Clare POV
Sweat dripped from my forehead as I dove to the side to avoid the attack.
"Is that all you got?" Leonel laughed and teased as we sparred in the training arena.
"Hey, some of us were shot and are still recovering, you know," I sassed back.
Leonel put his hands up in a defensive manner. "Hey, you were the one that said no excuses. I told you that you should rest for at least another week. Plus, you were grazed. Don’t be so dramatic."
"Oh, quit talking and just fight," I said with a jab, but there was a smile on my face regardless.
It had been two weeks since the battle with Jim and the other packs and I was just now starting to feel normal again. The bullets that Jim had used were meant to slow wolf healing and it had taken what seemed like forever to get off bed rest. While it was painful, I was thankful it wasn’t as serious as we all thought.
Sure, I lost a lot of blood, but nothing vital was hit.
