Chapter 8 - Rumor's Of Her Husband

Each second felt tedious for Beatrice, her body leaned up against the door as she had only been able to hear the slight rustle of fabric from the other side. Hope swelling inside of her chest as the door knob turned to open, backing up a bit to meet them, her senses were suddenly filled by the stench of sex that mashed together with expensive perfumes.

Keeping her composure to halt her actions from holding her nose, her arm gestured them to move from the area, down the corridors. Walking confidently in front, she made sure to talk to the man that brought much wealth to the industry.

"I hope you enjoyed your time at The Show Girls Studios, Mr. Cardin. If you would like to schedule another session, call Mr. Lockwood to discuss such details. Do not hesitate for we will miss your absence." She cited, the words produced diligently monotoned from the many men she had spoken such a speech to. Turning around to grant the man a pasted smile, she was awarded with a throaty chuckle.

"Cesar sure knows how to keep his women trained. Tell me.. Ms. Luther here kept me plenty satisfied, however I am now interested in pursuing a brunette with bedroom eyes...what's the selection?" He inquired, the young actress behind him huffing immaturely from the lack of attention, a strategy for the man to loop his arm around her waist at the sound of her displacement.

She exhaled, rolling her eyes as she turned back around in her walking, the man's light teasing being of little means to their journey.

"...Well if you'd prefer to go from your typical blond, the actress Carol Clarke has been known to treat her gentlemen with a bit more seduction. Her chestnut curls are an odd fascination to men, as it frames her face to appear doll-like. To be completely honest, Mr. Lockwood would be much better at granting you information regarding his actresses...Would you like me to schedule an appointment?"

Walking out into the brisk night, they managed to make it to his awaiting vehicle, William Cardin being helped in, rolling his window to give her a proper answer.

"I'd much rather schedule an appointment with you, Ms. Assistant. Take my card. Tell me if you have any thoughts on the matter..." He replied. The way his voice contained lust making her feel repulsed, reaching out with trembling fingers, she snatched the card away from the man quickly standing at full height. The man in return diverted his attention to the woman that had previously entertained him, waving his fingers at her. "...Thank you for your time, Ms. Luther."

As the vehicle pulled away towards the gates of the studio, both woman did not wait to see him off, the blonder of the two huffing as she sashayed away, her arms crossed firmly over her chest whilst her robe swished with the turn creating a dramatic effect at her antics.

"Ms. Luther. Wait a second, let me walk you to your apartments." She called out, rushing after the actress whom moved hurriedly through the lot.

"Do not bother, Beatrice. I am certain you have better things you 'ought to be doing. Mr. Cardin will likely be waiting for that call, do not fret on lil 'ole me."

"Do not behave as such, Ms. Luther. You forget I am a married woman...he simply took pity on me for having to be the shadow of such a luminous lady such as yourself. From you stealing the attention, he thought I would be a desperate woman, easy to pray on." Beatrice responded, happy for her choice of words as the actress slowed her steps completely enraptured by her words.

"Really?...You are right, Beatrice. What was I thinking? The sip of wine I had earlier must have clouded my judgment. After all, why would he want you, when he can have me? Angle Of Hollywood. Woman Of The Nation. The Envy Of All. Don't get me wrong Beatrice. You have your qualities and from the rumors I heard about your husband I was a little worried about you pursuing Mr. Cardin. But you have enlightened me so, my dear friend." She began her speech, her blabber continuing until they reached the buildings of her apartments. Beatrice becoming quiet throughout the whole time, especially since the young actress had brought up her knowledge in rumors about her husband.

Leading the young actress toward her door, Beatrice departed from the area, her long limbs gravitating through the lots until she reached the building of the whores. Wanting more than anything to retrieve the joint she had lost in the suite, not bothering to heed the words of Cesar Lockwood's, as her being simply craved the feeling of having her mouth leech onto the strong drug until she forgot everything.
