Chapter 43 - Blind

Thronir and Vlohrir cleared the first ranks of men that were guarding their way with relative ease. They stood at the edge of the gates leaning against the walls, and they kept their eyes closed. They had trained very hard for this combat and practiced to fight with their eyes closed and only hitting the targets with the sound that their ears received. The Hylin on top made very few noises but the bullets almost struck them. Sensing that the enemy has trained for blond combat, they closed their eyes and limited their movement. But even the slightest of movement was enough for the dwarves to draw their bullets. A bullet hit the Hylin on the leg and she fell down. Thronir put a bullet on her head. The other Hylin tiptoed her way from one corner to another and a few bullets missed her. Thronir entered his "Kien". Where he could focus on the smallest noises and picturize the whole scenario in his head. One more step, he waited as he was fully focused in his "Kien". The Hylin took another step and now he knew where the Hylin exactly was and he put a bullet in her head.

Thud! She too fell on the ground next to the other Hylin. Thronir was out of his "Kien" as he and Vlohrir walked into the Palace gates. They met a pair of eyes in the corner. Hide Brother! its a Hylin, said Vlohrir. Vlohrir and Thronir closed their eyes and hid behind a wall. Thronir could sense that there was about four or five Hylin that were headed their way. He sensed a movement, Thronir close to him, but decided to close his eyes. The Hylin patrolled the area for some time and decided to move away! Thronir had his eyes closed and was not tempted to enough to see what the movement was. He focused on his "Kien" and could feel the presence of Vlohrir close by, so he left it at that. "Time to open your eyes" said a voice. Thronir opened his eyes and could instantly see that he was much taller than Vlohrir, and the eyes were sharp and merciless like a wild animals. Who are you? asked Thronir as he pointed his gun at Seronn. Not a good time to ask questions, he said to him. Where is Vlohrir? he asked Seronn. The dwarf? he ran away, said Seronn. Cannot be! replied Thronir. He just did not believe in your ideals that much, said Seronn who was Mask less as the rain dropped on his face. For the first time there was a definition of a face for Seronn, as the raindrops formed around him. Come let us go, he said to Thronir. Thronir was confused but he chose to follow the lead of Seronn! Seronn scanned the environment, as the moon started to reappear. There was a bit of light around. He came closer to Thronir, and he saw the mans face. Thronir was stumped. Seronn flung him to the top of the roof. And then he himself jumped to the roof. The two men were on the roof, as the moon was almost back to its full glory. THey saw the group of Hylin's and Seronn pointed his gun at them. Only silver pierces through them, said Thronir. Seronn took aim and shot a Hylin dead. Silver! he said to the dwarf. Now he had his mask put on his face. The Hylin jumped on the roof themselves and shot arrows at the both of them. Seronn and Thronir jumped from one roof to another evading the arrows!

Now the Hylin shot fire arrows, and were almost hitting them both. They leapt from one roof to another as the fire arrows swarmed the skies on to them. It was a sight to behold! An arrow just came in and fell right in front of Thronir, missing his foot by an inch. He leapt passed it and they slid across the roof and jumped over to another. An arrow then came and pierced Seronn through the heart. He took it out and continued to run, as though nothing had happened. Thronir was busy looking at the illuminated sky, as it was like sunshine. Yes, he had heard all about it, the sun. It was written in their lore.

Centuries ago, their planet had a sun. They were cursed by the sun and no sunshine had shone through, because of a misdeed that the then Dwarven king had done. "The dwarves had ruled the planet when the sun shone, and the Hylin were merely a warrior clan that resided in the forests. You see Plithir was not always hidden in darkness, it was once a prosperous planet like Andora. The dwarven king, again named Aramir the second, was a fine king who had ruled the planet with a just hand. He never saw one from another and saw everyone equally. And he had a general named Sigorin, said to be large for a Dwarf. They could be compared to Archimedes and late general Marcus of Andorra. We could go into this later on, for now a battle enfolds!

Hide here! said Seronn to Thronir, as they were covered themselves behind a wooden ledge. Seronn took his gun and took Thronir's as well and walked ahead with the two guns in his hands. He stood face to face with the Hylin.

A few minutes later....

Seronn came back to where Thronir was hid and told him to get up. He was still with the arrows stuck to his chest. He plucked them one by one as they moved forward, and one he threw it at the head of the hylin, piercing him in her eyes. Some men came forward bravely and they were met with the same fate. They were getting closer to the cell where the dwarf was being held captive. Seronn turned back at Thronir and knackered him on the head with his made him unconscious.

" You do not die today" he said to him!
