Zack never left my side in the few days I spent at the hospital recovering . My Dad came in the mornings before work and at night after he was out from his office but Zack has pretty much been a constant.
I was to be dismissed today, two days before my birthday . I was up and more than ready to go when my Dad arrived.
Zack left for school an hour ago and I was waiting alone sitting at the edge of the bed when the door was cracked open. I glanced up from the book I was reading to see Lilly at the door shifting on her feet .
No words can explain how good it felt to see her there.
" Hey " I said unable to hide the excitement in my voice.
" Hey" She stuffed her hands in her pocket and approached me.
I threw my hands around her enveloping her in a bone crushing hug.
