Chapter 168 - Neogenesis III

"Military commanders in the UR arrested as the government continues the hunt for insurrectionist leaders. Earlier, Elliot Williamson, a former general in the UR was arrested as one of the top conspirators in the plot that has shaken the world's superpower."

"Hi!" Wade politely exclaimed, waving his hands at Hachimura.

The vanilla blonde-haired girl, who was seated on the ground, meditating, raised an eyebrow at the man, staring him down for a couple of seconds before turning away from him.

"Leave her alone, Wade, she clearly doesn't want to be disturbed," Sydney, who was standing by the window, said to the green-eyed man.

"I'm sure it's fine," Wade said to the werewolf before turning back to the blue-eyed girl. "That's a pretty nasty scar, how'd you get it?" He asked pertaining to the scar on Ai's face that ran from the side of her ear, across her cheeks, over her nose bridge, and stopping next to her other ear. Once again, the former Retribution member ignores him.

"Wade!" Skylar exclaimed.

"What? She doesn't mind," he turned to Hachimura. "Right?"

When the girl ignored him, he turned to the alpha werewolf with a small smile. "See?" He said as if that proved his point.

Wade turns to Hachimura. "Your name is Ai, right? Skylar tells me you're friends with Hunter, I'm also friends with Hunter."

Hachimur eyes Wade. "Don't call me Ai," she said.

"So you can talk."

Suddenly, Kelani coughs violently causing Wade to turn his attention to her.

The former cop was locked up in a facility and the three mystics; Sydney, Hachimura, and Wade, were asked by Skylar to guard her until the rebellion was crushed. "Are you okay?" Wade asked.

"Water ..." She managed to say in between coughs. "Coming right up," the green-eyed man said before running out of the room.

Kelani quickly stuck her finger down her throat causing Sydney to alert Hachimura that the former policewoman was trying something. "What do you think you're doing?"

When Kelani removed her finger, she threw up causing Sydney to look away. "Gross."

Hachimura kept a watchful eye on the dark magenta-haired woman and noticed a glowing stone among the things she had regurgitated.

"Sydney, turn around!" Hachimura said.

Kelani picks out the stone and wipes it clean. "Isn't that a gem of Infinity?" Ai asks the werewolf.

"Catch!" Kelani says before throwing it at the mystics who both avoid it. "Stay close to me," Hachimura says before wrapping both herself and the werewolf with a big ball of ice.

She knew what was coming.

She knew WHO was coming.

They all did. And when HE arrived, the building crumbled from the impact when the god of conjuring landed from the sky.

Sephratis had arrived.

"We're not getting anywhere with this," said Pandora as she moved towards Kara and placed her hand on the side of the Public Safety and Demon Control agent. "What are you doing?" Kara asks, still unable to move.

"Going through your memories, that'll be easier than just asking you questions."

"Wait! I--"

Pandora taps into Kara's mind and begins searching through the green-haired woman's memories.

'That's it! Break the spell."

[You can't beat her, Hunter]

'Maybe, maybe not.'

[You cannot. There's no two ways about it.]

Pandora releases Kara. "I see ..." The blue-haired woman releases the trio from the spell causing them to fall to the ground.

"There was no need for that," said Kara.

"I disagree. One can never be too careful. The last people I blindly trusted put me in a box."

"Sure, whatever," Kara coughs.

"I am aware you are looking for a weapon to help you defeat your opponents who are closing in on you and take go back home," Pandora said.

"Yes," Diana replied.

"That was before we learned the third weapon was an actual person," Hunter chipped. "Now we just need help getting home. Please?"

"No," Pandora shook her head. "I am a monarch, I shall not follow the orders of simple peasants."

'Aren't monarchs supposed to grant the wishes of the peasants?'

"No one is ordering you," Hunter said.

"You're on your own." Without any more words, Pandora ported away.

"Well, that just happened."

WHOOSH!

"What's that sound?" Diana asked.

"That's the barrier I created coming down, the Archaeons should be here any minute now."

"What do we do now?"

"I have an idea," Hunter said. "Anyone of you have a sharp object?"

Kara turned to the sprite, already figuring out what he had in mind. "Are you sure?" She asked, using her iris to point at Diana who remained oblivious to what was happening.

"I think it's our only chance out of here."

"What is?" Diana asked.

"Fine," they heard a voice from behind. Turning back, they found Pandora with a slight frown on her face. I suppose I could help you three out this one time.

"Thank you," Hunter said with a smile.

Pandora opens a portal and jumps in, prompting Kara to jump in after her and Diana to quickly follow the Demon Control agent. Hunter moved towards but heard someone from behind shout: "Stop there!"

Ignoring him, the dark-haired follows his companions and jumps into the portal. He hears an explosion behind and the portal closes up with some apparent glitch.

"What the --"

Hunter felt himself fall on strong, hard stone.

"Ouch." The teal-green-eyed boy picked himself up and found himself at the backend of a temple and in front of him were women wearing hoods that obscured their faces, standing in a circle and chanting in a language he couldn't quite recognize.

"What in the --" Hunter's thought is interrupted when another hooded woman grabbed him by the arm and pulled him up to his feet.

She handed a cloak to the sprite before leaning close and whispering. "Don't try to stop it."

"Don't try to stop what?"

"You'll know when it happens," she said before moving into the circle, joining the other women.

Hunter took a good look at the temple he was standing inside of. "I feel like I've seen this place before," he thought to himself.

[You have. This is the same temple of Gaia I showed you when I was telling you about the War of Heaven and Hell.]

'That makes sense.'

'...'

'Wait no! That doesn't make sense at all. What the hell do you mean the same temple?'

As if on cue, a single ray of light appeared through the temple roof, and when it disappeared, a man dressed in armor of gold and armed with a double-edged sword stood in its place.

One of the hooded women stepped forward towards the golden-clad warrior. "Ares. You're not welcome here."

The warrior pointed his blade towards the hooded woman.

"You gaeans helped the demons enter this realm. For Demeter. For Thanatos. You pay for your crime with your lives."

Hunter found himself speechless in the back. "Oh, for f--"
