Chapter 270 - Tension

At this moment, Morgan and Guillermo also ran into the room, and Gerry's movement also startled them. The person they were talking to yesterday and laughing in front of their eyes simply disappeared.

Rick seemed to be the most affected of their group, and then he handed the letter in his hand to Morgan, and helped Elen, who was already out of breath and wouldn't stop crying out of the room.

"Be strong, Gerry knows you'll be very strong, think of Katie!"

Hearing Rick mention Katia, the two sisters looked back, and the girl who was sitting on a couch had quietly walked over to them, looking extremely weak, a very pitiful appearance that a girl should not have.

Noa hugged Katie and walked back to the couch and sat down, not understanding how all this had happened. Elen also stepped forward and hugged her sister and the little girl that although she was not family, during all this time surviving together they had become more than family. Rick couldn't help but sigh when he saw the three of them hugging....

When it was almost noon, Rick and the others finally came down the stairs, and behind them, Elen, Katie and Noa also came out with huge backpacks on their backs.

The two girls took one last look at the second floor window, silently wiped the tears from their eyes, then turned and walked toward the van that was parked not far away.

Guillermo willingly gave up the back row seat and got into the back, while the three girls sat in the back row, while Morgan drove the car and slowly drove away from the small building.

The van was heading in the direction from whence it came. Morgan was driving relatively steadily, but the speed was not fast and the people in the car were not talking. Rick looked toward the exit of town up ahead, but he was still thinking about Gerry.

The car rounded a corner, and was only about fifty yards from the exit onto the highway, but stopped suddenly.

Rick was staggered by sudden braking that Morgan did, and his originally somewhat lazy expression was also aroused by the sudden brake.

"What's wrong?" Rick looked at Morgan and asked in confusion.

Morgan's eyes were wide and he began to look around the intersection with a bit of fear in his expression. He didn't hear Rick's words for a while, and Rick turned his head to look ahead slowly.

Undead! Numerous undead.

At this moment, the exit of the town was completely surrounded by walkers, fortunately these densely clustered undead less than two hundred meters in front of them were no more than normal ones.

"That's good, they're walkers of the normal kind." Guillermo muttered in a deep voice, holding tightly to his hand.

Morgan froze for a moment, then quickly put it in reverse. The van's engine roared and he sped backwards, and with a flick of the steering wheel turned in the opposite direction before pulling out in the opposite direction.

"How is it a relief to see thousands of walkers, you crazy fuck?" Elen in the back row was so scared that her face turned pale, she hugged Katia to her side and the two simply lowered their heads so as not to look at anything in the surroundings.

Soon they reached the other end of town, but it was only then that they realized that the scale of this horde of walkers exceeded their expectations, and they were likely to be surrounded by walkers.

Rick grabbed his gun and pulled the bolt as he yelled to Guillermo behind him. "Guillermo, get in the car now."

Morgan looked at the roads full of walkers around him and died to Rick beside him in a panic, "Why don't we find a residential house to hide in for now? Maybe this horde of walkers will pass soon."

Shaking his head, Rick pointed to the walkers walking on the side road and said, "We can't do that anymore, now we can only ram the walkers and if we get out now we'll die trapped looking for a place to hide."

At this point, Guillermo, who was staying in the back of the car, also got into the back row of seats. Several of the faster walking undead had already pounced on the body of the car. Rotten faces were stuck to the glass, and white eyes were staring at the people in the car, they opened their mouths to bite into the glass, the living flesh inside the car attracted a lot of attention to them and they started to slowly circle the car.

Elen in the back row pointed to an intersection not far away and shouted loudly, "Morgan, turn that place around! There's a way out!"

Seeing that there was still a glimmer of life, Morgan moved his hands quickly, and as soon as the steering wheel was turned, the car sped off in the direction Elen pointed. The walkers approaching the side of the car's body lost their footing and fell straight to the ground, while more walkers in the rear began to chase the car.

Indeed, there was a small path leading outside in another part of town. Morgan didn't dare waste any time, so he stepped on the gas! Watching the small town gradually disappearing behind them, a group of people broke out in a layer of cold sweat, perhaps just a moment's hesitation, several people would be trapped there.

"Where are we going?"

"We're going to keep going this way, see if we can turn further north and turn around there." The car slowly pulled away from the road.

...

And at the same time, prison.

In the square in the backyard, Shane was surrounded by several women at this point, he was standing there looking at the expressions of all these women not knowing what to do.

All around him were some women who had performed better and better in the previous training. Because he was responsible for the daily outgoing duties at the base, all of these girls found him.

Andrea is the most outgoing of these people, so the task of negotiation basically fell to her.

"We've been out many times with the team, why can't we go out by ourselves now? Otherwise, what's the purpose of training every day if we can't do anything?"

Shane was at a loss for words in response. These people who have been in a group a few times out in the forest, so they want to now fend for themselves against stronger walkers?

"Their training time is too short, I can't let them take major risks, not to mention what if they make a mistake or encounter w-2 walkers? No one will be able to come to your aid, do you think it is that simple? Even if we have sophisticated equipment, people get killed from time to time, don't take this matter simply."

Ignoring his words, Andrea still insisted on her point of view. "We won't be far behind, they can't keep us on base forever, isn't there a first time for everyone?"

Shane waved his hand and said with some impatience, "I'm a man of class three authority, if I say you're not ready, you're not ready, you know what I mean? Well, I've got a lot of things to do, we'll talk later...":

After Shane finished speaking, he turned and walked to the front yard, and the women looked at him bitterly, looking at his back, there was nothing he could do.

At this point, Amy suddenly saw Lori run out of the house in a hurry, and when she saw Shane's figure, she screamed to stop him.

The women realized that the matter was not simple, so they approached the two and heard Lori say in a nervous tone, "Rick and the others have encountered a horde of walkers! Shane, you need to go out and help them..":

"Hey, calm down Lori, you're scaring everyone, explain well what you just heard."

Following Shane's movements, she took a deep breath to calm down and then continued, "I was talking to Rick just now in the comm room, and he said they ran into a large group of walkers and their way back was blocked. They have at most half a tank of gas left, if they can't move, they may be trapped, you have to think of a way to help them."

If Lori hadn't said this at that moment, he wouldn't have paid attention to it at all, but he couldn't ignore his friend's wife's feelings but this situation was already proving very annoying to him.

"Zz... Rick, Rick can you hear him? This is Shane..."

"Zz...."

After waiting a while, only a robotic noise came out of the intercom, and Lori's facial expression became paler. Just when a few people were feeling hopeless.

"Zz... Shane, copy that. This is Rick."

The expression on her face relaxed a bit, and Shane picked up the radio and continued, "Are you okay? I just heard from your wife that you guys ran into a horde of walkers, is that too dangerous?"

"We're okay now, but this horde of walkers is a little big and we won't be able to get back to base for a while."

"Okay, keep in touch anytime..."
