"He's been out for several days. There's no telling when he could wake up. He was lucky to get back to the manor in time. He was leaking mana like crazy."
"Poor guy. Please inform us when he comes. Things have been a little chaotic with people wanting to meet with him."
"I know. We've already had a bunch of people at the gate of the estate wanting to thank him."
"Willow got sick with a serious case of Wood Rot a few days prior to it. He saved their life."
"Stories like that are appearing every day. He really pulled off something amazing."
"It's about time that you lot get home. I'll make sure he knows you were here."
A bunch of footsteps leave the room, the door closing behind them. Christopher's eyes open debilitatingly. "So I've been out for a while, huh?" His voice is dry and hoarse.
"Don't try to talk. Have something to drink first." Jasyn says, sitting sideways on the bed next to him. He picks up a tall glass with a straw and holds it close to Christopher's face.
The edges of Christopher's mouth pull up into a smile at his gesture. He sits up slightly and takes a small sip of the water. "Magicite Powder. Just like we planned."
"Dime reminded me that Magicite Powder can help close Mana Leaking wounds. I've been trying to do it while you were asleep too, but I was afraid you might choke." Jasyn admits.
"You're cute." Christopher says, tilting his head to the side.
Jasyn blushes lightly. He points to the opposite side of the bed where Beerwolf is sleeping on the floor. "Beerwolf hasn't left your side since you passed out. He was just as worried as I was."
"He really decided to domesticate himself, didn't he?" Christopher says.
"I'm not sure that's the right way to describe it. But sure." Jasyn says.
Christopher's eye's catch Tari's light as he slams into his chest.
(Narrator) I'm so glad you're ok! I was getting so worried!
"It's alright Tari. I'm feeling more like myself."
(Narrator) Don't ever do that to me ever again!
"Haha. No promises, Tari."
…
"So what is your diagnosis Dr. Laird?" Christopher jokes.
"Heh. Bed rest. And lots of Magicite infused water." Jasyn kisses his forehead and places his glass on the bedside table.
"Damn, stuck in bed." Christopher pouts.
"I could be stuck here with you." Jasyn says, leaning over with a suggestive look.
Christopher stops him with a finger before their lips touch, Jasyn practically climbing on top of him. "Nah. I'm still in recovery. Plus you have a duty to see to. Make sure you tell everyone my appreciation as well."
"You're no fun." Jasyn teases.
"You're gonna get a foot up your arse in a minute. Go!" Christopher says with a laugh.
"Alright." Jasyn laughs, getting up from the bed.
"Be safe out there. If anything happens, jump into the dimension. I'll have Beerwolf head to your location." Christopher says.
Jasyn kisses him on the forehead. "I'll be fine." He leaves the room and Beerwolf wakes up to the door closing.
Beerwolf makes a groaning sound as he stretches. A loud high pitched squeak sees him yawning. He sits up, seeing Christopher awake atop the bed. "Master! You're awake."
Christopher looks at him as he stands, noticing his creased uniform. "Get changed. You've slept in your suit."
"I'm sorry, Master. I'll just be a moment." Beerwolf bows and hurriedly exits the room.
(Narrator) So how long do you think it will take for you to recover?
"I'm not too sure. We predicted that such a massive spell would cause me issues. Since it's the first time I've ever cast it, it's only expected."
(Narrator) Do you have a rough estimate? I would like to skip recording you stuck in this bed if possible.
"Maybe two weeks to a month. It's hard to tell. It depends on how well the magicite powder works in closing the mana leak." Christopher says.
(Narrator) Alright then folks. See you then.
"You said that aloud again Tari."
(Dime) Looking as dashing as ever, Your Majesty.
"Ew. Just call me what you usually do. I'm not comfortable with titles yet." Christopher says, straightening his tie in a mirror.
(Narrator) Your Majesty does indeed look smart.
"Don't you start either Tari!" Christopher bites.
(Narrator) I was only joking around.
