Chapter 32 - TEOT 32

(Adrian)

"I'm sorry for hiding such a serious matter from you," Aurora apologized after she was done explaining the whole incident.

"I'm sorry, too," I said, opening my arms for a hug. She enclosed the space between us, resting her head on my shoulder.

"Do you recall when you said you were a fool to think I was going to fight for you, for us?" she asked.

I disengaged the hug, gazing at her. "Yes, I do. What about it?" I asked, not knowing why she brought it up, again.

She smiled. "Well, you were right, because I can't do it alone. But I will fight with you as a team. It's me and you against the world, forever."

"I love this version of you, angel."

Her cheeks flushed red, happy tears falling down her eyes. "I'm glad we're back together."

"No one left, did you?" I asked, pretending to think.

She rolled her eyes. "Just saying. You know what I'm talking about."

"Of course. The fact that you were about to end us."

"It wasn't my fault," she pouted, crossing her arms.

"Blame on me, blame on you, blame on us. That's it!" I said, imitating her tone.

"Stop using my words."

"Fine. But can you do me a favor, please?" I asked.

"What do you want?"

I wondered what she was expecting to hear.

"A gentle massage. I'm in lots of pain, right now."

"You're in pain because you were stubborn. If only you had listened to me, you wouldn't have gone through this."

This lady never ceased to amaze me. She should be happy that I did all that for her.

"Wasn't it worth it? Besides I didn't have a choice. I can't believe you're scolding me because I asked for a small favor," I stated, frowning.

"I'm sorry, okay?"

I had lost count on her apologies.

"Nevermind. I forgot you have just one hand."

She spanked my butt. "Hey!"

"Gush. I was joking. You didn't have to go that hard on me."

She leaned closer in a husky voice. "Go hard on me, baby," she said, letting out a soft moan.

Oh no. She just awakened my mini me.

I pushed her off my body, playfully. "Christ. I didn't mean it that way."

"I know," she laughed and I joined in her contagious laughter.

We stopped talking. I pulled her to my chest, running my fingers through her hair. She smiled at me. Her eyes blinked a few times, then she drifted to sleep.

I carried her in my arms to Anastatia's bedroom and tucked her in the blanket. I'd have loved to take her to ours, but Anastatia needed us around in her condition.

Giving mother and daughter a peck on their foreheads, I sat by the couch, watching them all night. I sacrificed my sleep to ensure their safety.

The clock read 4:57 AM when my eyes began shutting slowly. I didn't realize when I slept off. Waking up by past 6, I couldn't find blondie in bed.

I checked the bathroom, even under the bed because she could be funny most times and want to play games with me, but she wasn't there either.

I dialed her number and discovered she left her phone behind. There was no trace of blondie in the room. Such a horrible way to start my morning!

When I thought our lives were perfect, now.

Anastatia was still asleep. I touched her head to check if she had a fever, but she seemed fine. I dashed out of the room with my shirt in my hand, taking the stairs down.

Many thoughts ran through my mind. I was starting to experience an irregular heartbeat.

Did something bad happen to her, again?

God. I just hoped not.
