I wake up to the most dreadful sound in the whole world.
My alarm.
I tried opening my eyes but the sunlight seeping through my curtains made me close it again . My best friend Lilly is knocking at my door ( more like pounding ) nonstop telling me to get my ass out of bed before we get late to school . My alarm is still beeping which makes me furious I pull it from the plug and throw it across the wall. Just then , my phone starts ringing and I look at the caller ID . It was my twin sister Rita . I answered it .

"Hello ? "
"Hello ? Rosie are you still sleeping ? " Her voice comes out louder than usual, or it's because i just woke up from my sleep .
"Hmm ... Yeah ... I " I mumble .
" Anyways , I put breakfast in the microwave for you . Get ready soon or you'll be late for school. I'm already there and guess what ? "
"What? " I say getting up from my bed and stumbling over to the door .
" Mr. Banks is not coming so , we have a free period after lunch . yay ! " she squeals .
" Great . " I say trying to sound exited but failing miserably plus, she's my twin sister and she would know if i was faking it the moment the words come out of my mouth .
"Don't be late for first period ." she says and the line goes dead .
I unlock and open my bed room door to find a frustrated Lilly leaning at the wall in front of me . She looks really annoyed . She always comes to pick me up because it would be much easier for me to go by her car than wake up at four to catch the bus . I smiled at her and went straight to the bathroom quickly shutting the door before she says anything . " I 'll be in the car . You have Three minutes Rose, or I'm gone " She yells and stomps down the hallway down the stairs. I quickly wash my face and brush my teeth not wanting to piss her off more than she is . I ran to my room and open my closet , I find some faded boyfriend jeans and a black sweater and slip them on , I grab my bag from under my desk and climb down the stairs two at a time. I get to the kitchen to find pancakes on a plate stuffed inside the microwave. I roll them into one piece and take a big bite . I run back to the living room to get the house keys and get back to the kitchen to finish up my pancakes . I stuff them into my mouth and rush to my snickers where I left them by the door last night . Mark hasn't texted me all morning which means he's either sleeping or he's already at school busy messing around with his friends. I slip my shoes on and shut the front door . I slip my keys in and lock it . I have to be home early because dad won't be happy if he gets back home from work and finds the door locked . Lilly's car is parked in front of the house so , I rush to her, open the passenger door and get in .
" Your had 12 seconds remaining from the three minutes i gave you . " She says and starts the car .
I put my seatbelt on and grin at her as she pulls out of the driveway . " I guess I broke the record then ,"
She looks at me sideways and snorts " yeah . you did ."
