Chapter 348 - The Crack in the Wall (2)

Airon didn't know what that crack in the wall was due to, but it was soon more evident something noticed by Rick and Daryl who was helping Carol jump.

"Don't stop, you have to get out of this place!"

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Airon started to eliminate walkers after knowing that they could get out if the door somehow collapsed, so it was better to do this than to confront them later.

There were still four people left to jump, but that number was too large as he didn't consider himself in that group. When Amy wanted to see what was going on, she heard Daryl's cold voice reminding her, "You better jump now if you don't want to kill us!"

Daryl didn't wait for her to make a decision, so after saying that, he threw her over the rope forcibly and then looked at Rick waiting for his decision.

"I'm coming after you!"

Rick looked towards the cracking wall and then looked at Abraham who was standing next to Airon continuously firing at the metal door.

Bang Bang Bang!

Bullets tore through the door and killed numerous walkers behind it, but the door was still holding. After all, the door could not be knocked down by a few bullets like in science fiction movies.

"Rick, jump now!"

Crak!

Airon, who pointed at Rick, felt a crunch on the floor after a loud vibration and his sight went down to his feet. Below, a crack spread out like a spider web and dust began to spill out of the fissures.

It was then that Airon knew that the roof of this building was about to collapse, but the problem was that he didn't know what this anomaly was due to. So after seeing Rick jump, Abraham looked at him and said, "We need to get out of this place!"

"I'm right behind you!"

Airon looked at Abraham for a few seconds and Abraham nodded, grabbed the rope as he prepared to climb down. However, at that moment the wall collapsed and the door that was held tightly fell to the ground.

The walkers behind it were from the runners, all of them who collapsed to the ground forward and it was then that Airon began to shoot with speed.

He had already put his mask back on, this was in case he had to enter melee combat at any time. It should have been known that his suit completely protected him from any kind of bite, and he was even safe from projectile impacts, so he wasn't worried.

"Airon, let's both jump!"

Abraham, who had not jumped, was waiting for him and Airon to jump together, but due to the sound of gunshots, the latter was unwilling and kept shooting.

Bang Bang Bang!

"Abraham, you have to get out of this place!"

The red-eyed walkers that had stood up were dying one after another under Abraham and Airon's precise shots, but he knew this wasn't enough and the cracks in the ground only endangered Abraham's jump if something went wrong.

Reloading his weapon, Airon kicked hard at a walker that was about to reach his body. The magazine of the P90's gun could load with a capacity of over 50 rounds, so as long as Airon fired accurately into the walker's head, they would all die without much trouble.

As he advanced toward Abraham, his shots became faster and faster. The way he manipulated the gun was as if his body was superhuman, moving the silenced gun barrel back and forth.

Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang!

Bullets were penetrating the heads of all the red eyed walkers coming out of the door, Abraham could no longer stay in this same place so after holding on as long as he could he jumped.

"Well done Abraham!"

...

George and the others had heard the gunshots that had not stopped even after Abraham had reached the other end of the building. They all knew that Airon had stayed on the other side, and when they heard that the door had been broken they all began to panic.

"Zz... Rosita, what is Airon's situation?"

"Zz... He has no chance of approaching the rope, there are numerous walkers running towards his figure right now."

When they all heard this, they felt a shiver run through their bodies. Airon, he was in trouble.

...

Bang!

Airon moved his body to a corner of the building and continued to shoot, his eyes wide open watching all of his enemies approaching without stopping.

The floor was completely cracked and everything seemed to indicate that the roof was about to collapse. Airon no longer had time to concentrate on anything but eliminating all the walkers with his P90 in hand, firing each shot with precision.

Ahead, there were at least two walkers running in his direction. As soon as they reached his side, Airon moved to the side and kept firing. Some of the walkers that had been running full speed at Airon fell through the roof of the building.

"Faster..."

Airon had to be faster, and just when he thought he was about to lose pace, several shots rang out in the distance and Sasha, who was holding his rifle was supporting him. That sudden assistance gave Airon a few seconds of help to reload his weapon.

Auge!

Punching a walker, Airon felt a bite on his suit and after pushing that walker with his body he moved between the other figures to try to gain enough time to load his weapon.

Roar!

The red-eyed walkers try to hold his body somehow, but the suit Airon had was glued to his body and the swords on his back plus the vest with magazines and his pistols were the only thing that protruded from his body.

Without giving the enemy a chance to break through his defenses, Airon finished loading his weapon and surrounded by walkers began to eliminate them one by one without losing his cool.

Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang!

The walker to his left was eliminated after shooting him in the head, moving behind that walker he fired two more shots and eliminated those closest to his position.

Blood and flesh flew everywhere and the ground began to fill with blood. Shells were flying out of Airon's gun and more corpses began to pile up on the rooftop.

CRACK!

At that moment, the ground began to make louder and louder sounds. Airon knew it was about to collapse so he had to walk towards the rope. But this meant he had to move forward among the numerous walkers ahead of him.

Roar!

Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang Bang!

Airon's body advanced further and further and kept firing, pulling the trigger after every second and taking out numerous walkers. His mind was with input on only one thing, eliminating walkers and surviving.

Airon needed to get out of this place!

But his situation was very bad. No matter how many walkers he eliminated, there were always a dozen more walkers that were running out the door. However, Airon was still advancing towards the rope slowly as he eliminated more walkers.

Bang!

Shooting the oncoming walker, Airon turned his body and prevented another walker from trying to bite him. Always looking at the surroundings and keeping a watchful eye at all times.

"Just a few more seconds!"

Being only a few meters away from the rope, Airon felt the ground vibrating more and more and just as he was about to get ready to grab the jump rope, he felt his footing lose balance and when he looked down his face was horrified.

The ground was collapsing!

"Ahhhhh!" With a furious roar, Airon tried to jump forward but a walker was much faster than him and pounced on his body. Losing the chance to continue firing, his body that had lost its balance was knocked down towards the ground and it was at that moment the ceiling completely collapsed.

Airon's eyes could only see the sky, and then numerous walker faces surrounding him. This situation was stupid, and this was all triggered by a series of events related to his own baseless decisions.

"Shit!"

The dust had already covered his sight and Airon only showed a nervous smile under his mask. This time would possibly be the end of him, unless his fall was a good one. But at the end of the day it all depended on his fall, and where the hell he ended up.

What caused the ceiling to collapse?
