Chapter 127 - Confront II

Maxine smiles. "I love when you get like this. Tell me Skylar, what's the plan?" She asks.

"Your friends at Brownvale, do they trust you?" The medic asked.

"The White Flaggers? Very much," the brown-skinned woman replied.

"Then you're going to tell them you found from a reliable source that Karl, his son, and his nephew would be without the twins at a secluded spot - which is the transport location," said Skylar.

"The Flaggers would love that, I'm sure, but I don't think they have the means to smuggle arms to Leinheim undetected," Max said.

"I know someone," Skylar said.

Max shakes her head. "Unless it's the Power Broker I don't see them getting the White Flaggers into the most secured nation in the world."

"..."

"Oh my God, you do know the Power Broker! How do you know the Power Broker?"

"Not the time."

"This is why I idolize you: you're just so freaking awesome!" The brown-eyed girl exclaimed.

"Thanks."

"So the Power Broker gets the Flaggers into Leinheim ... What if they kill Karl and the rest of his family?" Maxine queried.

"I doubt that would be the case. Most likely they'd prefer to take him with them to Brownvale."

"And I'm guessing that's when you'll come in?"

"Camille would be on standby with some of the agents at Sector 5. The agents would be led to believe most of the process is a drill."

"What about Jason?" Max asked. "Even if the Flaggers outnumber them, he could just open a portal to Hel and easily turn the tides in their favor," the shifter pointed out.

"No. Opening portals to places like Hel must really drain his energy so he'll have only one shot at it, to counter this, you should tell the White Flaggers to spread out when attacking ..."

"Because he wouldn't be able to open a portal that big."

"Exactly. If in a moment of desperation, he does open one, the energy would be so high the Laundry would notice. Since Leinheim's laws don't allow porting here and the Laundry would most likely call for a joint response with the MSF, we'll have 10-15 minutes before Laundry agents arrive. You'll have to make the next decision based on your assessment of the situation on site: it will take us around three minutes to get to Leinheim. If you feel our agents would be able to apprehend the Archaeons and take crucial evidence with minimal risk then you should inform us. Otherwise, the mission would have failed and you'd have ten minutes to get the Archaeons and flee the scene with them; You do not want to be there when the Laundry arrives."

///

"Karl Archaeon, you and your family have brought nothing but pain and suffering to Brownvale and millions of others around the world. Today, you pay the ultimate prize."

Maxine looks around. 'No signs of Kilian or Karl's usual bodyguards. This could actually work,' she thought.

The flagger raced forward before jumping high, aiming his dagger at the patriarch of the Archaeon.

'Shit!'

"Father!"

Karl froze, it was as if everything was moving in slow motion. Through the corner of his eyes, the platinum-eyed man noticed his son's hand stretched towards him, the latter attempting to push his father out of sight but he wasn't going to make it.

The pale-skinned man closed his eyes.

Suddenly, the ivory-haired man felt a rumbling on the ground, and out from the ground came a white-haired man who clashed with the attacking flagger, blocking the attack with his forearm. The duo land on the ground and the white-haired man uses his upper body strength to push the flagger backwards.

Jason breathed a sigh of relief as he noticed the white-haired man, it was his cousin Rogue, who had the reputation of being Karl's strongest bodyguard.

"What took you so long?" Karl asked.

"My apologies uncle, I'll handle things from here."

Diana controls the petals from a flower on the table next to them and shoots them at the Archaeon who runs on the wall to avoid them.

The Maddison smiles before elongating the vine and shooting it at Trinity, throwing her through the window. "And that's how it's done!" Diana exclaimed.

"Diana!" They heard Trinity's voice from outside the hospital. Looking through the window, she found the latter standing on her feet with a slight smile on her face, she had avoided the attack by jumping out through the window, but the silver-white-haired woman moved so fast none of the trio noticed initially. "That room is a bit too tight, what do you say we continue this out here where there's a lot of plants and space?"

"Hm," the snow-white-haired woman snorted before jumping out the window to meet with the Archaeon. Hunter and Skylar followed suit.

Trinity drew out her sword and pointed it toward the peach-eyed woman. "I promised you the beating of your life, what do you say we get onto it?"

