Chapter 29 - Chapter 26 - Isadora

"Isadora: Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature. Everything in nature invites us constantly to be what we are."

YEAR: 1213, SOMEWHERE IN THE MONTH OF MARTIUS, OF MERIDITH'S LUNAR CALENDAR.

ISADORA'S POV:

I never enjoyed a family dinner. They were filled with drama. And I despise them. It is better to stay with nature rather than invade their dramatic encounters. My chaotic life. Not to forget, I do have a big family. Six brothers and one sister. Me. Although my father and mother didn't get along. I doubt if it was only because of me, or if my father was always like that.

He makes my mother cry by bringing different girls over to our house.

I hate to admit it, but I want to kill him someday. Sadly, I can't. I can't see my mother crying over his dead body.

FLASHBACK

"Dany, please listen to me." My mother pleaded. But he was too drunk. I was only 7 years old back then. I was standing in the corner of the door along with my brother. My father was drunk and kissing another woman.

"Dany, for god's sake, please our children are here!" She pleaded again, but he was unbothered.

"Let them see! I don't care." He said in his drunken voice as he began to kiss that woman again. I could see how hurt my mother was. "Get off me!" He pushed her to the ground. And that is the first time when I ever used my powers.

Prisluake is my home, and I shall protect it at any cost. As far as the land goes, the trees stand, and I feel connected to each one of them. Somewhere they were not happy. Somewhere they are at peace.

Although I am broken, myself, but... I try to heal them with my powers as much as I can. Mother said my powers must be used to protect Meridith and every living plant on this planet and so I promised her, I would only use my powers for the betterment of the world and people.

Since childhood, I have been trained under the king's order. My father was one of his personal guards and my mother was the keeper of the gnomes' garden. The garden where the oldest tree of the gnomes family stands "The Elder Tree". The roots and hearts of Prisluake.

Since my father gets to know about my powers, he didn't take much time to take me to the king. Well, he kind of tried to sell me off. But lucky me, I got saved by my mother again.

"Where are you heading to?" My older brother Zion asked.

"I am going to get my mind fresh a little" I replied while walking down the stairs. Well, after I became one of the king's soldiers, we didn't really have to stay poor. Now we do stay in a big two-floor house, that is not something usual in our hamlet.

"Oh you mean you are going to hang out with those trees again? Willow sneered.

"Willow stop!" Zion spat at Willow. Well, Willow is the youngest in our house and Zion is the oldest.

"Oh don't be a dad!" Willow replied back.

"Do not call me that, okay, I am way better than him" Zion roared. Well, my brothers despise him too.

"Oh, what is wrong here?" Finally, he walked in. Our father. With his cocky smile.

"You" Zion spat. I could he how dangerously they were at the starting game until my mother came in.

"Isadora! Where are you going at this hour? It's dinner time!" She asked sweetly as usual.

The fact is I cannot sit and have food with the man I hate so much. So I prefer to spend my free time with someone I feel at peace with. In the gnome's garden.

********

I lay in the heart of the forest of Prisluake, trying to connect my mind with nature, seeking peace. Feeling the serene beats of nature.

Thump

Thump

The hushed noise of footsteps and muffled voices woke me up.

Danger. My inner self screams. I must return to the palace now.

Without wasting any time I followed my steps towards the palace. But something stopped me. Queen Windsor? What is she doing here? Queen Windsor never comes out of her chamber. Nobody has seen her so casually. What must she be doing here at this hour?

I stay quiet at my place and observed her.

She looked broken. As she walked towards the elder tree I could hear her little whimper. What must be wrong with her?

"Hi my baby, how are you? I know Mother is late, but look baby I brought you food" She took out something from a bowl and kept it before the Elder tree. "Mother made this for you baby? Try this out, hm!" She looked sick. Why would she call the Elder to tree her baby? What is wrong with her? Should I go to her myself?

Before I could do anything I saw the King's guard come there to capture her once again. And along with them came the almighty King Truce.

"What are you doing here Queen Windsor?" he asked in his usual dark tone. I have never seen him smile.

"Oh, Truce, see our baby is crying. He is hungry!" She cried.

"Take her inside!" he ordered.

Without any further words, the king's men dragged her inside. I would see how desperately she wanted to go back to the Elder tree. I wonder what is going on here.

As they dragged her inside, I saw King Truce looking at the Elder tree as if something had possessed him. But not too long, he turned away and went inside.

I slowly came forth and stood before the Elder tree. What is happening here? What is this sacred elder tree that the king has given me the responsibility to protect this tree? They say Gnome's life was in the hands of this big oak tree, but what is wrong with it?

I wasted no time as I kept my hands on the bark of the tree and my mind connected with each cell with 100 of its stories. The sacrifice, the babies... the Achlys and...

THIRD-PERSON POV:

That night, Lucy sent out a few men in search of the unknown attackers of Warlosence. There were a few attacks around the palace this month that couldn't be traced. Generally, Warlosence is a high-security palace, but still, if someone dares to invade it, there must be a big reason behind it.

A few Lord-men suggested that they should increase the palace security. The Queen and King were taken into immediate care.

**************

It was almost midnight when a woman in a hood sneaked out of the palace. The night was dark, yet the only light they had was the bright moon. The lady made sure nobody was following her.

She came out towards the abandoned lake where the same shadow man stood waiting for her.

"I see that you keep messing up our plan," she said while giving a sharp glare towards him.

"I-I am sorry, your majesty. Give me one last chance." He pleaded while keeping his head low.

"Hm. This is your last chance. Now you must retrieve the Oracle as soon as possible. Only then can we win against them?" The lady said while showing his way towards another side of the lake.

I must retrieve the Oracle. They need to die. Just like their mother. I will make sure of it
