"He's a cop!"
"Looks like we haven't been abandoned hahaha!"
Whispers from several people drew several nearby civilians, trying to hear what Shane was about to say.
"I'm very sorry, I'm here as just another civilian and I have nothing to do with what will happen in the future, but I can say that I have a lot more information and in the future I don't rule out that someone may come to our aid."
As soon as everyone heard him, they felt his words illuminate their dark future and Shane didn't stop talking, but continued.
"I am a victim like all of you in this incident. My city was in chaos days ago. This time I am protecting my colleague's family. Our car is parked in the back and I couldn't help overhearing their conversation."
"Just now I understand the overall situation. You see, even though I'm not a government envoy, I'm still a policeman and I maintain contact with a member of the CDC."
"I can use firearms and as long as I can afford it, I will help you maintain your security while everything is going on."
"In our current situation, the worst thing to do is to act alone. Only by joining forces can we be able to form a group and act together, find temporary shelter and wait for my friend to contact me."
Shane's words were obviously accepted by most of the people present, hearing that he had a government contact, everyone decided to accept his words.
"Officer Shane, you are right, but I want to ask you, do you have a place that can serve us as a temporary shelter?" Morales is more concerned about practical things, after all he has to keep his family safe.
Seeing that no one objected, Shane felt there was a great opportunity, so he continued speaking to reassure everyone.
"I know a place, a nearby quarry, that has been abandoned many years ago and the infrastructure has been demolished, but it is inaccessible and few people go there."
After saying that, Sahne showed a map with the path marked, this was specially prepared by Airon Darcy.
Everyone looked at it and accepted, Adrea was the first to raise her hand and said, "Come on, we have to go! It's better than being stuck on this road."
Glenn also raised his hand, "I'll go too, I only have food for one day, I can't wait here to die!"
"Yes, but there is something to discuss ahead of time to find a safe place to settle" Dale also raised his hand, expressing his agreement.
More and more people raised their hands in agreement, and the rest did the same.
"Alright, now that we have it clear we need to go back and get ready, we will meet once we are ready." Shane said and looked at Dale, "Dale, get some of us into your RV to try to drive with the least number of cars."
Shane patted Andrea's car and continued to tell Dale as he showed him the map, "In a moment, go through this section of road, there is an intersection a few hundred yards ahead, drive into the reverse lane and then go west, I'll be there waiting for them."
Dale nodded.
About an hour later, Shane and the others found Dale's RV. Shane signaled for them to follow him and they all headed forward.
A group of people arrived at the quarry Shane mentioned, which is a good place surrounded by mountains and trees, and there is a mountain in the center.
They all reached the top of the middle and found a relatively flat spot.
"This place is not bad, the cop has some vision." Morales got out of the car and walked around briefly, chatting with Darly.
"We can wait in this spot while things progress..." Shane muttered with a somewhat nervous look on his face.
They all began to settle in and start handing out duties, they didn't know how long they would spend in this place, so the responsibilities had to be mutual.
In the documents that Airon left Shane, they detailed the situation of the virus and the hopes of finding a cure.
To tell the truth, the future looked very bad, but he had hope that all this would be solved.
...
CDC Center
"And the entire society was consumed in a matter of seconds..." Geroge Burcea looked at the buildings in the distance with unfamiliar thoughts.
With a mustache and long hair, wheat-colored skin and black eyes he joined Airon Darcy when he heard he could be back on duty.
Truth be told, he always missed going back to some institution that could make him hold a gun again, the money was too much and the requirements were too credible for him to accept.
When he heard what he had to do and after joining the CDC with the others, he thought he was very fortunate to be in this place. Now he had companions and people to talk to, he had the opportunity to keep fighting and that comforted him.
Nicolas Gonzalez frowned, this that was happening was unimaginable. He could not react to the government deciding to destroy the city with missiles, if this is happening in Atlanta, it would be the same in other parts of the world.
"What is in store for us?" Nicolas Gonzalez asked with a deep sigh.
Hearing Nicolas' words, Tylor felt that the situation was truly dire. Given that the government had gone to these extremes, the military had completely lost, right? In a very short time society was consumed by the virus and all indications were that there was no turning back.
"All we have left is to survive..."
"We have to be strong and grateful, not everyone has the same conditions as us in this place."
While everyone felt scared, many other people just silently watched the situation. The walkers are increasing in number and it was a matter of time before everything would get worse.
Scientists were still struggling to find a cure while soldiers continued to contain the virus, the older people lost hope in the world and rested in silence.
On the top floor of the CDC facility, Airon started with cold eyes at the place outside the window, his thoughts submerged in many possibilities.
As the sound of gunshots rang out from time to time, his eyes and thoughts delved into what he had to do in the future.
