Chapter 29 - TEOT 29

(Aurora)

I woke up in an unfamiliar environment, strapped to an iron chair, a gag in my mouth, my hands and legs were tied up.

My eyes darted around the dark room. There was no window, but an entrance slash exit door.

God, I was dying of thirst and suffocation.

The door made a creaking noise. I turned my neck around to the clicking sound of heels.

Someone just walked in.

"Hello, darling."

The voice rang a bell.

"I can't get enough of you, baby."

Right! The same voice echoed from the video I watched earlier– It was Kendall's voice.

I voiced myself out through the gag, almost inaudible. "W-where is this place?"

The lights came on and she chanted, chortling. "Surprise!"

The room was decorated in black and white balloons. She held a black cake in her hand; Anastatia Garcia was scribbled on it in white.

She wore a black silk dress to compliment the theme, her waist length dark hair swaying to her sides as she walked in gorgeous steps.

The bitch wasn't alone.

Stacey was behind her back, dragging her feet alongside. She looked pale and sick. I could imagine what she was passing through.

Kendall walked up to me and removed the gag placed in my mouth.

It didn't take another second before I recalled the incident that took place a while ago.

I shot her a death glare. "What do you want? Why did you send your men after me? I barely even know you."

"Don't get the wrong idea, sweetie. You invited me over to your place and I thought of doing the same, too. It's so kind of me, right?" she pouted, cutting the cake into slices.

I rolled my eyes, cautious. "Indeed."

"I'm sorry for ruining your party, so I ordered this cake specially for you," she said to Stacey, feeding a slice to her and me as well.

I was hesitant to eat it, but she forced it into my mouth.

Who knows if she spiked it?

"If I wanted you dead, I'd have done that long ago. So, eat it. I can feed you some more if you want. If you still doubt my intentions, then watch me," she said as though she read my mind.

She took a bite and I watched her under a close observation until she swallowed it.

I was still not convinced, so I spat it out when I thought she wasn't looking, but she caught me red-handed and shook her head.

"I think I got the perfect gift for her. You want to see?" she asked.

Gush, stop talking and get me out of this place.

"What is it?" I asked, shifting my gaze to her.

She held out a bouquet of flowers, then picked out one and placed it between my lips. "Black roses," she smiled and turned to Stacey.

She shoved the rest into her hands, cupping her chin. "Happy death day, Anastatia."

I spat out the flower, yelling at her. "Stop this nonsense!"

A smirk tugged on her lips. "You can only reject my gift under my conditions."

"Anything at all," I said.

"Get a divorce."

I looked at her, arching a brow. "Why? Tell me why I should."

"Because you're my only obstacle. Once you're out of the way, my mission is accomplished," she stated.

"I think you should convince Adrian. I'm afraid he won't sign it," I bragged, pouting.

She clenched my wrists, boring her sharp nails into my skin as she flipped a shiny object in her other hand.

Exactly what I thought it was– A penknife.

Spasm of fear crossed my face. I watched her slash my wrist in numbed horror, sweat dripping from my brow. The gut-wrenching pain.

She looked up at me, smirking. "How will you like your death, sweetie? I'd prefer yours slow and painful. I don't know about you."

"I– I will do it. Just stop, please. I will divorce him as you said and keep a good distance. If you want me to move faraway, I will do just that, too," I begged in silent tears.

"Well, I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Kendall Campbell and no one goes against my orders, else they'll be digging their own grave," she twitched her lips, deepening the penknife into my skin.

I closed my eyes tight in reflex. The pain was sharp and unbearable.

I winced in pain as she pulled it out. Gush, the sight of my blood smeared on the blade.

"W-what do I need to do, now?" I whimpered, looking down.

"The divorce papers are ready. Do your own part and leave the rest for me. Have I made myself clear?"

I hummed in response.

"Speak!" she screamed, making my body tremble in fear.

"Ye… yes. I understood everything."

She began walking towards to the door, then she halted, taking a murderous glance at me. "Last warning; do nothing stupid. If the police is involved, consider a total wipe out in your family. It's going to be one after the other."

"I promise, I won't say a word to anyone," I said in a rash, meaning every fucking word.

"Good," she smiled and left.

Two men walked in that same second and started untying me.

"Find your way out of here before our boss changes her mind," one of them said as they were done.

"Thank you," those words escaped my vocal cords as I genuflected.

My legs were shaky as I got on my feet. I managed to lift Stacey in my arms and dashed out of the warehouse.