Diana controlled the roots from the trees around and launched them at Trinity, the Archaeon moved swiftly, cutting through all the roots while also covering the distance between herself and her fellow Drumalak. She got close to Diana and raised her sword to strike Diana, the latter rolled out of the way, barely avoiding the attack.

'Well, she's definitely faster than before,' Diana thought.

Trinity closed the distance. She moved so swiftly that she caught all three agents by surprise, she swung her blade towards the Grade S student who managed to wrap her hands with bark and brought both arms up to her face to block. The blade cuts through the bark and Diana spins away just as it starts tearing through her flesh.

"This isn't going well," said Hunter. "Trinity uses a sword plus she's extremely fast, which makes it easy for her to cancel out Diana's powers. Why the hell did she suggest a one-on-one?!"

"Diana knows that. She's not trying to beat Trinity, she's just trying to exhaust her so you can pick the bones after."

"Huh." Hunter turned his attention to the two Drumalaks.

'I can't beat her this way ...' The peach-eyed woman uses her elemental abilities to wrap some vines around her fist before clenching her fist and moving into a battle stance. "Bring it on!"

Trinity, who wore a smirk and watched the elemental amusingly stabbed her sword into the ground. "Alright."

The road comes to a dead end and Chelsea turns back to see Mercedes not too far away. The raven-haired woman thought about her next choice carefully and put both arms in the air ready for a fight. She had one other choice, to try to run past the Archaeon, but knew how stupid that would be so she settled with going out with a show.

Still maintaining her lackadaisical look, Mercedes reached for the holster around her arm and pulled out her sci-fi gun.

"This is the third time I'm 'dying'," Chelsea thought. "At least this time I go out with a bang. Hehehe."

Mercedes points the gun at the honey brown-eyed woman and with no hesitation, pulls the trigger.

PEW!

Chelsea vibrates. She opens her eyes and checks her body to find that there's no gunshot wound. 'Did she miss?'

Looking up, Chelsea found that between herself and the Archaeon was a demon that was mostly humanoid save for the pastel purple skin. The demon was more than seven feet tall and had long fangs that were visible despite his mouth being closed, wings on his back, ram-like horns, fish-like scales around his shoulders, midriff, and some part of the legs. Additionally, he had a small lavender-colored crystal in the middle of his forehead. The demon had caught the bullet with his hands.

"Thank you, Hunter," Chelsea whispered, already realizing what happened.

The sprite had opened a domain large enough to reach her location and used a demon from the plenty of souls Joseph George snatched to help her.

The battlemage returned the gun to her holster before charging forward to strike.

The demon mirrors his opponent and also charges forward, meeting in the middle with a huge punch as both mystics' hands clash, causing the buildings on both sides to crack, glasses around to shatter, and the ground they were on to sink.

The demon loses his footing but manages to remain in the same position by using his wings to float while the icy blue-eyed girl remains unfazed. She zipped forward and struck the demon with her knee, he blocked but the force behind the strike still sent him a couple of meters back.

Mercedes closes the distance once more, moving so swiftly Chelsea couldn't register her movements. The pale-skinned girl strikes the pastel purple-skinned demon with her knee. He crosses his arm to block but the impact causes his arm to go limp.

With the demon unable to block any more attacks, Mercedes uses the opportunity to launch a string of attacks. She starts by rocking the dark mystic's jaw with her knee, causing him to stumble backward.

The silver-white-haired girl rushes forward, she throws two punches with her left while her right hand makes a mechanical noise just before she drives it through the pastel purple-skinned demon's chest.

Mercedes removes her hand from the demon's insides, and he falls to the ground. "Filthy," said Mercedes as she crossed over the lifeless body of the demon and began approaching Chelsea who put her hands in the air ready to face the battlemage.

Mercedes suddenly took a step back and a trident hit the ground just in front of her. The silver-haired woman looked at the top of the building by her right to see a being that looked like a human from the waist up but the rest of her body was snakelike.

The doe-eyed girl turned back to the spot where the pastel purple-skinned demon's body was to find that the body was gone. "I see."
