It had been a long time since Airon had last been in a dangerous situation, was there even a moment of this similarity? He couldn't remember, from the beginning he had always been focused on his goals.
When he knew he was in this world, all those known and unknown events gave him a strong pressure to do something, he had to be smart about every single thing he had to do. He had no time to consider feelings, he used everything he had both to kill and to survive.
Many people trust him, from the beginning he made sure that this was the way it was treated. He could safely say that before he didn't mind dying, somehow or another he would die. After all, he is a mere human who is getting older day by day.
There were times when he was tired, not knowing exactly which way to go forward. Whether he was really rebuilding humanity's new future or just doing something.
But then he met Alicia, a girl he was compelled to lead. She was very similar to him in many ways, and after months of surviving this world he wanted to make a safe place where no one else would have to escape.
With that sense in her mind, she went to the Commonwealth to have an initial connection with that organization that Airon planned to have under his command. Many people were now in Airon's life, she began to feel again the warmth of friendship, love and of course protection.
In his previous life he had protected a whole country, he made sure that was the case no matter what the results were. And here, living another life he was about to do the same but this time he cared about the results.
He had to see with his own eyes the result of all his efforts, so he was not to die.
...
Boom! Crack! Boom!
Rocks in a large room were scattering on the ceiling that had collapsed. The sound of walkers could still be heard because of those left alive some were still grunting.
The figure of Airon lay motionless on the floor, no stone had caused him much damage so he was intact. But his body was not moving, as if he was still processing the state of his body.
"Cof* Cof*!"
Airon coughed twice before an electric shock alerted him that he was in a very dangerous situation, after grabbing his weapon again which he didn't let go of, he replaced the magazine and lifted his body off the ground.
"Zz... Boss, respond!"
Airon did not respond immediately, he looked at the dust raised in the darkness in the surroundings and checked his body. Besides some pains in his body from the fall, there was no open wound which relaxed him a lot.
After taking his headset, he connected them to his radio and spoke, "Zz.... I'm fine, I'll look for an exit through one of the windows so I need to get the hook ready to get out of this building as soon as possible."
"Zz... Yes, sir!"
"Now then, how did the roof collapse where I was?"
He didn't know how that was possible, looking around all those walkers had crushed or broken limbs and made it impossible for them to walk.
But their roars could still be heard in the surroundings, and without giving it any importance Airon walked with some difficulty and looked at the ground. There was no need to illuminate the place as the light coming through the hole in the building gave him enough light.
"Those roots..."
He looked at the greenish roots on the ground, he knew them very well and they were in the reports he had received from Birmingham about roots that somehow connected to some special walkers.
After walking slowly towards the only exit, he looked in his surroundings and saw how the wall had been invaded by this type of roots that was slowly causing the wall to crack.
Moving through the rubble, Airon kicked some of the walkers' heads and smashed them until he finished off numerous of them along the way. Now he couldn't shoot for simply taking out a walker, as his P90's magazines were too few to safely get out of this place.
Roar!
Immediately upon hearing a walker heading in his direction, Airon raised his P90 and fired once into the walker's head.
Bang!
The body of the walker fell to the ground, then Airon walked towards the door of the room he had fallen into and continued walking in search of a clear exit.
Then, other walkers came out of the darkness and it was then that Airon frowned and began a direct confrontation with those figures. For him, having gone through this whole situation is truly exhausting.
After eliminating those walkers, Airon felt a strong grip on his leg. The movement in his hands stopped, and he turned his head to look at the person attacking him next to him, with a sneer, Airon shook his leg and after the walker lost his grip he crushed his head with ease.
"Ah damn, this is exhausting!"
Pain was coming from all over his body, and Airon at this moment just wanted to get out of this place full of dust and corpses. But even if there were interesting things around him, he didn't have time to think about that time of things.
"Zz... Sir, the outside team can enter the building you are in, what are your orders?"
At this moment, Goerge's voice came out of the intercom and Airon stopped, he thought for a moment about his situation and said, "No, this building is also full of walkers and I don't think it's good to go out as well as to go in, it would be better if we all go out through the building where you are."
George, who heard Airon's words, replied shortly, "Zz.... Understood sir, the building is on the north side, you can break a window and you will be able to see us."
"Alright, don't move from where you are."
Airon continued to move forward, but this place was extremely large and full of offices without any separation, causing a walker to come out of every desk or blind spot, disturbing Airon as he advanced towards the exit.
"I'm lucky to have a mask, this place smells like shit even like this."
Boom!
But at this moment, halfway Airon stopped, there was a rough sound of metal rubbing against something sharp from inside the back room, followed by the sound of dull, heavy footsteps from inside that dark place.
This movement attracted the attention of Airon, who had been too alert for a while now, staring at that room in the back that he couldn't see, not knowing what kind of thing would make that kind of movement.
Boom... boom... boom...
Every step that thing in the dark, as if it was stepping on gravel, it seemed like the floor was cracking and it was then that Airon's heart started pounding, he didn't know what was generating that sound but it was definitely not good.
"What the hell is that thing?" Muttered Airon as he changed his magazine that still had a few rounds left. But that decision was the best he could make, he definitely wouldn't risk facing something unknown with seven rounds in his magazine.
Boom!
With a loud noise, a door at the back of this huge office room burst open to both sides, flying out with great force and hitting everything it touched, generating great chaos.
Auge!
At that moment, Airon's wide open eyes could see a bloated figure that was more than two meters tall and was walking slowly towards him, its right arm was gigantic and huge claws were sticking out of it.
As soon as that foul looking figure saw Airon not far away, it let out a loud terrifying roar that was heard by everyone in the vicinity.
"Roar!!!"
