"That boy is leaving this school today or I'm withdrawing my child ..."
"Madam calm down, please let's go to the principal's office so we can discuss this. Please ma, calm down!"
"You want me to calm down? wait, do you want me to calm down? Here, take a look at my daughter - the injuries she sustained - the disgrace and humiliation all in the name of that accursed student of yours.
I won't take this!" She charged forth in search for me.
"Madam, that young boy is anointed of the Lord. He is not a cursed child. Take a look at me, I was barren for twelve good years and even joined those who criticised and fought him until I called him for prayers and immediately, I took in.
Your daughter was having an attack from the devil and David only came around.
He didn't even touch her before the spirit threw her to the ground .
It was just a word; "You demonic spirit, come out in the name of Jesus Christ!" That was all and your daughter was delivered."
"Ernn, So you are accusing my daughter of witchcraft? Take me to the principal's office. I can't stand here exchanging words with you." She pushed her by the side and headed for the principal office.
The principal had been aware of their conversation but for the fear of the numerous troubles other parents had brought withdrew and stayed back in his office overseeing what was ongoing through the window.
Now he could hide no more, he granted Mrs Akpan Victoria permission and she went in with the mother of Felecia whom David had delivered from the demonic attack.
"Please Mrs Williams take a seat." He pleaded.
Rudely, Felicia's mom pulled out a chair and sank into it like a heavy rock.
"Principal, the entire school has been turned into a deliverance center because of your accursed student..."
"(the principal cut in) No please Mrs Williams I won't have you call any of my students names, that's too uncalled for. The boy is only blessed of the maker.
I understand perfectly and we are working on his suspension, not for any reason but so as to curtail the issues we are dealing with in the school currently." The principal without further questioning rendered a conclusion.
"And that will be better! I won't have any of such again otherwise I will be compelled to withdraw my child from the school and if need be take legal actions required."
"My sincere apologies Mrs Williams. You will hear from us soon on how we have developed on this matter. Please do have a wonderful day."
Mrs Williams, the mother of Felecia, a junior section student of David's school left the office with her daughter that early morning.
"Mrs Akpan, Please call me Mr OGBONNA. I need to have a talk with him." The principal demanded and Mrs Apkan, David's class teacher left the office and returned shortly with Mr OGBONNA.
"Mr OGBONNA, Welcome. I called you in to let you know my final decision on the matter of David. If we don't act fast, the whole school may be turned into a deliverance center and I'm scared that won't be a great outcome for most of our children's parents."
"Alright sir! Please what is your decision?" Mr OGBONNA asked
"Suspension! We would have to bless David and let him go.
It is painful to take this sort of action but I feel it is the most beautiful right now.
David has placed our school on the pace for greatness and recognition in the entire state and even at national level. Talking of the awards, the firm and even the growth he has brought us..." He paused and bowed, exhaled and shake his head both ways then threw his hands sort of to say, "that's the conclusion." As he placed fingers on several awards won by David for the school.
Well, Mr OGBONNA, my mentor listened but there was nothing to defend this time around as this wasn't the first nor the second meeting he would be having with the principal over the same issue.
He had tried to let the entire school management become aware of the spiritual health God was using David to instill into the school but none could see as far as he was seeing. Now he had to commit it to God if it was his will for David to be suspended, possibly He (God) had a better assignment for him.
That day after Mr OGBONNA left the principal's office, he invited me in. I could judge from his countenance that it was time for the inevitable.
I took a seat and Mr OGBONNA adjusted to look directly into my eyes; "David! Tell me the truth. Is there something the Lord has asked you to do and you are running from?"
The question struck me hard. Before seconds could roll, I felt some tears dropping off my eyes.
"Yes sir! The Lord has asked me to returned back to Buruku and set a tent there." I answered heavily.
"Then that's it! There aren't two ways about it. You will go back to Buruku. It is true this path isn't easy but you are going to be strong.
You are unique my son! It is high time you cherish that uniqueness and leave every other thing for it to please your master" Mr OGBONNA admonished.
Broken by my emotions, I turned to a corner weeping; "Daddy I have dreams of pursuing my education and becoming a medical doctor... (I paused sobbing) ...Is it how I..."
"My son, all I have to tell you is that God's will is perfect - perfect for you. Remember that you are here on earth because he brought you and your being here is for Him, not you.
You will come of maturity the day you are able to let go yourself and be satisfied with being all that He wants you to be..." He paused and observed my reaction then let go his hand on my shoulder.
"Thank you Daddy!" I said tearfully and head for the door to leave.
"You will be fine my child. I am praying for you." Mr OGBONNA said in the shadow of my departure.
it was after this encounter that I rebelled against the angel sent to be with me, an act which resulted to my confinement in a wheelchair.
The Monday of the following week, a letter was sent to my uncle and wife about my suspension from the school.
it took days before I could recover.
