Adrian's POV:
I couldn't help but take satisfaction in Kendall's current predicament. "How does it feel to be where you truly belong?" I sneered, enjoying the sight of her frustration.
Kendall, filled with anger, lashed out at me from behind the bars. "What on earth possessed you to do this, Adrian? This was not the plan we discussed!"
Taking responsibility for my actions, I acknowledged, "Yes, I messed it up, and I'm fully aware of it. But I must say, orange suits you quite well." I couldn't resist throwing in a wink for added mockery.
Feeling mocked and humiliated, Kendall asked, "Are you making fun of me?"
I shrugged off her accusation, replying nonchalantly, "Woah! Does it appear that way? I was simply curious about how you were handling things. And let me tell you, you seem just great. Isn't it ironic?"
Frustrated by my constant mockery, Kendall spat at me, "Stop trivializing everything! Do you think this is a joke?"
In response, I coolly stated, "I'm not making light of the situation. I just find it fascinating to see you in such circumstances, considering I played a role in presenting the evidence that led to your arrest."
"You, just wait and see how the tables turn around, baby. I'm ahead of you in this game of yours."
"And if you lose?"
She shrugged. "You win."
"Challenge accepted." I smiled.
"I warn you, Adrian Garcia, stop playing with fire."
"Messing up with my family is more dangerous. Don't get all high and mighty," I snapped back. "You were willing to go along with the plan, until it was your turn to pay the price. You've known me long enough to know that I always get my way in the end." My grin was predatory, and I could see Kendall's heart racing at the implications of my words.
"You wouldn't dare," she said, her voice trembling. "You wouldn't actually turn me over to the authorities. You need me, as much as I need you."
Kendall's eyes flashed with anger, but I could also see a glimmer of hurt in her expression.
"You made your choices, Kendall. I merely gave you the means to pursue your desires, and you took advantage of that."
My adversary stood before me, a fierce determination blazing in her eyes. It was clear that she was not going to go down without a fight. I admired her tenacity, but I also knew that I had the upper hand. After all, I was the one who had all the evidence, and I was the one who had control of the situation. I was determined to win, and I knew that I had the means to do so.
As the tension in the room rose, Kendall took a deep breath and changed tactics. Her demeanor became calmer, but I could still see the fire in her eyes. "What do you want?" she asked, her voice even and controlled. "What is it that you're after?"
I regarded her with a calculating gaze, assessing my next move. "I want you to admit your wrongdoings," I said, my tone even and resolute. "I want you to face the consequences of your actions."
"What you're asking for is impossible," Kendall said, her voice rising with defiance. "I won't throw myself under the bus for your amusement. I won't be your scapegoat." She drew herself up to her full height, her gaze unwavering as she met my eyes. "You'll have to do better than that if you want to beat me."
I smiled, my expression one of amusement and satisfaction. "That's exactly what I wanted to hear," I said, my voice laced with triumph. "Now the game is truly on."
With the stakes raised, the atmosphere became electric with tension. We stood there, each of us sizing up the other, calculating our next move. In the end, it all came down to who could outsmart the other. It was a battle of wits, and we both knew it.
"Are you ready to play?" I asked, a hint of challenge in my voice.
Kendall met my gaze, her eyes glinting with resolve. "I was born ready," she replied, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "Bring it on."
We were both locked in a game of mental chess, each of us trying to anticipate the other's moves. Kendall was shrewd and cunning, but I was determined to outsmart her. I had a plan, and I was confident in my ability to execute it. I just needed to play my cards right.
"We'll see about that," I said, my voice cold and unyielding. "Excuse me."
