Chapter 22 - "The Gelfies Meditation: A Technique for Improving Spiritual Power and Creating Magic Tools"

The Gelfies Meditation is a technique that involves visualizing a complex object in the mind and meditating to improve it, which enhances spiritual power. According to the book, practicing this meditation method can make a person a magician, allowing them to turn the objects they visualize into reality and create a powerful companion magic tool. The founder of this meditation method, the senior great magician Gelfies, was able to create a companion magic tool through this method and achieve the highest level of the technique when he became a magician.

Alex's most vivid memory of a precise object is when he secretly disassembled his grandfather's watch as a child. He remembers the tiny gears operating in an orderly manner within a small space, making the memory particularly clear in his mind. On his first attempt at meditation, Alex cautiously visualized the outline of a clock in his mind before slowly opening his eyes.

The first time Alex practiced meditation, he felt uneasy as he had no guidance and was afraid of making mistakes. The process felt like a year to him, but according to the, it was supposed to make him feel refreshed and have black mud come out of his body. However, Alex had low expectations for the meditation method, so he was not disappointed when it did not work as described.

Instead, he felt relieved. Alex then went to the cemetery and built a zombie crypt in the town hall. There was a sudden explosion and the town hall felt like it was experiencing a slight earthquake. When Alex went to check, he saw that a new building had appeared in the cemetery. It was a semi-underground palace made of Gray-black stones and had windows that emitted Alex smoke, giving off an eerie feeling. Alex's consciousness entered the crypt.

Inside the crypt, Alex saw a hall filled with sarcophagi. The hard-skinned ghoul, who had been captured before, seemed happy to be in the crypt. Previously, he could only wander in ruins, but now he lay in the largest sarcophagus, surrounded by Alex air that seemed to give him energy.

Alex also noticed that there are two types of troops that can be recruited in the crypt: zombies and ghouls. Both cost the same amount of psionic power, but Alex preferred ghouls due to their appearance and combat power. While zombies have thick skin and are resistant to fighting, they are slow, while ghouls are fast and can climb. While zombies would be good in a frontal battle, Alex believed that the mobile ghouls would work better with gun skeleton soldiers.

Alex made the decision to recruit the five ghouls that came with the crypt. Upon hearing a low roar, the ghouls crawled out of the coffins one after another. This operation depleted most of Alex's spiritual energy, making him realize how weak it was. For the next few days, Alex focused on practicing meditation.

As he practiced, the clock he visualized in his mind became increasingly realistic, even making the sound of the clockwork running. Alex also noticed that after practicing the Gelfies Meditation, the clock he visualized in his mind was reflected in the cemetery, creating a clock tower on top of the town hall. The bell on the tower was exactly what he had imagined, and it rang every twenty-four hours, echoing throughout the cemetery.

Alex was surprised to find that his meditation practice had an impact on the cemetery, which made him nervous as it was his root, and he did not want any problems. Fortunately, the big bell that appeared as a result of the meditation had no negative effects. In fact, the big clock in the cemetery helped him directly create the clock he had visualized during meditation. According to the third edition of the Gelfies Meditation Method, completing the construction of the meditation object is considered the completion of the meditation method. The next step is to constantly practice and refine it, with the hope of one day evolving it into a magic tool. It usually takes three to five years to reach this step, even for gifted magical geniuses. Alex's magical talent is average, so it would normally take him at least seven or eight years. However, he has managed to save a significant amount of time.

Meditation is only a method and cannot significantly increase Alex's spiritual power on its own. However, it can help him progress faster and more efficiently. Alex understands this and has experienced a rapid increase in his spiritual power while practicing meditation in the cemetery, where the presence of a big bell has helped him reach the level of an intermediate magic apprentice in a few days.

Additionally, Alex has discovered that he is able to generate psionic energy while practicing meditation. Initially, he estimated that six hours of meditation in the cemetery can generate one psychic energy, which may seem small. However, Alex has only been practicing for a few days and still has room for improvement. As he advances to a formal magician and potentially even a great magician, the amount of psionic power he can generate is likely to be much larger.

Early in the morning, Alex had practiced meditation all night and was feeling stiff. He was standing on the balcony and stretching when he saw a burgundy horse galloping into the main entrance of the castle. He was surprised and wondered who it could be, daring to ride a horse directly into the castle. Alex watched as the horse made its way to the gate of the castle, but he could not see who was riding it due to the angle.

He was not particularly interested in finding out the identity of the person and was planning to go to see Old One Eye to retrieve the enchanted rifle he had ordered. In fact, Old One Eye had sent a letter the previous day saying the gun had arrived and Alex could pick it up at any time. However, Alex had other tasks to attend to and when he was finished, it was already dark. Old One Eye's shop was also closed, so he had put it off until today.
