Chereads / THE MONSTER SYSTEM / Chapter 108 - THE DAMN WOLVES ARE NOW MORE POWERFUL!

Chapter 108 - THE DAMN WOLVES ARE NOW MORE POWERFUL!

"What's that sound?" Murasaki asked, looking around, trying to find the source. It wasn't just him alone as all wolves were also confused as to where the sound was coming from.

"Don't worry yourselves. This is what is going to reward you all. Now... continue Bradley,"

<*Reward for participation in avenging and fulfilling kids wishes*>

<*New skill has been earned!*>

<*Slash/bite*>

<*The wolves cab now slash from a distance and their strikes will land on the intended target. The closer the target, the more effective the skill is. Wolves can now bite off anything they wish due to their diamond–bone structure. But both will be weaker if fighting against a stronger opponent*>

<*Reward will be issued now*>

"Wha–no fair, Bradley! They get a skill as awesome as that and I get nothing?!" I complained to the system. I looked at the wolves and saw that their claws and teeth seemed to get more... ah... refined I suppose.

Cause looking at them now, they both had light blue teeth and claws on them. To be fair, since they were a mixed breed of hellhounds and diamond wolves, it looked more suited for the hell hounds.

A while back, a few of the wolves while evolving from grade A to centurion decided to join Saki in his breed and drank his blood, and thus I had with me two types of wolves to command. Saki gained a mane since he was essentially the first of them, but I noticed the others couldn't make their own, even if they were male. Must be something only a wolf I share with dark mana can gain. Anyways...

"Oh, wow! This new power really suits me. I'll have to thank whoever gave this to me!" Red complimented as he checked himself out with his newly gained skill. Lucky.

He had grown a lot darker as compared to when I first met him. I'm not sure if it's because he's mostly around Saki or the atmosphere of Jupiter , but it might probably be because he's now a millennial beast, evolved just not too far before.

The rest of the wolves has somehow maintained their blue color, only darker ever since stepping into the centurion ranks. I felt really proud as they admired their new skill, knowing damn well that they have come very far since I met them. I have to wonder, if I didn't meet them, would their carcasses be somewhere around the planet I found them in, their bones stripped and sold to the right bidder right about now? Let's just not dwell on that.

"Sooo, who wants to test their new skill?" I asked them whole nodding towards the dungeon. They won't miss me for one hour will they, Mrs Kelly and the gang.

"WE DO!" both Saki and Red shouted with glee, the rest of the wolves howling in approval.

"Well then..."

Saki enlarged himself and I hoped on on top of him.

"The eleventh floor waits!"

*HHOOOOWLLL*

***

It was a pure massacre! The other beasts couldn't see them coming. We were already through the tenth level with nothing but just the wolves slashing around, not even the parties we faced earlier on posing a little bit of problem. I was just happily riding along with them, no need for me to even involve myself in the fight.

"What, Boss? You seem disappointed for some reason. Is it because riding in my back makes you uncomfortable?" Saki asked worriedly, then turned to the three parties he was facing and activated his slash skill. Heads rolled down on the ground immediately.

"Well...that's not the reason. Anyways, why haven't I seen any spiders coming up to face us?"

"I'm guessing that's because they heard the was an onslaught of beasts near here and chose to retreat before they died," Red answered, moping up the remainder of the goblins, his slash the largest and most powerful of all the wolves.

"And besides, I bet you are jealous because of our new skill, isn't that right, boss?"

"Hey! That's Mr Boss to you, pal!"

"Wanna go at it now? I'm sure everyone would love to see that!" he answered back, and turned to me, edging me to fight him with that smirk on his face.

"Oh, word? I'm gonna make you eat those words, RED," I said while getting off Murasaki.

It was a free space in the tenth level for us to battle, all except...

"ROOOAAAR!"

"I, DRAX, WILL AVENGE MY BROTHER'S DEAT–"

"SHUT UP, DRAX," both I and Red said at the same time.

The goblin king looked shocked and offended at the same time.

"Come on, guys. I'm just trying to make an honest living by getting revenge on you here, work with me. And you can't just fight in someone else's dungeon. It's just not right,"

"Put a sock in it, Drax. No body cares. Go mourn your brother or something," Red said as he circled around me while I did the same, arms raised.

"That's a bit too much, don't you think? I have feelings too you know!" the goblin king answered, dropping his club like he was hurt by Red's words.

"Oh, fine. I'll give you someone to fight so that you can leave us be. Hey, you two? Think you can handle the king by yourselves?" I asked the two wolves near me, the rest forming a circle around mine and Red's impending fight.

They both nodded their heads and turned to the goblin, growling.

"Really, some extras for me? I don't think you are taking this with the seriousness you should. I could kill the both of–"

"You really have no idea how powerful they've grown, have you? Oh, well. SICK'EM BOYS,"

Two howls, and the goblin king had his opponents for the day. But onto more pressing matters...

"I'll be taking the referees' job. Cause I'm sure I can't stop this fight from happening," Saki said as he pulled the wolves a few metres back, cause the fight we were about to have would be legendary.

