Chapter 25 - Other Side of the World

Ai's eyes suddenly shone. Quickly looking over to Shuyun, she shook.

"I have received summons from the Queen. She has said to have you reside in the room I had just assigned to you further until she says so. All your amenities will be taken care of."

Ai places her hand on the door. An invisible string suddenly flowed from the center of Shuyun's chest, flowing into Ai's hand as the imprint of the hand on the door lit up. As soon as the process finished, Ai quickly bowed.

"As that is all, I am leaving"

Her image became a mirage as she disappeared from the space in front of him. Shuyun stared at the empty ground in front of him as he let out a deep breath, walking into the room shortly after.

Unspecified Location, Draconic Realm.

Within an extremely large, dark room, a man quickly hurried down the long stretch of red carpet. The room was dimly lit, only the bare minimum of light reflected off the long polished floors.

Kneeling before an empty large matte black throne, he spoke.

"Your humble servant has received urgent news hailing from the Elfin Realm"

Suddenly, a black fog clouded the throne. Warping, a devilish figure emerged from within it. Black horns protruded through black silky hair that cascaded down the figures back. A pair of crimson eyes opened, reflecting the very depths of hell itself. The figures voluptuous body couldn't be hidden by the pure black robe as it tightened at the waist to reveal her towering bosom. Even with such loose clothing, it seemed impossible to hide such assets.

Truly the harbinger of calamity the moment anyone laid their eyes upon her.

Upon seeing the man before her, she smiled. Her pearly white teeth shown through her luscious red lips as she spoke.

"Oh? Those worthless spies have finally amounted to something"

She slightly narrowed her eyes in doubt, recalling the years of sending spies into the elfin realm to no avail.

"Yes, Empress. In fact, the one who sent the message via the Long Distance Delayed Communication Stone is already here now. We had sent an envoy to receive him in case you would want to confirm the legitimacy of events."

The Empresses smile further widened. Lucky, throughout this entire interaction, he had kept his head lowered, or else, even he wouldn't be able to hold himself back.

But even after a few moments passed, he had yet to garner a response from the Empress.

"Would you like me to bring him here?"

Soon after he spoke, her melodious voice rang out once more.

"No need"

She stood up from her chair, appearing fairly tall in stature. Her robes split at her thigh to reveal her perfectly white legs.

"Bring me to him"

*Creak*

A door opened. Walking in, two figures entered the room one after another. Waiting for them while standing up, the elfin man was stunned at the goddess before him. Rarely anyone saw the proud and beautiful ruler of the dragon race, as even her own subordinates hardly looked at her figure to preserve their own life. Her beauty was too dangerous, to the point that any gazes of lust upon her would be met with the perpetrators untimely death. The Empress felt no connection to inferior life itself, killing her own people on a whim was not unheard off. It was this ruthless personality that allowed her to rein supreme amongst the prideful dragon race.

It was this same beauty that made the elfin man forget the person that was in his presence, gawking at her without reserve.

*Cling*

Before any words of praise could be heard from the man, his head felt cleanly off of his neck.

"General Bai, I thought I had specifically told you to teach these loose dogs manners before I came here?"

The general suddenly froze. The Empress sighed as she bent down to the severed head.

"Now look at what I have to do, searching his soul requires physical touch..."

General Bai stood in shock as he witnessed the Empress slowly putting her hand upon the served heads temple. Many, many thoughts running threw his head about the grave error he had just committed. He was too excited to deliver the news to the empress, excepting to be rewarded, that he forgot the most basic thing that is always asked of him. Of course, as the Empress of the prideful dragon race, reverence and respect is most demanded by her, naturally, as she's a dragon. But, even this most simple task and requirement he failed to do in his greed.

"...now I am stained with this mans filth because you couldn't manage to control this inferior species, truly a shame to have our dragon blood running through you"

She slightly shivered upon touching the heads temple for a moment before she retracted her hand. It was only now that the general shook himself out of his stunned state. Immediately, he prostrated himself, cold sweat running down his head.

"I am so s-"

"Useless"

In the next instant, he too lost his head.

The Empress showed no remorse having lost one of her powerful generals, instead, distaining the decision to forsake his pride as a dragon to gravel on the floor for forgiveness.

Though if he didn't, and stood his ground, the Empress would've favored him more. Instead of granting him such a boring death, maybe she would've decided to slowly dismember him to give him a death truly worthy of a dragon.

"Jing, see to it that his family is also killed"

A beautiful figure, cloaked in purple, manifested out of a thick black fog. She too, like the empress, also had two prominent horns protruding out of her head that the general lacked. Though, unlike most of the Empresses subordinates, she met the eyes of the Empress, her purple eyes unwavering and indifferent as she looked straight back at them. Jing bowed.

"Yes, my empress"

Her figure flashed out of reality soon after.

The Empress had just commanded the slaughter of what could be hundreds of dragons ranging from hatchlings to grown females and males of General Bai's family, a powerful family of the draconic realm. Even though she would lose a good amount of military might, there were thousands of powerful dragon families, losing a few here and there didn't bother her. It was necessary though, as in her eyes...

"All problems should be left with no roots"

She stared in the direction of the Elfin Realm, her mouth widening as she confirmed the information from the mans head.

"Soon..."
