Chapter 16 - The world in red

In a at the red light district, a woman in over revealing clothes was crying, her makeup smudged all over her face, Sergeant Davies tried talking her as she was the first one to see the body.

I know you are sad about your friend's death and because of that I want you to tell us anything you know that could help us catch the killer and bring justice to your friend.

She...she was killed by her boyfriend the lady told the officers.

Her boyfriend?? why do say so asked Davies

The police officers left the red light district after the body was taken away.

In the car Sergeant Davies sent the photo of the killer to every police officer on patrol.

According to the lady, she saw her friend's boyfriend hit the her head on the wall and her friend slumped, before she could even raise an alarm he ran out of the bar.

Other people at the bar at the time also saw him running out, when they figured what he had done he had gone far.

There was blood on the wall and also signs of struggle so the story checks out.

The police officers are now busy trying to find the deceased

....

The said man who the police officers are looking for was running in the forest, looking back every time to see if he was being followed, after ten minutes of continuous running, he stopped and grabbed his knees gasping for air like a fish out of water.

A pair of black boots appeared before him, his first instinct was to run but he was held in place by the owner of the black boots.

He unconsciously started shivering as a premonition came upon him.

Please let me go I'll pay you if you want please let me go.

The man snickered in response to his pleas and the last thing he saw before blacking out were a pair of red eyes.

Meanwhile at the Thompson's house Erica was having trouble sleeping, once she closes her eyes the image of a man whose brain and blood colured the road pavement appeared in her head.

Witnessing the man fall off the roof and his brains splattered on the floor left a shadow on her.

For the next few days she refuses to step out of the house believing that this way she wouldn't have to to see any more bloody scenes.
