Chapter 99 - Chapter 6 Part 3

(Dime) Diplomatic relations with The Mining Kingdom of Irejescorst have been successfully established as of this morning. Loreafan is now officially recognised by their Kingdom's Queen as a sovereign nation.

"Oh that's great news! This should move a little faster now." Christopher says. The announcement making him chipper.

"Only Tholvia left now hun." Jasyn says with a beaming smile.

"I'm a little nervous to be honest." Christopher says.

(Narrator) Why do I get the nagging feeling that Tholvia is going to be a problem?

"Don't say that now! Aaug! Tari, Why did you have to say that out loud?! You ass!" Christopher says.

(Nebulon) His 'feeling' doesn't change the course of any possible reality. Just deal with any problems that may occur.

"That didn't help me at all, Nebulon! I want to wipe the both of you out of existence right now!" Christopher says in a growl.

Jasyn notices concerned looks from Vall and the rookie behind the counter. "Oh don't worry. He has the Spatial Attribute. He has a Wisp following him." He sees their expressions soften as Vall puts a large bag of coins on the counter.

"I feel like I'm going mad with Tari around sometimes." Christopher says, straightening himself up. "Sorry about that. Thank you for your business Vall." He says, pointing to the bag. Dime takes the coins away.

We've finally made it to the Middle Class District. Beerwolf is squatting down, giving packaged meals to the homeless kids approaching him. Jasyn and Christopher watch him as he happily smiles on.

"He seems to like knowing that people are fed." Jasyn says.

"He must have been one of the hunters back in his village. Maybe the leader of them when Beluf left to live with my dad." Christopher speculates.

Beerwolf stands back up once everyone receives a box, slinging the package on his back. He walks back to Christopher with a light flush and a tooth bearing smile on his face.

"Are we ready to keep moving now?" Christopher asks.

A small human child, just skin and bones tugs onto Beerwolf's trousers. "Thank you, kind sir." Her voice is weak and gravely. Christopher frowns slightly.

"Your welcome, little one. But you should really thank my Master over there." Beerwolf says, pointing over to Christopher. "This food is thanks to him."

The little girl looks over and Christopher kneels on the ground and waves. "When was the last time you had something to drink?" he asks. Dime gives him a very large waterskin. "Here, this should last your group a couple days."

The girl walks over and takes the waterskin, barely able to lift it. "Thank you sir."

"Is there something stopping you guys from drinking any water?" Christopher asks.

"The well dried up. Other ones are too far away for us."

Christopher looks up at Jasyn then back at the girl. "I'll see if we can do anything about that, ok?" He says, ruffling the top of her head. "Here." Christopher says, dropping a small stone pin in her hair.

"What is it?"

"It's a pendant that I can make glow red and blue." Christopher says. "If it glows blue. You will know the well is repaired. If it's red, it will let you know I'm on my way. Because I refuse to let people go hungry or thirsty." The girl nods. "Now, get back to your group." He says, standing up.

She scampers off, waterskin dragging on the floor. The rest of the group wave goodbye as Christopher, Jasyn, and Beerwolf move on.

"We're already a few hours late getting to the church. Do we have enough time to fix the water supply in this area?" Jasyn asks.

"No, that's why you're going to The Harrowers Adventurer's Guild Hall to post it as a job. Put the reward as 2 gold." Christopher says. When Jasyn doesn't immediately go, he pushes him forward. "Now would be a good time!"

"What about you? You can't be walking around on your own." Jasyn says.

Christopher looks at him like he's stupid. "I'm one of the world's most powerful Spatial Mages. I'll be fine. Plus Beerwolf is here. His nose can sniff out ill intent from a mile away. Now move before I drop you from a mile in the air!" Christopher says.

Jasyn hesitantly hurries down the road, turning right at the nearest crossing.

"Be on your guard now, Beerwolf. People tend to think Jasyn is a powerful guard, so now that he's not here, those who are spying on us will be more bold." Beerwolf nods and he starts discreetly sniffing the air. He looks to Christopher with a blank unchanging expression. "Nothing as of yet? Good, let's get to the Church."

"Ah, Mr Newman! What brings you here today? You're a little later than usual." A woman dressed in religious garments says.

"Sorry about that, Sister Yatha. There was an issue back over at The Merchant's Guild. I'm here to give you the remainder of our food boxes for the homeless and possibly help lighten the load for you by healing some of the sick and injured." Christopher says.

"Your assistance would be much appreciated. If your companion would just follow me. Sister Kelli and Father Graco are further inside treating some of the sick at this very moment." Sister Yatha says. She walks away, taking Beerwolf with her.

"*Sigh* I guess it's just you and me Tari. Let's go heal some people." Christopher says, taking off his blazer and rolling up his sleeves. Dime takes his suit jacket for safe keeping.

"Afternoon Sister Kelli." Christopher says, walking into a room filled with the injured.

"Christopher! Perfect timing. Can you please help that man over there? His arm needs reattaching before he bleeds out." Sister Kelli says, nodding her head over to the person she's talking about. She looks tired

"Certainly. I'll get right to it." Christopher takes a High Grade Mana Potion and places it next to her. She gives him a relieved smile.

"Hello sir." Christopher says, getting down on his knees next to them.

