Chapter 271 - Anomaly

When Shane put the radio down, he looked at Lori with a tired expression, he could only comfort her with a few words, but obviously this woman would not listen to those words as she insisted that he go find Rick.

Unable to do anything, he only averted his gaze to the women who had surrounded him a few minutes ago, but Amy had known of Lori's annoyed behavior, and when he was about to take a step and help her he decided to retreat.

In fact, Carol who had a bow on her shoulder gave Shane a meaningful smile.

Looking at her expression, Shane also understood what these women were looking for and after thinking about it for a while, he first looked at Lori, who was very upset, and finally nodded towards Carol.

The women who were still waiting for Shane's response smiled, and all looked gratefully at Carol for the opportunity to get off base and explore the surroundings, and then moved closer to Lori, and then away to a more reserved place.

All this time Shane had thought of this skinny single mother as a submissive woman, but after getting to know her all this time, he realized she was a better actress among all the people he had met. The main reason he didn't agree with these women dating is because they are still good, but when it comes to Carol, Shane doesn't care anymore.

The speed at which this woman grew up was amazing, she performed brilliantly on several outings and even saved several people.

Now by letting her go out on her own, Shane is confident that Carol can live well outside without belonging to the base. At this point, Carol can say she will protect these women, what else can she say if these women die?

Seeing that the matter was settled, Shane looked at his watch and realized another problem, secretly cursed, turned and ran to the front yard.

...

Rick and the others were still in the car looking for the way back.

After they stopped communicating on the radio, the atmosphere in the car was a bit dull, and Guillermo in the back row suddenly said with a smile, "Hadn't I better move to the back?"

At this point, because the last row was relatively full, Elen took the initiative to put his arms around the shoulders of the people on either side, and inevitably there was some physical contact, which embarrassed him a bit.

Apparently aware of this, Elen generously patted him on the back and said nonchalantly, "Hey, don't be shy, even though you look good, I like women, you're like a friend to me, you can try my sister and maybe you'll get lucky."

"Hehe, of course!"

Elen's sister looked at her and then nudged her, it was not the time to make this kind of joke and less in this place.

Smiling with a stiff expression, Guillermo didn't feel relaxed at all and tried to lean his body to one side, but to no avail.

Rick in the front row ignored them, but concentrated on the path outside. In as little as half an hour, they had already encountered two large groups of walkers, one large and one small, which made him not dare to relax. They were not to be distracted, and Morgan beside him who was driving also watched the movement around. Whenever he found something unusual, he would turn around and immediately go another way.

At this point, the direction they were driving was getting further and further away from the prison, which also made them more and more anxious. They wanted to find a way back as soon as possible, but they kept finding walker after walker.

After another hour, the car stopped in the middle of a road and in front of them were two large trees lying in the middle of the road.

Looking at the two large trees thicker than his waist, Rick walked towards them a little depressed, hugged one of the trees and motioned for several people to come and help.

After some hard work in vain, everyone lay on the ground in frustration, panting heavily, while some rotting walkers walked through the forest, the anger in each person also increased and some stretched their hands towards the machetes, approached the walkers and started to eliminate them.

Katie hid in the car with Elen. As she watched these three people take several walkers one by one, she couldn't help but feel relieved. She thought following them was a good idea to ensure their survival, didn't she?

Morgan sat in the driver's seat and tried to start the car, but could only hear the sound of the engine roaring and shutting off. The tank gauge that had run out of fuel.

"Damn it!"

After hitting the steering wheel hard, Morgan rubbed his bald head as if he was blowing off steam and then looked at Rick, who was walking backwards.

"Out of gas?"

"Unfortunately yes."

Sighing, he could only walk now and asked some people to pack supplies behind the van, now very glad he had heard Shane's words to bring some supplies.

Several people brought backpacks, which were a great help at this point. The supplies in the car were quite plentiful, and several people handed them out, and everyone carried a few things in the back.

Rick looked at the map in his hand and, after identifying it for a while, pointed in a direction and said, "Let's go there."

Guillermo asked, a bit puzzled, "Isn't that the opposite direction?"

Nodding to confirm what the other party said, Rick explained, "There's a town there, we can go there to find out if there's gas somewhere nearby."

As he spoke, he pointed to the three gas cans in the back of the truck, and only then did the others understand what he meant.

"It's already noon, we'll walk at high speed and try to get there before dark."

Without hesitation, the group picked up the pot of oil and walked toward town.

...

At the same time, Hilltop.

Today is the trading day between the Hilltop alliance and the Kingdom. Jesus got up early and discussed the amount of materials to be traded with Gregory. He quickly loaded the car and left the settlement.

The people on the Alexandria side also prepared supplies. They are going to Hilltop and the Kingdom today, so they also got up very early, packed all the supplies and everyone was ready to leave.

The captain has not yet returned, and Daryl, Alicia and Nick had also left for the Kingdom and George along with Bob went to Hilltop while the others stayed under Liam's direction.

Since the last rejection, Gregory's attitude towards them was actually not very good, but his biggest characteristic is that he is shameless. After discovering that he could still trade resources, his attitude changed drastically.

Now, as long as Airon's team goes to Hilltop, this old man will run off, flattering and happy that they had a good trip, just to get a little more stuff.

Except for the high price given to the other party in the first transaction, the supplies in the team are basically quite cheap, so this old man never achieved his goal, but he still enjoys it and wastes nothing.

When Greoge arrived near Hilltop, he saw two trucks parked at the gate on the other side from a distance, and about 20 people were standing at the gate of Hilltop with guns in hand.

Sensing something was wrong, he immediately stopped the team, quickly hid the car and slipped away with Bob.

After they convinced Jesus to leave a monitoring team, the two hid at a close distance and quietly listened to an arrogant voice coming out of the headset.

"Congratulations, you are very lucky to be the first group of survivors we met after arriving here! So I plan to provide you with some extra benefits."

George was wearing a monitor headset and holding a pair of high-powered binoculars in his hand.

He saw a tall man talking to the people of Hilltop in high spirits.

George had never seen these people before, and the arrogant voice in the headset continued.

"The benefits are...!"

He paused, and some evil laughter came out of the headset.

"Hey, hey, you guys are going to be our first slaves in Washington!"
