"Finally some rest."
Kyoko sighed as he threw himself on the couch. After a week of walking in and out of the real estate, looking up suitable buildings, and finally moving. That was all omitting the 15 hours travel from Sethia to the Capital of Emerald.
The exhaustion of continuous human interaction, travelling and the nervousness of living in a new city, was all sinking.
"Hey, we still need to unpack," Seto said, trying to wake Kyoko.
"Nooo, I don't want to."
"I could but we are in this together. Remember?" Seto raised his shoulder and gave him a don't-forget-your-promise face.
Kyoko opened his mouth, trying to retort when the doorbell rang.
"Did you?"
"No, I didn't," Seto replied.
"We don't have any friends here. Who could it be?"
Both of them looked at each other simultaneously, and without a word, Kyoko jumped out of the couch and reached the door in 2 huge jumps.
Wasn't he tired? Seto looked at him with bitch resting face.
The door flung and a nicely clad Arnold greeted Kyoko with a warm smile.
The laters eyes naturally fell on the white paper bag Arnold had carried, a sweet smell of dumplings made his mouth water.
"Thank you for the food. You are a lifesaver."
Without giving Arnold the chance to say anything, he took his from Arnold's hand and dashed to take out the plates.
He must be really hungry. Arnold chuckled.
"Don't just stand there like an idiot. Come inside." Seto said.
Arnold quietly entered and sat in the place where Kyoko was previously sitting.
"Why are you ignoring your brother-in-law?"
Seto glared at him.
"Gross."
"Hey! What was that?!"
"Ahh you are annoying, don't speak." Arnold cupped his ears with a visible frown on his face.
"What happened to that good boy, gentleman attitude?"
Seto pried further.
"I have news on Sasaki Ame."
As soon as the words fell from Arnold's mouth, Seto straightened his posture and took a long breath.
"I did all the procedures and he is ready to be transferred to the Millenium hospital." Arnold continued.
"What?! The hospital for the rich? We can't afford-
"As I said, I don't need you to pay me, darling's brother is also my brother now, but just do me one favour and I will consider it paid."
Arnold smirked at Seto.
"And what is that?"
"The ambulance will be leaving in about 30 minutes from the hospital, you know they need a family member and being his mate you are eligible too... I was thinking-
Seto got up in an instant.
"Fine. I am leaving, have your time with Kyoko."
"Have a nice trip." Arnold chimed at Seto who in response rolled his eyes.
It had been 5 minutes since Seto left and Kyoko still hadn't come out of the kitchen.
"What are you doing?" Arnold decided to peek inside.
Kyoko flinched and slowly turned halfway, his cheeks stuffed with dumplings he was having a moment ago. Somehow he looked panicked.
Is it another stalker?
Arnold's mind automatically thought about it and clenched his fist in anger.
"Arnold save me." Kyoko pleaded.
The latter got to his side and placed both of his hands on Kyoko's shoulder, he bent down a little to make eye contact.
"What happened?" Arnold asked, concerned.
"I....I ate all the dumplings you brought, there's none for Seto and I can't find any edible item here." Kyoko suppressed his voice as much as possible while looking at the door.
Arnold stared at Kyoko for a while and burst into fits of laughter. "Ahh, darling.. that's so like you." He placed a kiss on Kyoko's cheeks.
"Also Seto just left for your brother." He continued.
"Thank you he left- wait he left?! Without me? And you didn't tell me?"
"They only needed one person. It's not a big deal-
"He is my brother and it's a big deal!"
Arnold was startled by Kyoko's sudden outburst. One of the things he couldn't understand after all he never came from a loving family. Neither he had someone he ever cared for before Kyoko.
Before Arnold could say anything, Kyoko was already on the phone calling Seto.
On the other hand, Seto was already on his way, when he saw the caller id he knew what it was for.
"Seto, how could you?"
He pulled his head away from the phone.
"What did I do now?"
"You went to see Ame. What about me?"
"What about you? It will take 3 days for me to be there again, do you think I will allow you? We need to set up the cafe too."
Seto tried to reason with Kyoko.
"But-
"No buts, if you haven't finished everything by the time I get there, you better run away."
Seto tried to sound as threatening as he could.
"You aren't doing a thing to my darling," Arnold said from the other side and Seto let out a snort.
"Whatever. Just enjoy yourselves love birds." He hung up the phone.
Kyoko looked at the phone and then at Arnold, who was already staring at Kyoko.
"He seriously hung up on me."
Arnold on the other hand chuckled and cupped Kyoko's cheeks, their face inching closer.
"Then why don't we follow what Seto said just now?"
All shades of red coloured Kyoko's cheeks as he looked away.
"You mean setting up the cafe?"
He pushed Arnold away and got out of the kitchen, fanning himself.
"Darling don't pretend you don't know what I meant," Arnold said as he followed Kyoko.
