The runner class walkers are a real problem, there is no logic to their frightening speed if we start from the fact that they are rotting, how is it possible that they can run so fast if their body is dead?
No doubt it could be a variation of the Wildfire virus, one where the infected are different from the undead of the original virus base and this turns them into runners.
The special suits of the Airon soldiers saved their lives, otherwise it is very likely that several would have died. But fortunately this was not the case, which left him much calmer.
Metallic sound!
When the iron door of a warehouse opened, several soldiers illuminated the interior and there were no more infected, most were moved with the helicopters and eliminated by themselves.
The doors of many armored vehicles were opened and several people started loading the boxes of ammunition and weapons in batches to take them towards a C5 aircraft. There were about four c5 class aircraft at this base but half needed maintenance which they were in fact receiving by the soldiers who were at this base.
In addition to that, there were more advanced tanks and armored vehicles, trucks and cargo helicopters and also hh60s that could be flown by the c5 planes to the base where the Airon people right now had taken over.
In a room where some soldiers were sitting quietly.
The bright light in the spotlight illuminated a room that was originally dark, and a thin old man held a nutritional bar and a bottle of clean water. In front of him, several men were sitting as they watched them.
Airon had an arrogant expression, his words were direct and I expected to hear only what I wanted to know, "I am the Commander of the S.C.T. community... You see, I need the tanks, armored vehicles, guns, shells and planes in this place. I know there are pilots in this place who would be of great service to me, so now I will tell you what happened to the world."
Ben Miller, who held the highest position in the remaining soldiers on this base, looked at Airon and knew that this man had reformed an entire branch of the military. This weaponry, helicopters and equipment could only be handled by experienced people and only soldiers could implement it.
"The undead are evolving, we have already seen the variants and those bastards are not the ones who did not take everything away Mr. Ben Miller, fearing that he counts we must protect each other."
When Airon finished saying these words, Morgan approached with a photograph and put them on the table, "The world was consumed by the dead, but there are still alive that we fight day by day to survive, what do you think?"
Ben Miller nodded exhaustedly and said, "There is no world to go back to anymore, it was a surprise that a damn virus and not a third world war wiped out our world. We've seen those infected running, believe me I'm very surprised at your team and how it was you took them out."
Airon nodded with thanks and then said, "It's a lot of work, I can't take all the credit that we made it as a community, but if I hadn't put together the necessary men at the right time it would have been difficult to have made it this far. But that's not the question I asked you, do you or do you not want to follow my people back to Atlanta and integrate with my army?"
Airon's actions were beyond everyone's expectations, before they realized what was happening, they knew they had a few options.
"Tell me, were you really in the army before all this?" Ben Miller asked Airon directly.
"Does that matter old man?" Daryl pointed out in a gruff voice.
"No, not at all that it matters, my people and I are totally sure to integrate with your people and fight for a better world, against the living and the dead." Ben finally spoke his thoughts on Airon's question.
That old man's words were not at all something Airon felt sincerely, so he said again, "I need your people, especially the pilots to check the C5 planes, I need them up and running so that the resources of this place are moved to a safe base."
After saying those words, Airon took out a map and placed it on the table, "The bases and people that are in my community are increasing day by day, so we need to open more bases and resort to many other methods of transportation."
At this moment, Eric, who was waiting quietly in the back, also heard the conversation between the two sides, quickly came to Ben's side and asked in bewilderment, "Is it really all over? How come they trust us directly?"
"Eric, it's not good to have this conversation right now..."
At Eric's words, another soldier named Todd shook his head and said, "No sir, Eric is right, we don't know the other side's situation and we are within our rights to inform ourselves of everything that is really going on outside."
"If you guys were unreliable you would have been shot at long ago, we are not here for you, we are here for the resources." Airon looked at everyone and pointed out, "I take care of my own as if they were the only thing in the world, unassessed people like you are a latent danger that I must take the risk of."
"You have stayed too long on this base, you do not know what you have now become, especially people, especially those who are hungry. I know you all have your doubts, you really must be worried about your families and it's true, I would be too."
Daryl stepped forward and pointed out, "There are thousands of people in our group, once they get to our community they might even find relatives or acquaintances as many others have."
"Then I, being a pilot, will do whatever they tell me to do, sir."
"Yes, me too."
"Shouldn't we consider it?"
"What the hell do you want to consider?"
Overhearing the conversation between the soldiers in front of him, Airon looked around unconsciously and realized that there might be numerous resources in this place that would take a while to be removed to the base that Rick was clearing.
The people in this place were scared, all of that was normal. But in the range of his perception, he did not perceive anyone but the people present, it seemed that none of them really did anything stupid.
Airon even knew not to underestimate anyone and endanger his people, so he would send the survivors of this place in batches back to a safe area.
"I need the help of all civilians and soldiers to gather all materials and resources in this place towards Atlanta, I don't have enough power to keep soldiers in this base since I haven't even completely taken Atlanta."
"That's okay, we have many things in this place including some other more sophisticated vehicles like anti-aircraft missile systems, defenses and we even have a drone that was not transported elsewhere."
Airon nodded, hiding his impression and said, "So, we need to get organized and start tagging resources to embark on the trip, the most important thing is to see the status of the C5's and see that they don't have any problems flying."
Just as Airon was speaking, inside the room they were in, the sound of a radio was heard and suddenly a voice came out emitted from the loudspeaker, "Zz.... Echo, distress message, a large horde is heading towards our base, we need an extraction operation, all our C5's are down and the helicopters have become difficult to maintain, if you are listening to us and have worked out their situation, we need your help."
"I think we need you to explain that..." Daryl looked deeply at Ben Miller.