"*sigh* You lot are gonna make me sweat in a minute."
(Narrator) You'll get used to it eventually. Besides, you're going to have everyone in the city calling you by your title now.
"Yeah, and I'm already exhausted just thinking about it."
(Dime) Sir Laird has finished informing the people at the gate of your full recovery.
"Great. Now even more people are going to be swarming the entrance." Christopher sighs. "Has the carriage arrived?"
(Dime) It got here just before sunrise, Sir. They are just waiting for you.
"Good." Christopher hangs his head back. "Political campaigns are a pain. Do I really need to go to Mercter?"
(Dime) King Shavik says it's important to show yourself before a nation. Especially since you were just established in every guild hall across the two continents.
(Narrator) I can get cold in Mercter around this time of year. Do you have anything to wrap up in?
"Huh? I have that bracelet, remember? I don't need anything."
(Dime) That is not what they mean, Sir. The people in the northern half of the country have very different traditional attire. It would show respect if you were to wear something they would call fashionable and warm.
"Well, at least I have a legitimate reason to visit the college now." Christopher says, straightening the collar on his blazer.
(Narrator) Why would you need to go over there?
"If I need a new outfit, I can just request Haider and Heather to make one for me." Christopher explains.
(Narrator) Isn't that a little exploitative?
"No. I'll pay them for their time of course." Christopher says.
(Dime) I will inform them of your visit then, Sir.
"No, only inform the principal of my visit. Put it as a delivery request at the guild. Make sure the reward is generous." Christopher says. Looking to see if everything is in place.
(Dime) Letter is being made, Sir.
"Thank you Dime."
…
Beerwolf knocks on the door to his room and walks on through. He is wearing golden fabric shoulder pads on his suit.
(Narrator) Huh, He put his suit on correctly this time. Not to mention the fact he walked in without an answer.
"It's time to leave, Master." Beerwolf says.
Christopher turns to Wolfman as he speaks. "You should wait for an answer before." Christopher looks him up and down, analysing his suit. "Congrats Beerwolf. You set up your outfit perfectly today. Be proud." Christopher tosses him a gold coin.
Beerwolf's tail wags excitedly. "Thank you, Master." He blushes slightly as he looks at the gold coin in his hand.
"Let's be off then. I don't want to keep the carriage here longer than they already have." Christopher says, swiftly exiting the room.
At the bottom of the grand staircase, Jasyn waits. He is dressed in custom made Mythril plate armour with the Loreafan Royal Crest slapped on the breastplate and shoulder pieces.
"Simply exquisite." Christopher says.
Jasyn turns to look at him and starts to cackle. "Royal etiquette really isn't your style, is it my love?"
Christopher's shoulders slouch. "Stop laughing at me. It's exhausting enough as it is to keep up. With you making fun of me it just makes this worse for me!" he runs down the rest of the stairs and punches him square in the jaw.
As Christopher is numbing the pain in his knuckle, Jasyn continues to laugh as he takes off his helm. "It's like you never even punched me. Mythril was certainly the correct choice my love."
Through pained forceful words Christopher says, "I'm glad I chose to pay for it." With his hand no longer in pain, he stands up straight and kisses his beloved Jasyn on the cheek. "Ibun sure has made a fortune accepting this request. Not to mention you're looking mighty alluring."
"Is that right? Perhaps I should dawn this armour more often then." Jasyn says with a smirk.
"I love strong men." Christopher says, pressing up against him.
Beerwolf cough's. "Need I remind you that we are already running late."
"Since when did you become such a party pooper?" Christopher moues.
"I may be your slave, but you gave me the duties of your personal attendant and butler. That means I have certain responsibilities to keep you on schedule as well." Beerwolf bows.
"I see the maids have trained you thoroughly. And at a record pace at that." Christopher says with a glunch.
"They are valued co-workers. As well as my mentors and superiors." Beerwolf praises, a sparkle in his eyes.
…
Jasyn smiles. "Let's get going then"
