Chapter 159 - Take My Hand

[ The war for Weiss Hel's throne was waged longer than many predicted. Five years had passed and though both sides suffered significant losses, they both expected to prevail.

Triacan's siblings had created a new domain in Weiss Hel, far from the traditional palace of the region. They called upon their followers to migrate to the new realm and they did. However, plenty remained loyal to Lilith.

As the war persisted, many in the Triacan family warrior ranks and cities began to move back to Lilith's region or the other two regions of Hel, Schwarz Hel was ruled by Wrath, and the ever-prosperous Grau Hel was ruled by Luella and her mother, Nemesis.

The most high-profile abandonment of the ranks of the Triacans was by Bahajid who for a secure passage to Grau told Lilith about an impending attack by the Triacans before fleeing the fort, Lilith ensured he reached Grau Hel safely.

Wrath and Nemesis had both distanced themselves from the war in Weiss Hel but in the cover of the darkness, Wrath supported the Triacan family with resources and fighters.

Lilith walked through the pearly hallway of Weiss Hel that was flanked by flowers no race of man had seen before one faithful night.

She thought about the never-ending war and the ever-depleting resources of her depot and how to solve them. She wanted to form an alliance but the leaders of the other two regions of Hel had informed her they would not ally with her or her enemy until the crisis was resolved.

While Hel now had three regions and three rulers, there were a few who devoted themselves to no region and were considered highly influential because of their power.

Lilith thought about making a deal with one of them but just as the thought crossed her mind, the Dark Majesty appeared in front of her.

The beautiful demoness had never seen the Dark Majesty, she had no idea who the being in front of her was but she felt compelled to fall to her knees in prostration and so did.

When he spoke, she recognized his voice from her dreams, dreams that she had had from the moment she came of age, the reason why she had turned down every marriage proposal.

"A -- Are you Horatius?" She asked with a shaky voice.

"O' brave daughter of dark Celeste, true Queen of Weiss Hel and future ruler of unified Hel, arise and take my hand." And so Lilith rose and took the Dark Majesty's hand. Her enchanted hair of gold turned silver white - like Invidia, and that of Luella when she was enraged - a sign of her relationship with the Lord of Hel.

The next day, Lilith rode to the Triacan's family part of Weiss Hel and met with her late husband's brothers and sisters.

When she approached their camp, they could tell there was something different about her. "I like what you've done with the hair," one of them commented but the Queen did not humor him with a response.

She delivered a message to the former Weiss ruling family and to all of the inhabitants and fighters of the rogue region. "This war ends before tomorrow, you're welcome to return to your homes if you lay down your arms and depart the battlefield. Those who slander me with their mouths and words are free to return but they shall speak no ill of me. Those who do not fight, with arms, words, or heart, are free to return to my domain."

Despite the Queen being in front of them with no soldier by her side, none of the guards dared touch her, they could feel the protection around her, Lilith was protected by the most powerful being to step foot on Hel.

And so she rode back and the members of Triacan's family tried to pass the beautiful demoness's words as nothing but everyone who saw Lilith that day felt it: The beautiful Demoness Lord's words held a lot of weight and were not to be disregarded.

So despite the Triacan's family attempts to stop it, flocks and flocks of demons migrated to their original homes, leaving the Triacans to rule only a couple of loyalists and a large, empty land.

The Triacans promised to continue opposing Lilith so long as even a single one of them existed, that was the last they were heard of.

Rumors that carried to Weiss and other parts of Hel and are told to this day were that the Dark King approached the small rebel group and asked them to surrender. When they refused, challenging Horatius instead, he declared the whole of Hel as his domain and asked it to bend to his will.

Hel responded by swallowing the Triacans and their loyalists where they stood proving that the Demon Lord had total control of the realm and thus, birthing the Dark Majesty. ]

Hunter sets the bottle of water down on the table.

He felt a hand land on his shoulder, when he turned around, a pair of lips crashed into his lips, tacking the sprite by surprise

The sprite withdrew from the embrace before scanning the face of the person in front of him. "Ishani?" He said surprised.

"Hunter ... I was so scared," she said as her eyes watered. "When you didn't come back, I thought you were --"

"It's fine. I'm fine," Hunter said, closing the distance between them. The battlemage rested her head on the dark-haired boy's shoulder, lightly shivering.

...

Hunter placed a plate of cookies and a glass of milk on the table in front of Ishani, the teal-green-eyed boy then proceeded to sit across from the grey-eyed woman.

"Thanks."

"How are you feeling?" Hunter asked.

"Good ... We have to talk about that kiss, don't we?"

"It can wait," Hunter said.

"It's fine. Let's do it now."

"Okay."

"Let's not beat around the bush," the Grade A battlemage paused. "I like you, Hunter ... a lot."

Hunter smiles at the year 4 Metropolitan School of mysticism student. "I like you too, Ishani."
