YEAR: 1213, SOMEWHERE IN THE MONTH OF MARTIUS, OF MERIDITH'S LUNAR CALENDAR.
SOFIA'S POV:
How I wonder looking at the sky, that if I could turn back time, I would possibly do that. The sufferings are too much to carry on for lives. I wish I could do anything to end all of this for all of us, but sadly I can't. I am bound.
I sat near the shrine of our mother and kept looking at the only memorial they had for her. Does she only deserve this?
I looked up and saw a few dried flowers that were kept on behalf of her. It was really a wonder that every day the shrine received one particular flower, which was not from us. The lotus stays alive until the new dawn.
From what, we have been told since our childhood that our mother died while giving birth to me. But Queen Sameena had spectacularly made such a situation to think otherwise. I am forbidden to even walk up to our mother's chamber.
I wonder what is she hiding from me.
Nevertheless, I am just here to sacrifice my life for Meridith. One of us is gonna sit on the throne of Elixer. And then life is gonna change forever. We will be retrieved off the minimum leeway that we have. We must only serve our land and people.
That is our destiny. Any one of us. The one who shall be named after great responsibility.
"Princess Sofia?"
I tore away from my brooding thoughts. As I turned around, I saw my father, the king of Elixer, Naveen standing with a gentle smile. The only one I could rely on. The only one who would understand me.
"Father, greetings from Sofia"
"Bless you, my child. What are you doing here?" he asks in endearment. His white beard and hair still look suave on him.
"I-" Before I could answer back someone invaded our conversation.
"Possibly she came to meet her dead mother." My stepmother stood while looking a little irked at the shrine. She has always hated me. It was only because I was so much more powerful and different from my brothers and sisters.
"You must respect the shrine" I retorted. I cannot just stand there and look at her insulting my mother. She has always done so.
"Behave, Princess Sofia, do not forget who am I" She snorted.
"Oh, you never let us forget that even for a second, Mother" I spat in turmoil.
"Oh, I think we should head inside," Father said, trying to calm the situation. But what possibly can be done when he is the only one trying to save us?

Sameena and Naveen had taken me in when my mother died. At least I was happy they allowed me to keep a shrine on behalf of her. Father says he respects her a lot.
Since I was adopted into the family, I have not been welcomed by many people. Moreover, a palace is a place where people find a great place to live, but that is definitely not what it is.
A palace filled with toxic politics and hate.
That is what I have learned so far. Brother Flynn and sister Annalise were true children of Naveen and Sameena. But Naveen had raised me as his own. Even given me equal rights to the throne.
Which specifically unpleased Sameena and Flynn.
Although Annalise has always been a good sister.
"I believe if our Father had chosen you, you must be great at something. Otherwise, he would have never given you the right to the throne. So just stop thinking you are different. You are our sister Sofia"
Her words have always comforted me.

FLASHBACK 7 YEARS AGO
"Don't you find it odd that you are not one of us?" Caspian laughed along with his other cousins and Flynn. "I mean look at you, how ugly you are. You don't even have wings like us." He taunted.
"I don't feel so. I am a part of this family too" I restored a little angry. I mean how can they always insult me?
"No, you are not. You are adopted!" Flynn spits angrily. I have always seen the anger in his eyes. Even though I made sure I didn't do anything specific to make him such angry.
"Flynn stop!" Anna came forth. "You should apologise to her!" She commanded.
"Never in a million days!" Flynn said angrily. Caspian and the others laughed at us. They were probably enjoying how pathetic I was forced to feel.
"I am warning you, Flynn. I would call my father now"
"Do whatever you want dumb ass. I would never apologise to her. She is nobody to us. And I think you should stop hanging out with her. You are my sister." Flynn said while pulling her towards him. I could just stand and watch them. I don't really want to be in a fight. Father Naveen says fighting with siblings is a bad idea.
I agree with him too.
"Anna, let's go," I said while trying to pull her back.
"Hey you weirdo, don't try to touch her! She is my sister!" Flynn pushed me and Anna tried to help me, but Flynn stopped. They started quarrelling but then Anna was pushed hard and she heard her knees.
That is when I couldn't control my anger. I stared at them hard and I could hear how thunders were relying on my anger. The winds started to blow hard making them squeeze shut their eyes as the dust invaded the place.
The armour and tables began to shake vigorously due to the storm I formed from my anger. And today I wasn't going to leave that easily.
But before I could do anything I felt a tight slap on my cheek. It was none other than Queen Sameena.
"How dare you, hurt my children?" She asked looking furiously at me.
"I-I"
"Stop I don't want to hear your lies," she said while pulling me somewhere. I stood crying and begging them to let me go. As I saw the flames freshly wielding the hot iron in the fire I was terrified.
But she didn't listen to any of my cries that day.
"AHHHHH" I screamed in pain as my birthmark glows enduring all the pain she gave me.
From that day I knew, If I have to change my life, I have to take the lead.
END OF FLASHBACK
"Look the ugly was reading books. Perhaps can you read actually?" Caspian said while coming in with Flynn. They never changed.
But I did.
I glared at them and I could see how tense Flynn was. I made sure to give him good lessons every time he tried to lie about me. If the criminal was not being dragged to the law, the law would come to find them.
"Perhaps, you want me to show it to you" I replied with a smirk. I could see how Flynn was all tensed up. He couldn't hide it.
"C-Come one Caspian, we have other works to do" He pulled him from there and I only saw them passing by.
