Avatar diving directly into the horde of mutants, the shockwave from its landing ripped many of the monsters to shreds.
Once on the ground, my avatar reaped the lives of these monsters, though there was no end to them. The cretins came in all different shapes and sizes, yet they all shared key features. Each of the land striding mutants had putrid puss oozing out from between the crevasses of their pale blacked molted scales. This puss was as a rancid brown in color and as thick as tar.
The fumes created by the puss when hitting the ground was nauseating as a caustic aura corroded everything too close them. Each mutant had a different variation of horns, curves, straight, jagged, branched, etc. Finally, they all had cobra hood flares with maws of crocodiles; genetic feature proving they are Midgardsormr's filthy ilk.
I too had been swarmed by flying abominations. Much like their kin on the ground they had horns, cobra hood flares and crocodile maws. In addition, they all had the same insect wings similar to a stonefly's. Instead of the putrid puss falling to the ground, it evaporated with every wing flap creating a deathly fog surround each abomination.
Filled with complete and utter disgust, I fired spells like Nether Flarebolt, Flaming Javelin, Chain Lightning, and other mid-range spells to thin their numbers. Afterwards, I continued to evoke an AOE spell Windstorm to clear up this revolting caustic fog. My efforts were seemingly in vain, as for every 3 slain, 5 would take their place; the fog returning as their numbers swelled.
Meanwhile, Anansi, Cavilhaugh, Katya and her golems rained death upon any mutant that entered their attack range. Their attacks had been supported by Ra's domain which continuously fired deadly spelled. Spells such as solar beams, radioactive laser waves, elements spears, and other spells I had programmed into the spell.
The benefit of being inside that illusion realm has finally showed itself as Ra's domain officially integrated with my arcane art Elemental Saber Arts. All that's left is to integrate spells like Atomicsaber and my spell formula will be complete. Anyway, I won't have to fuel Ra's Domain as the monsters it kills are vaporized then absorbed into the massive multi-color core in the center of 42 smaller stellar cores.
Originally, I thought we'd be the only ones fighting, but I am glad I was wrong. Over to the left of me and my party, a horde abyssal elves were fighting the mutant horde, good! Even the stronger abyssal elves which bore similar equipment as Elder Aliandorith joined the battle as the kept plunging to the ground inside their fruit-like incubation pods. The moment they joined the frontlines, the abyssal elves' numbers reached 15,000, but will only be able to stave off the hordes, not eliminate their swelling numbers.
Luckily for our forces, the dungeon floor monsters still rained death upon the invading mutants. The Abyssal Treant was no longer giving out orders to the floor monsters, as its sapling rested in my inventory, Despite this, the mini abyssal treants still instructed the dungeon floor's monsters to fight against the mutants. With the new additions, all-out war ensued between my party, the abyssal elves, floor monsters and the floor guardians against Midgardsormr and its horde of mutant monsters.
