Chapter 23 - "ERZA GOLDERT"

Alex returned to the room and noticed that it was still early, as the old one-eyed had not yet opened the door. Alex was looking forward to receiving the batch of enchanted rifles because they had been transformed into firearm skeleton soldiers with a combat power of 6.3, which was the strength of an intermediate apprentice knight. This level of strength would make Alex an elite soldier in the Kingdom Knights, and he could even be promoted to an officer.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Before Alex could open it, the door was pushed open from the outside and Alvis entered with a girl wearing leather armour. Alex recognised the girl as Erza GOLDERT, the daughter of Alvis uncle and a close friend of Alex. Erza had been recommended by Viscount Ashby to attend the Knights Academy in Fearon the previous year. When Erza saw Alex, she was surprised that he had become a necromancer and proudly patted him on the shoulder.

Since spring break had not yet arrived at the Knight Academy, Alex questioned Erza's return. Erza revealed that the reason she had returned from her vacation was because she had learned about Lelisa's attempted kidnapping, and she wanted to find out who was responsible. With her tiny fist, she promised to bring all the inhabitants of the Tower of Yin Spirits to justice.

Alvis and Erza left after talking with Alex about the past, including the kidnapping and the puzzling disappearance of the Tower of Yin Spirits, and Alex headed to the old one-eyed store to get the enchanted firearms. The elderly man with one eye greeted him when he got there with a loud chuckle, happy that Alex had finally come to get the stuff.

Alex nodded frequently. He was very satisfied with the quality of the thirty enchanted rifles. Immediately, his mind moved, and he cast spells silently. After five consecutive uses of spiritism, he summoned fifteen skeleton soldiers in front of the old one-eyed, methodically. Open the box with the rifles, throw away the daggers and shields in his hands, and pick up the enchanted rifles one by one.

The old one-eyed was surprised to see that after more than a dozen skeleton soldiers with thick bones picked up their rifles and bullets, Alex immediately used spiritualism in reverse to send these skeleton soldiers away and they disappeared in front of her eyes.

The old one-eyed gasped in shock and said, "You sent all your guns to the undead world!" This led the old one-eyed to believe that Alex had a powerful necromancer hidden behind him, acting as Alex teacher, and that Alex had many contracted undead creatures, which was not something a newly started wild mage would have. Alex revealed this intentionally to deter the old one-eyed and to prevent him and others from having any deceitful thoughts about him.

In reality, Alex had no masters behind him, and the skeleton soldiers were not simply a means of transportation. The enchanted rifles were equipped with the skeleton soldiers. After completing the transaction, Alex and the old one-eyed agreed to make the next transaction in three months for 150 enchanted rifles and an old-fashioned enchanted cannon.

On the way back, Alex was thinking about going to the cemetery where the seventeen skeleton soldiers, now upgraded to firearm skeleton soldiers, were waiting with their new enchanted rifles. Alex considered whether to take the initiative to find Ella and explore the secret base of the Tower of Yin Spirits or to wait for her to contact him.

The carriage suddenly braked and Alex, who had been leaning forward, recovered his senses and asked the driver what was going on. Before the driver could answer, the wooden door of the carriage was slapped and a voice shouted excitedly, "Is that you, Lord Alex? Miss Erza has had an accident!"

Alex recognized the voice as belonging to a female butler of the GOLDERT Castle and opened the door of the carriage to find a middle-aged housekeeper in a decent women's suit standing in front of him. She had recognized the family crest on the carriage as belonging to Alex and rushed to stop the carriage. Alex asked what had happened to Erza and the housekeeper explained that Erza had discovered the Tower of Yin Spirits and had followed them. The housekeeper begged Alex to go and rescue Erza.

Upon hearing the news, Alex eyebrows furrowed in concern. He did not expect that so many people in PARSLOV City would not be able to locate Erza. He wondered if her discovery of the Tower of Yin Spirits was due to luck or misfortune.

But because he cared for Erza and thought this was a chance to look for signs of the Tower of Yin Spirits, Alex did not take this situation lightly. He hurriedly sought directions before setting off with his staff in pursuit of Novak Street in the lower city. There were a lot of pickpockets, liars, robbers, gang members, and criminals on Novak Street, which was regarded as a slum in PARSLOV City.

Alex looked all around, but Erza was nowhere to be found. There was an unexpected explosion from a nearby residence on Novak Street just as he was preparing to request information from the neighbourhood patrol officers.

Alex became vigilant when he heard the sound of a knight's Dou QI colliding. He followed the sound and arrived at an old three-story brick and wood building. A room on the second floor had been smashed into the wall by the aftermath of the Dou QI collision. Many residents in the building ran out and gathered downstairs, but Erza was not among them.

Alex moved to the second level after entering the building to investigate the fight's location. Alex inferred from the Dou QI's traces that they were using "fighting skills" and aura that Erza, whose Dou QI had a flame attribute, had the upper hand in the battle and had hurt the rival, whose Dou QI had an ice attribute and was weaker. And they were

The term "fighting skills" refers to the powerful attacks used by knights. These techniques are not particularly advanced and, although they have some strength, they have many limitations, and it is difficult for high-level knights to have enough opportunities to build up their fighting qi against experienced enemies. As a result, higher level knights often do not use fighting skills in battles, but fledgling knights often do.
