"Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa!"
The sound of footsteps echoed throughout the military camp, after moving the corpses and placing some in special boxes to keep their bodies, Airon's group began to move the boxes of ammunition and weapons in larger bags to a military truck.
This place was too big, there was packed military food, damaged military weapons and numerous bulletproof vests in good condition. The military corpses were stripped of their body armor, boots and any important equipment that could be reused.
The corpses were examined, it had to be figured out why some were running and kept on the ground. Bob was also in charge of doing the necessary tests to obtain samples and to store them to take them to the investigation group.
At this site they were able to recover seven Humvees with machine guns, eight heavy machine guns, five military trucks and thousands of rounds of ammunition as well as much more powerful weapons, grenades and other equipment.
But what was more important was the antique weapons museum on one side that also had weapons. You could tell that the weapons were very old like the FG 42, MG 34 and STG 44.
Merle was so crazy that he wanted to take an antique artillery gun, he was so hell bent on taking it that T-dog was convinced and together with Glenn dragged it to a truck along with the required equipment.
But back to the important issue, there were also three tanks at this location that were moved by Jon and George, there was enough gasoline to reach the destination that Airon had informed them about.
So, together with the four buses, seven Humvees with machine guns, five trucks and a tanker and the three tanks mentioned at the end plus the modified RV, Airon had got a convoy to be feared in a very short time.
After chatting with Ferdinand, he happily decided to join Airon's group after some minor considerations. Now, Airon's group numbered 132 people and most of them were reliable at first glance.
Even so, Airon left the Humvees and tanks in the hands of reliable people he had been watching since arriving at Noah's shelter. Upon finishing cleaning this place, Airon had changed his clothes and discovered several internal blood stains on his skin, meaning he had taken some hard hits.
As he exited the modified RV, Daryl was waiting outside and said, "How are you feeling?"
Airon looked at Daryl, then shook his head and said, "Those walkers were fast, especially that one we took with us. Stronger, faster and more flexible. It's definitely something new, we should confirm the information with everyone and find out if it's something rare or common in this part of the country."
Daryl nodded slightly, he understood Airon's words so he said, "Yeah, it would be a problem if those fuckers run like that."
"We need to get out of this place, we've spent too much time here already."
...
The road from Fredericksburg, Virginia to Alexandria is relatively long, and the large convoy of vehicles has been driving for a long period of time, but as time goes on the distance to the destination is getting closer and closer.
Airon still wasn't sure if present day Alexandria had sent Aaron to search for survivors around Washington DC, but what he was sure of was that the good days are about to come to an end.
But to the current Airon that was something that didn't matter. During this time, he made many stops along the way, found drinking water, filled food containers and found more food, but his mind was on the variants of the walkers he had eliminated.
In Edwin's words, the closest variants to what they had found similar were to those in France, but none of that came close to what Airon's group had encountered. After all, even if the lab Edwin had been in contact with in France had finally found a cure, if the virus died, there was nothing they could do.
The short time that Airon was able to stay connected to Sam Valdez by radio, he instructed him to train the special strike group and augment it with more members who were trained for anything.
He had more or less described to him the situation they had faced and Sam agreed that he would increase the training and defense numbers.
Along the way they had not encountered similar walkers, so Airon thinks they were not that common. This is something that reassured him, but he definitely had to focus a lot more on the abnormal changes in this world.
If you want to take Atlanta completely, you must have more weaponry and find major military weaponry inside a large army base. For that, he needs to first get to Alexandria and take that place as an important point for his community.
He needs good leaders, trained young men and a powerful army that can eliminate both walkers and people. He should not be fooled by how little strength his group has, that is a point he cannot give up on.
Now everything had become very complicated, there were mutations that should not exist in the future in the first place. Even if they did exist, he would have to be prepared for them not to impact his community too much.
Bigger walls, more sophisticated weapons, and better trained soldiers. Everything must be considered and Airon has no time, so overwhelmed and unable to figure it all out, he slammed his arm against the sofa to one side.
"Damn!"
And what he received in return was a tingling from his injured muscles. However, the pain made Airon calm down, so he closed his eyes and tried to rest his mind.
Thinking that all his plans had to be changed, Airon couldn't help but smile coldly full of helplessness. And Merle, who was sitting not far from him, slid down the couch and muttered to T-dog.
"What's going on? Just a question, did he get high?"
Airon, who was nervous, suddenly became more impatient. He looked up at George and asked, "George, how far is our destination?"
"We'll be there in two hours at the most. If it's early, it'll be an hour, it depends on the road, boss!"
After getting the answer, Airon nodded with satisfaction and returned to the couch to plan what to do next.
...
Alexandria Community.
This is a quiet community located in a private residential area that had not been put to such use before the end of the world began. It has a solar power system, large weapons and food storage along with a water filtration system.
These houses were top notch and you could say that living here once represented having a lot of money, but many of the original owners are now dead and this place has been mostly occupied by strangers.
The great wall that surrounded the community built by Reg Monroe and others served mainly to delimit the place from the outside world and was also the main means of defense that the place had, as it blocked the advance of walkers.
This whole community has been lucky, very lucky until Rick and his group arrive, with few skills they have survived to the end.
Some might ask, haven't this group of people suffered an attack from a horde of walkers before?
That's correct, this shelter has been quiet and will remain so for many years to come. According to the current leader of the community named Deanna Monroe, because so many were evacuated, there were not many walkers.
But the terrain was favorable and there were many other things that kept walkers from coming to this refuge and the main thing was the quarry.
Today it is still like any other for the Alexandria community. Early in the morning, Aaron and Eric packed up their things ready to go exploring. They both hold important positions within the community and follow Deanna's orders.
Every time they went out, they found no survivors. Even if they find some suspects, they need a lot of observation before they are brought to the community.
So far none of the survivors have been able to meet their needs.
"Aaron, Eric! You must be careful outside and travel the roads carefully!"
Deanna stood in front of an RV, looked at the couple as Aaron continued to pack up and nodded earnestly.
It wasn't the first time the two had been out, and they had been traveling outside for a long time, which made them feel a little out of place in the community, and everyone looked at them funny.
At first, the two still felt a little awkward, but as time went on, the awkwardness disappeared.
At first, the two still felt a little awkward, but as time passed, the awkwardness disappeared.
Aaron reached over and hugged Deanna, then stepped back naturally and hugged Eric again, and said earnestly, "Don't worry, we've both always been very cautious."
After speaking, Aaron and his partner looked at each other with a smile, climbed into the white RV, and the door to the outside slowly opened.
"Wait!"
The people at the door stopped dead in their tracks and in the distance they saw a large smokescreen as a convoy approached in the distance.
All the vehicles that passed were large vehicles, and the convoy was very long and headed straight for the gate.
Aaron ran out of the RV and yelled toward the back in a short tone, "Eric, go call the people!"
As he said that, he also pulled the pistol from his waistband and took a defensive stance at the gate fence.
In the distance, there was a sound of the vehicles' coat brakes, and the large convoy slowly stopped in front of the gate.
At this moment, many survivors in Alexandria simply ran out of their homes and ran toward the weapons arsenal. Everyone's faces were filled with panic and bewilderment - they had never encountered anything like this before!
On the other hand, Deanna stood in front of the door, looking at the convoy outside the door with a serious expression.