Don't get me wrong. We've had a lot, and I mean A LOT of fights with him everytime I met the wolves. But this time would be a little different.

The last time I remember, he was still in the peak of centurion and I was a middle stage centurion. But right now, since everyone has been training and trying to get their selves stronger, things might change. I'm nearly at the break point of entering peak centurion, while Red is in Millennial.

Hence why this fight was so important. It's been a while, like a few months, since we've had ourselves a good spar. It's always a good way to test how far I've gotten, and also, this might be a good test run for tomorrow's exam.

"You really wanna face me with your bare hands?" Red asked, as he paused his circling for a bit, then continued.

"Only need one, but I guess out of respect I'll give you two. Just so you know, you can use your slash skill if you want, no holding back, cause if you do, you're dead," I answered with a smile.

"I'm a millennial wolf now, just for your information,"

"Just as you said earlier, it's. Just. A. Title."

He paused once again in his steps, but this time, so that he could attack me and immediately launched into an excellent run, and life-threatening for the wrong person. Too bad I'm not that person.

<*Ability [Warlock king (LVL 4) is in use!*>

<*Skill *Speed and strength* have been enhanced by magic!*>

<*Mana {1400/1500}*>

I speeded up to meet Red's attack head on, but before both of us could collide with each other, a portal appeared in front of us.

We both stopped in our tracks and went on the defensive, wondering what the hell decided to appear in the middle of our fight.

Soon, the portal closed and a hooded fellow appeared.

Wait.... I know that hood.

"Spir what the hell? Now, OF ALL TIMES?!" I shouted at the owner of the dungeon as she pulled herself hood off to reveal a fourteen year old girl today.

"Don't talk to me like–"

"GO AWAY!"

"Red, does this thing speak for you?" Spir asked as she pointed at degrading finger at me.

"I'm... not...sure. Hello goddess," Red greeted as he approached her and nuzzled his snout on her hood.

"Did you just call me a 'thing'? Wait, more importantly, what are you doing here?"

She rubbed Red's head first before she answered, "Duty calls. Someone wants to speak to you, Max. And he knows this is the only time he can have you as you have been busy for the past few months,"

"Who could that be to call on a god to talk to me?"

"Another god, duh. Man ain't you dense. And also, I heard you were bullying Drax?"

The goblin king came hobbling in, the two wolves trailing behind him. He had large scratch marks and one of his eyes was swollen in pain. He's definitely seen better days than this.

"Goddess, that's them right there!" he wined as he pointed at the two wolves who paused in their pursuit after seeing the goddess.

"Maaaax?" Spir asked, dragging my name and looked at me angrily.

I turned my head from her and signaled for the wolves to return to the pack.

"He wanted a fight, and I was just fulfilling his wishes. I had no idea the wolves would have taken their sweet time in dealing with him. My bad," I answered while winking at the two and rubbing their heads as a reward.

"You're such a jerk! Red, how did you even end up him as a leader?"

"I ask myself the same question everyday,"

"Hey, non of that talking down to me! You were saying something about a god wishing to see me?"

"Oh, yeah. Ask your system. It knows,"

"Oh? You know about it?"

"Of course I do. Most gods know about it. Doesn't mean all of them agree to it,"

"Huh. I'll keep that in mind."

[Bradley?]

[Depends on how you define good. Cause you sure as hell haven't been that!]

[Nope. I'm hearing non of it. You hear me system?]

<*System thinks owner is being too petty*>

–––

[Petty? You literally didn't give me the slash and bite skill! Who's the petty of us two again ]

–––

<*The system warns the owner that if he dares say something bad to the creator... *>

–––

[What's all the fuss about from you two? Wait, don't tell me... It's him isn't it. You creator, the god of technology, right?]

–––

<*...*>

<...>

[Oh my gods it is true!]

<*System will be forcibly taking over now.*>

My vision went dark suddenly. This is a different experience than the one I've heard with the system switching with me. It feels just like when Tartarus talked to me last time. But I somehow felt that here, this god wasn't as limited as my sponsor.

"THAT'S RIGHT DUDE!"

"Oh, for beasts sake! Do you all have to talk with that loud voice every single time you meet me, and read my memory?"

"Not the welcome I was expecting," the same voice said, this time in a lower voice. The light suddenly returned and I found myself in a gaming arena. A boy just around the same age as me was sitting in a bean bag, two controller in hand and one outstretched to me.

"Um... who are you, again?"

The boy's smile disappeared from his face before he said, "You couldn't have forgotten me that quickly, could you?"

"I've never met you in the first place, no offense, of course,"

"Oh offense taken alright. You remember Tartarus, right? I'm what you could say, a friend of his,"

Thunder from wherever we were blasted through the entire arena.

"Oh, haha. Real funny, Tat. He sends his greetings,"

"Oh, I see. Greetings received."

"Now, are you going to take this pad from my outstretched hand, or are you going to make me stay in this embarrassing position much longer?"

"Oh, yeah, sorry. Thanks, Mr...Ah..." I said as I took the controller.

"Fex. No Mr please, I'm not that old. Fex, the god of technology,"
