Clare POV
A male wolf stood in front of me now—the same one from my dream a few weeks ago. My chest felt tight. His eyes were burning into me, and I couldn't look away. I was vaguely aware of the mass of bodies looming from behind, but this time all of my focus was on him.
I couldn't leave him.
He seemed to see my defiance and shouted, through the mindlink: ‘Just run!’
I jolted up in bed as the last words of my recurring dream faded slowly. The emerald gaze that I saw burning into me was harder to shake though, even as I opened my eyes and tried to look around the dark room.
It was just me in my bedroom, and based on the light, or lack of light rather, it had to be the middle of the night. I still had time before we left. Taking a long breath, I laid back down in my bed and stared up at the ceiling.
‘Are you alright?’ I heard a voice echo through my mind, and I knew that it was Leonel's. Instead of answering, I just rolled my eyes and rolled onto my side.
