Chapter 63 - Loss

2 weeks later:

"How about we go to the water park on Wednesday?" Klaus suggested Liam was busy on his phone. He was smiling ears to ear, looks like love was filling the air. "Liam?" Klaus asked looking at him, "EARTH TO LUCAS!" He yelled, "Huh? What were you saying?" He asked shocked, "Who's got you smiling at your phone like that?" He asked, "Nobody." Liam replied hiding his phone, "What were you saying?" He asked, "I was saying we could go to the water park on Wednesday." Klaus remarked, "Yeah that's no problem, I'm also sure Abdul will love to tag along." Liam stated, "That'll be so awesome!" Klaus rejoiced.

As Klaus continued to talk Liam went back to smiling at his phone. He was texting Lucas and it looked like Liam was very hooked on the conversation that he wasn't even paying attention to his friend who he was making plans with.

"Seriously Liam, who are you talking to?" Klaus asked again, "No one." He replied, "Okay then let me see your phone." He said reaching out his hand, "Why should I, it's my phone." He said placing it in his pocket. "Is it Lucas that you are talking to?" He asked, "Why do you ask?" "Because there's no other person that can make you smile from ear to ear like that." He stated, "Okay then it's Lucas." He admitted, "Is He the reason why you rejected me when I told you I like you?" He asked, "Look, Klaus, I already told you that I see you as a little brother and that's it." He told him. "Well, I would like to be something more than a brother." He said as he went back to fixing his hair in the mirror.

"We'll sorry you can't change that," Liam said going back to his phone.

"I'll be back late today so make sure your dad goes to sleep." Love told the girls, "You too Chloé, I don't want you to be in the kitchen around 3 In the night." She told her. "Okay, I understand." She replied. "Also Lucas don't forget to put eye drops when going to bed." "Okay, Mom." He replied. "See you guys later." She hugged and kissed them goodbye and headed out.

Outside she met Davian on the phone and kissed him goodbye. "Be back soon." He told her, "Sure will sweetheart." She smiled as she gave him one last passionate kiss.

Later that evening:

"Didn't your mom say not to be in this kitchen at midnight?" Davian asked Chloé, "I was thirsty," she replied sipping on a juice box. "Okay now, go back to your room." He told her as he closed the fridge.

Before Chloé headed upstairs she asked a question. "How did you and mom meet?" She asked, "Why are you asking so suddenly?" "I'm just curious." She replied. Davian pulled a chair from the kitchen counter and sat down. "I don't even know where to start." He chuckled, "It's okay, take your time I'm all ears." She said as she sat down next to her dad.

"Well I knew your mom since freshman year of Highschool but we didn't start dating until she was in junior year and I was in senior year." He told her, "Who made the first move?" She asked, "I did," he replied, "I was so head over heels for her, she looked like an angel when I first saw her." He smiled, "Eww dad, that's cheesy." "Don't worry sweetheart, you'll feel like that when you fall in love. I mean look at me, I've been with your mom for almost 7 years and I still get nervous every time I see her." He stated. "I feel like I'm the luckiest man in the world, your mom is just so amazing. I'm glad I made a family with her." He smiled.

"What would you do if something happened to her," Chloé asked

"I would do everything in my power to protect her and take care of our family," Davian replied, his expression turning serious. "Life is unpredictable, and challenges may come our way, but I'll always be there for her, just as she's there for me."

Chloé looked at her dad, a mix of curiosity and reassurance in her eyes. "And what about when you guys have disagreements or arguments?"

Davian chuckled softly. "Oh, those happen in every relationship, sweetheart. Your mom and I, we've had our fair share of disagreements over the years. But what's important is how we handle them. We communicate we listen to each other's perspectives, and we find ways to compromise. Love isn't just about the good times; it's about growing together through the challenges."

Chloé nodded, absorbing her dad's words. "It sounds complicated."

"It can be, but it's worth it," he assured her. "Building a strong relationship takes effort and patience, but the rewards are immeasurable. Your mom and I have been through a lot together, and each experience has brought us closer. We've learned to support each other, to be each other's rock."

Chloé smiled. "I hope I find someone like that someday."

"I do not doubt that you will," Davian said, his eyes filled with pride. "You're a smart, kind, and beautiful young woman. When the right person comes along, you'll know."

Suddenly Davian's phone started ringing. He grabbed his phone and it was an unknown number.

"Hello." He answered the call,

"Is this Mr. Lee?" The person asked, "Yes this is he." He replied, "Mrs. Lee your wife has been admitted to the emergency room and we need you here asap sir."

Davian's eyes opened wide as the phone fell out of his hand. "Dad, are you okay?" Chloé asked worried, "Come lock the door Chloé, I'll be handing out." He said as he quickly got up and stormed out. "BUT WHERE ARE YOU GOING!" She shouted.

The door slammed behind Davian as he opened the car.

Davian's heart raced as he sped down the road toward the hospital, his mind a whirlwind of worry and fear. He couldn't believe what he had just heard – Love had been admitted to the emergency room. The uncertainty weighed heavily on his chest, and he struggled to maintain his composure.

As he navigated the streets, his thoughts raced back to all the memories he and Love had created together. He remembered their laughter, their shared dreams, and the unwavering support they had provided each other throughout the years. The idea of anything happening to her felt like a nightmare he couldn't wake up from.

At the hospital, Davian parked his car hastily and rushed inside, his heart pounding in his ears. He quickly approached the reception desk, his voice tense as he spoke to the nurse. "I'm here for Love Lee. She was just admitted to the emergency room."

The nurse looked up, her expression sympathetic. "Mr. Lee, please have a seat. The doctor will be with you shortly."

Davian nodded, his fingers tapping nervously on his thighs as he took a seat in the waiting area. The minutes felt like an eternity as he replayed the phone call in his mind and wondered what could have happened. He wished he could be by Love's side, holding her hand and reassuring her that everything would be okay.

After what felt like an eternity, a doctor finally approached Davian. "Mr. Lee, I'm Dr. Hernandez. Your wife is currently undergoing some tests, and we're monitoring her condition closely. We'll keep you updated as soon as we have more information."

Davian nodded, his throat tight. "Can I see her?"

Dr. Hernandez smiled kindly. "As soon as we have her stabilized, you'll be able to see her. We're doing everything we can to ensure her well-being."

"How about The baby, Is the baby okay?!" He asked panicking. The doctor sighed and shook his head. "Due to the severe damage from the car accident, she had a miscarriage." The doctor told him.

Davian's world seemed to shatter with those words. He stood there, frozen in disbelief, his mind struggling to process the devastating news he had just received. He felt like he was spiraling, emotions swirling within him in a chaotic storm. The doctor's words echoed in his ears – a miscarriage due to the car accident.

Tears welled up in Davian's eyes as he sank into a chair nearby, his hands shaking. He was overwhelmed by a mixture of sorrow, anger, and an indescribable emptiness. The thought of losing their baby, a future they had been eagerly looking forward to, was a pain that cut deep.
