Christy's POV
My mother has been screaming my name since this morning and I'm getting irritated.
Well, I'm Nnamdi Christiana but everyone calls me Christy, I'm fifteen and I have a twin brother named Christian, Christian is very annoying I'll do anything to leave this house for Christian,he keeps troubling me with his wicked pranks, when I say wicked I mean it.
Mr and Mrs Smith Nnamdi are my parents obviously.
Even though we are in the 21st century my parents still support arranged marriages for the young ones whatever they call that type of marriage.
I'm getting married to a boy I don't even know?!, I'm totally freaking out, that means I can't lie on my bed and listen to gospel songs and BTS with my headphone while I feel the cool breeze on my skin, that means I will be performing wife duties at just the age of fifteen? DISGUSTING!!!.
Imagine getting married to a boy you don't know or love, what if you hate him and vice versa, then you go on and perform wife duties to him then...then do those things adults do and give birth to his child, I feel like I'm going to vomit.
I asked mom why I was getting married at my age and worse to a different tribe,
She said it was to bring the tribes together since the igbo's and yoruba's look like enemies. I knew my mother was lying to me,she was trying to hide the fact that we're getting poor, she was hiding the fact that my family owes the Ajileye's. So I decided to go with their plans, the last thing I want is for my family to go completely poor and my parents becoming helpless and frustrated, I'll do anything for them
Currently, I'm packing my things and surprisingly my brother is helping me,I think he is very happy that I'm leaving the house for him and I couldn't care less.
"Christy!!!" mom shouted my name.
"Yes mom, I'm coming" I said getting seriously annoyed.
"I wonder why mom is so much in a hurry today" this time it was Christian who spoke.
"Why won't she?!,when we know that she is going to her wealthy in-laws house that we owe a huge favour, you can't keep the rich waiting right?!" I replied my brother.
I finished packing and my brother helped me carry my bags,I must admit sometimes it's good to have a brother.
My parents want my brother to get married to the one he loves that's not fair but I agreed with them because my brother is a big playboy, yeah he has the looks and I think he is using it too well,my parents are scared that if he was forced to get married he might end up having 14 wives and 62 children,so my parents just let him be.
My dad started the car engine and next thing I knew was that we were at the express,he was driving too fast for a second I was worried but after remembering where we are heading to I understood.