The man is clutching at what's left of his arm an exhausted and agonised expression on his face. "Please, just help me."

"I'll do everything I can for you. I'll make sure you're fixed up in no time." Christopher says calmly.

He uses one arm to cast numbing magic on them, with the other he picks up their arm and carefully realigns it. "Once I start healing, it's going to hurt again. Try not to move if you can help it."

Christopher stops his numbing spell and closes his eyes, hovering his hand where he needs to cast. "Moonlit Sanctuary." Christopher says, his voice carrying elegance.

The two get surrounded in a blue haze populated by starlight. The tiny specs of starlight converge and congregate around the open wound. The man looks shocked but no longer in pain. As the seconds go by, the arm reattaches. Starting from the bones, then flesh, and finally the skin.

The haze dissipates and Christopher opens his eyes. "Try moving your arm."

The man lifts his arm up high, flexing and squeezing. He starts to laugh, a massive smile, accompanied by tears shows his pure disbelief and thanks. His eyes catch onto where the arm reattached, running his fingers along the scar.

"I unfortunately couldn't heal your arm without you having a scar. I hope you are ok with that." Christopher says, lowering his head.

"No, it's good. You actually saved my arm! I couldn't care less about the scar." The man grabs him by the shoulders. "Please, tell me your name. I want to know the name of the man who saved my arm, and my job."

Christopher looks up and smiles. "Hmm. How would I go about doing that?"

(Dime) Tholvia has just accepted Loreafan as a Country, Your Highness. You can now publicly announce who you are.

Dime places a delicate ornate crown atop his head. "I am the King of The Dimensional Kingdom of Loreafan, Christopher Newman."

Everyone in the room falls silent, even the injured. Stunned sweaty faces surround him, some slack jawed.

"Your Majesty. I have returned." Beerwolf says, entering the room and bowing.

The man Christopher just healed takes his hands of him in a panic. "I am so sorry, Your Royalness. I didn't mean to put my hands on you!"

"Please, calm yourself." Christopher asks. In which the man follows. "My country has no physical space in this world. It is all monitored and maintained within dimensions. I have a house here in the capital of your mighty Kingdom. It was solely created to assist the less fortunate such as refugees, the homeless, and the hungry." He stands to his feet and outstretches his arms. "You can find my Kingdom at any Adventurer Guild outpost in every Town and City across all regions of the continent."

"I am a King of Healing and Compassion. And any of those who test my limits and claim me as weak. I will show you my power." Christopher says, clasping his hands together under his chin.

(Narrator) Dime! This is the moment we were waiting for! Use up as much reserve as it takes!

Christopher's hands start to eliminate in a white light. When it becomes too bright to look at he snaps his arms out to his sides and yells, "Radiance!"

The familiar white column of light radiates outwards, encompassing a mile wide radius in an instant. It continues to grow, and grow, and grow, eventually drowning the entire Maranus capital in healing light. "Cure them all." Christopher mutters. In every district, every community, every alleyway, people inside the healing light are cured of all disease and injury in a matter of minutes. The paralysed, able to walk again. The blind, able to see for the first time. The terminally ill, cured. Nothing was left unsolved.

(Narrator) Engilram and Hilda would be so proud at this moment. Heddwyn is probably freaking out. Christopher improved on this spell to such an absurd degree that nothing the demons could produce in plague could survive. However there is an obvious flaw.

After Christopher is finished, Dime gives him some information.

(Dime) 87% of your reserve mana has been used, Your Highness.

Christopher breathes in short ragged breaths, exhausted by the spell. Beerwolf rushes to him as he starts to fall backwards. He catches him inches from the ground.

"Are you ok, Your Majesty?" Beerwolf asks, cradling him in his arms.

"I'm good. Just a little tired."

"Everyone here is healed." Sister Kelli says.

Sister Yatha comes rushing in, hair in a mess. "It's a miracle! Everyone. Every single person in the capital has been cured!"

"Is he a god?" a lady covered in bandages says.

The man he healed before the grand event rolls the shoulder of his now restored arm and says, "We may have just witnessed the first miracle grated by The Great Healer King of Loreafan!"

"Oh my. How embarrassing." Christopher mumbles, covering his face to hide his blush.

Sister Yatha, in between wheezes and gasps reinforces the legend. "Amputees have their limbs back. The blind are looking around, able to see everything. The deaf are hearing the world around them. The old lady with gout, no longer has gout! And, my curse is gone."

"I didn't know you were cursed." Sister Kelli says.

"I was cursed with infertility. That is why I became a priestess!" Sister Yatha says.

"Wait. then how do you know?" Sister Kelli asks.

Sister Yatha grabs a cloth and starts rubbing the back of her opposite hand. A storm of scars show under the makeup. "This, used to be corrupted skin. Not even the highest level Holy Potions could lift it. But he. Took it away and made new flesh and bone. I've known nothing like it. It's like the stories of the last Demon War. Stories of miracle workers saving the lives of their people with powerful magic. I thank you, from the bottom of my heart."

Jasyn pushes Yatha out of the way, sweating profusely. "What the fuck are you doing? We don't have any of the recovery stuff with us!"

"I'm sorry my love." Christopher says. passing out.

"We need to get him back to the mansion. Now!" Jasyn shouts, grabbing Christopher and barging through anyone in his way.
