She froze, after surviving this long, she'd simply frozen upon witnessing his uncharted rage. It took a few minutes after hitting the concrete pillar for her to regain some awareness of the surrounding area; something snapped while she lay unconscious, although, Elizabeth, couldn't put her finger on it she definitely felt it.
As she lay on the warm red earth a fire began to grow inside of her; she was tired of always being treated this way by everyone she'd been in contact with. While the pain at the lose of William began to reset in, Elizabeth found herself wanting to get even.
Hot tears welled in her silver eyes as she opened them and slowly regained balance. A single thought echoed inside her brain causing everything else to fade from view, 'if he wants to treat me this way he will have to kill me and it won't be easy.' She knew he wouldn't kill her at least not yet but if she remained under the control of his favorite substance then she was as good as dead. Her rough hands reached for the small cloth bag and as she did anger began to take over. She didn't want to live like this anymore.
Elizabeth glanced around, making sure he wasn't hiding somewhere in the shadows, before opening the bag, and pouring it's crystal clear contents, onto the red earth, she scattered the shards with her bare feet, before closing the cloth bag once again, and sitting down beside the concrete pillar. Something told her that he was making his way back and her time was running out. As he rounded the corner, with a plastered smile on his weathered features, she'd made up her mind not only to survive, but to make him suffer for the hell he's put her through. Everyone else can believe the lie that he was a decent person now after walking out of prison for 15 years; she knew better.
